Am I looking at this correctly? Dr told me 7 units per day. I can take it at night or split it. I've decided to split it 4 at night when I spike the worst and 3 in the morning. How long should this 10ML vial last before I have to go back? ugh... I just can not come up with the co-pays! Have I already done myself in?
My numbers are looking so much better in the mornings:) If I take the full 7 units at night; I wake up sweaty wet hair in the morning.. That is why I decided to do the split. With the split my number is around 140's in the morning to 160's instead of 180' s to 200's. I really like that! It makes it easier to the the Humalog in smaller amounts during the day. :)

Yes, I'm dealing with Tricare Standard. I cannot afford to go in and see the Dr... co-pays. sigh... This is a clinic that is no appointments. I just cannot afford a regular family dr. They make their money by seeing you every time you need script refill. The dose was supposed to match my weight. I will run out of my humalog and not be able to go in and get a script til maybe next month. Just tough finances right now.

I think I calculated this correctly. In 10ml vial there are 100u/1ml. So that is 1000u per vial. Dividing the 1000u by the number of units you take a day would give you about 143 doses. But like Robyn said Lantus is only good for about 28 days. Will your Dr. write you a script with refills? If he doesn't offer, ask him. I know my pharmacy will also call my Dr. for refill approval if needed.

but if you keep it refrigrated it last a bit longer, no idea how long. I take 40 units of lantus right now, 7 would be so nice. Are you dealing with tricare?
