I'd like to start a new tradition of sharing a weekly poem. I'm in a poetry workshop at Brandeis University and I figure, what's the point of writing poetry if I don't share it. Lately I've been on a diabetes poetry kick and my theme this week is Reflection. These are first drafts so please don't judge them too harshly but I don't mind constructive criticism in the comments.

This next is under the influence of watching the Academy Awards. It's the first time I've watched since coming to college so I felt I needed to honor them in some way. I thought about what I might say if I won an Oscar. Who would you thank?
