As a challenge for Health Seeker, a Facebook application for diabetics, I am seeking a weight loss buddy.

As a bit of personal history, I am 41 years old, diagnosed with Type 1 38 years ago. I take multiple injections daily, but hope to go on a pump soon. I am 5'9" and at my heaviest was 193 pounds. Around 185 has been my norm the past couple years. I used to drink a lot of beer, and dropped to 175 in 6 weeks just by quitting drinking.

I'd like to get below 160. I think a weight loss buddy would help in that regard, and perhaps even be an online support for other areas of our diabetes. I don't know exactly what being an "online weight loss buddy" would entail, but anyone interested can contact me and we discuss our individual goals.

I am a Motivational Speaker on Weight Loss. I am 85 years young. I lead a Weight Loss group of 34 every Wednesday morning. I have lost 56 pounds and have kept it off 17 years.

I coined this word. DIET DELIGHT IN EATING THOUGHTFULLY!!!

MOVE MORE EAT LESS

Thanks for the advice, Seagator. I'm not obese by any means. But I think I'm at least 10 or 15 pounds from where I ought to be. Losing my beer belly and cutting out the excess are my goals. I do best with setting small challenges for myself, with rewards/punishments for successes/failures. Having someone hold me accountable would work.

My best friend weighed 465. He had to go to an industrial plant to get weighed. He went by 5 pounds good 5 pounds reward and lost over 270 pounds. Just by taking it slow and easy. 1200 calories 25 fat grams 45 carbs a day you should lose 2 pounds a week.

Watch portion sizes no junk food in the house eat from a salad plate blue (mind game) put your fork down between pies.

The most fattening thing you can put in an apple pie is a FORK.
Humor is good too.

How do you measure the work of volunteers?

329,040 minutes, 329,040 moments so dear. 329,040 minutes — How do you measure, measure volunteers? In smileys, in tears shed, in counsel, in cups of coffee. In units, in carb counts, in laughter, in strife. In 329,040 minutes – how …
