Comment by Bradford on September 27, 2011 at 11:06am Great job Megan! It sounds like that was pretty brutal course (all that climbing on the bike and the run, and all at over 5K+ feet of elevation!?!? Wow!).
I'm glad to hear your finished the race though! You completed any olympic distance tri! That's sayin' something! Definitely be proud of that accomplishment (there are some who may never be able to say that!). Aaaaaaand awesome job on the "first place" ;-) When you show off your age group award, you don't have to mention the part that you were the only one lol.
Good luck w/ your training over the winter too. I like the goal you set for yourself! I think racing a few 5k/10ks would be great motivators for the training as well. Great idea!
And yes, it sounds like you got the "hard part" out of the way, so it will definitely only get better from here! And from the sounds of it, you have an idea of how to better prep w/ your insulin/nutrition as well, so your BG management will likely improve as well (which will only make your next race that much sweeter!!--pun intended lol ;)
