There was an interesting programme on the nature of things. They made an argument that blue light at an inappropriate hour destroys our melathonin needed for a good night sleep.

The video says only available in Canada (cheap of our CBC)but perhaps our American friends will be able to access the text and comments.
There was an American scientist that this phenomena causes a substantial increase in breast cancer and it is being blamed for the growing amount of obesity. You wonder if this hormonal disruption has something to do with the increasing popularity of diabetes.

Comment by Judith on December 9, 2012 at 7:53pm Anthony, my friend, I have no way to answer this one, though I followed your link, of course. BUT, what I love is that people are paying attention to the important role LIGHT plays in the cycles of our lives.
I've felt it in my bones for years. I have artist friends who work night shifts and now folks are finally recognizing that their gastrointestinal difficulties might be due to being so off-cycle.
Anyway, this article is a rough introduction to what I feel is a very important subject.
I know nothing about "blue light" per se. But photo sensitivity definitely needs to be considered.....Thanks for the post...Judith in Portland
