I didn't blog about this, but on Saturday night I had really bad stomach pains and almost went to the ER because I couldn't stand up without really terrible pains. This happened after I ate the serving size of pistachios. I ended up falling asleep and just having a really bad headache on Sunday. It's over now and I'm perfect in health, but this morning we found out that more than 2000 pounds of pistachios were recalled because of salmonella. (causes cramps, headache, ect.) We aren't really sure what to do right now. I'm better now, but we'll probably call the MN Health services or whatever it's called to see if that's what it was and then they'll report it or something. I just hope it's not going to be something that stays forever just a little bit because I have diabetes. I doubt it, though. Did anyone else get sick from this?

Just a warning to everyone--- stop eating pistachios!

Holy hellfire!
I just bought pistachios last week and have been munching on them since like nobody's business. I just saw the outbreak story on the news this morning and I nearly pooped my pajamas. They said..."no pistachios. Period." I chucked the nuts and said a few Hail Mary's because I don't want to get sick off poison snacks.

I haven't felt bad yet, so I guess I'm OK...but shame on these distributors for releasing this junk into our stores. Sloane, I'm glad you made it through...Salmonella ain't no joke.

It only lasted about 4 hours, so it wasn't that bad. But the worst thing was that I bought a whole huge bag of the pistachios and now I have to stare at them and know that I can't eat them (they can't be thrown away yet). They're the only nut that I like... sooo good! I hope you stay well, Dino! For poison, they sure taste good! :)
