How's it all going? Do you have any questions or comments?
Hey Bob, welcome to tudiabetes. My daughter is also from Changchun, Jilin! She has been with us since 2006 and just turned six. We really liked the area. This summer we will be traveling to Chaoyang, Liaoning where we will be working in an orphanage. I have always wanted to find a way to work with orphans who have diabetes, but I have been unable to find a way to do so. My doctor says that the rate of type 1 in China is quite low. Is that your experience?
Hello! Well, I am too scared to try the pump. May try the OmniPod, waiting to see how a friend of mine likes it. Someday lol
Hope all is well and take care.
Ohh, Dalian! I hear that it's a very pretty city. I've wanted to get down there, but I've never had a chance since we are usually on a pretty tight schedule.
We usually go over there a couple of times per year, generally based on the semester schedule. My last time there we were in Beijing, ShenYang, Xian, and Zhengzhou. I've been pleased with being able to teach to students from China. Some of our students are from very rural/poor backgrounds, and I like to think that some of the stuff I teach them will help them to break free from the tough past that they may have.
When you go back this summer, make sure to tour the Olympic park in Beijing. It's absolutely beautiful!
I noticed you come from the Jilin Provence in China. I teach courses to students overseas, and I've traveled to ShenYang several times to visit a university there. The last time we were there, we visited Benxi, which is very close to Jilin.
