My name is Bria and I have had diabetes since I was 11, I am going to be 18 in July. Diabetes has been a day to day struggle for me and sometimes I want to give up and not even care anymore. But as I said before, I'll be 18 soon and I cannot afford to give up or not care. None of my family members or friends have diabetes and when I try to talk to them about it, they don't really understand how I feel about it. I despise it. It's a shame, but I'm just now realizing that I cannot allow diabetes to control me anymore, I need to control it. I recently met a girl who has had diabetes since she was 6 years old and is now 20 years old. She has had 18 admissions to the hospital for her diabetes in the past four years and I really don't want to be 20 years old still struggling with disease and I would also like to help her anyway I can. I would like to reach out to other diabetics with a success story, but as of now I think a little encouragement would help so that I can get to that point.
Im not asking to know anyone's business, but if you could just share words of encouragement with me and your success story with this disease.
Thank You & God Bless!
