As a new member of the tudiabetes family, I'd like to thank you for making me feel welcomed. This was a pleasant surprise. I can honestly say that I wasn't expecting the type of reception I received.

January 2nd will be the 12th anniversary of me being released from the hospital, after spending 8 days in there.

One of my earliest post-diagnosis memories is of me sitting on my bed all alone and starring out of my window at the leafless trees. I felt vulnerable. I felt alone. Unfortunately, the profound loneliness I felt on that day would stay with me.

Back then, I would have died for a place like tudiabetes! I am grateful that such a place exists now. Due to my own experiences, I'm convinced that we're touching many lives - or, at the very least, making the burden of living with diabetes lighter.

In conclusion, I'd like to thank Manny Hernandez for having the vision & volition to create such a friendly community; the staff and volunteers who make sure this site runs smoothly; and, last but least, all of YOU, who each contribute to the welcoming atmosphere of tudiabetes.
