Thanks to Creation Healthcare: they donated $1,500 to DHF to help us reach our goal!!

This morning, I encountered a Direct Message on Twitter, sent to me by Daniel Ghinn, Director of Digital Engagement of Creation Healthcare.

Hi Manny,

As you know, at Creation Healthcare we've been inspired for some time by the work you're doing at TuDiabetes. More than that, your work has been such an inspiration to many others in healthcare - in both the commercial and not-for-profit sectors. Throughout 2010 I have mentioned TuDiabetes many times as an example of successful excellent healthcare engagement, using social media to change the lives of patients.

I believe that the pioneering healthcare engagement you have done has made a difference to patients well beyond the diabetes community, through new initiatives that have been inspired by TuDiabetes. Thank you for demonstrating what is possible - without your example we at Creation Healthcare would have a harder job convincing healthcare stakeholders of the power of social media to achieve health outcomes!

Your recent #helpTuDiabetes campaign was yet another inspiring initiative we watched with eager anticipation for another demonstration of what's possible. Congratulations on what you achieved with this.

In recognition of all the above, Creation Healthcare would be delighted to make up the shortfall against your target, which I understand is somewhere up to USD $1,500.

Keep up the good work!

Best regards,

Daniel Ghinn

You deserve a great deal of congratulations, Manny. This was a huge effort and I'm so glad that it was as successful as it is. It is good to know that you efforts are recognized by the medical community at large. You've got a good thing going here, Manny. ROCK ON!

Manny, please pass along to Daniel my personal thanks for Creation Healthcare's generosity in helping TuD meet its goal. Were I smarter (or more sufficiently techno-savvy to even know what Twitter is) I'd send a note myself. And congratulations to you and Andreina for a successful campaign, and well-deserved recognition by the broader digital community.

He only spoke the truth about TuD & you Manny. How generous of him though! You have made so many of us feel like they finally found a home here on TuD!
