Fatima (Massachusetts)
Fatima is a quick-witted fun loving Bostonian with a passion for blogging and Dunkin Donuts coffee. When she is not leading massive life changing walks around NY Central Park she is working hard to let people with diabetes know about the Big Blue Test.
Ben (Northern California)
Ben is a super energetic, independent, aspiring home run slugger. He is the leading two year old wall climber and has Type 1 diabetes. Ben loves running, jumping and charging down hills as part of his Big Blue Test.
Mia & Isaiah (Northern California)
Mia and Isaiah are a dynamic duo brother and sister team. Both are avid swimmers and soccer players and have recently found new passion for the ocean and boogie-boarding. Isaiah used to test alongside Mia who has type 1 when she was first diagnosed to make her feel better about having to prick her finger. It's all about team work.
Susan (Northern California)
Running, swimming or biking are all ways to help manage your diabetes on their own. Susan is taking it to a whole new level as she is training for her first Olympic distance triathlon that includes a swim in the pleasant San Francisco bay
Owen (Southern California)
Owen redefines what being active can mean. A high energy, high spirited entertainer. Owen is a performer in all senses of the word. If he doesn't dazzle you with his Michael Jackson inspired moves he will blow you away with his drum solos. Owen proves that breaking a sweat and having fun don't have to be all work.
Julia (Northern California)
Julia and her mom, Alice make sure that they always have time for a walk around Lake Merritt and the ocasional hike in the woods. So spiders beware these two won't stop till they make it to the top.
Terry (Southern California)
Terry has quite the resume with two full marathons and six half-marathons under his belt. We here at DHF are trying to catch up. Terry is a true inspiration and shows that nothing can hold you back from obtaining you goals or your next PR.
Daniel (Southern California)
Krav Maga training is about as high as it gets on the tough meter. Whether it's punching bags or busting skulls for rugby practice, diabetes hasn't slowed Daniel down the least bit.
Laurent (Paris)
Laurent is our great new friend from France. He is proof that diabetes does not discriminate age, race or nationality. However he is further proof that diabetes is not something that has to take away something from your life and that you can continue to do what you want and love in life. C'est magnifique!
Francis, Margaret and Shavarsh (Australia)
These three amazing people living with type 2 diabetes did the Big Blue Test in Sydney. They are all involved in the “Beat It” Physical Exercise and Lifestyle Program, run by the Australian Diabetes Council. A little bird told us Shavarsh would have loved directing the shoot himself!
Heather (Alabama)
Heather and team are nothing short of real world miracle workers. They are truly on the front lines helping people manage their diabetes everyday. Whether it's teaching about diets, how to use meters, or just providing and kind ear to talk to, Heather and her team are what it's all about.
To all of you: thank you for your inspiring stories, your passion and your energy! Together, we can help many more people, by doing the Big Blue Test, between November 1 and November 14.
