I'm not sure if you're somehow already aware of this, but there's a T1 women's group that meets in Oakland once a month. I can ask the woman who runs it to put you on the mailing list if you'd like. Even the mailing list itself is helpful. People ask questions and exchange ideas-- I've found it to be a great resource.
Of course, I'm going to Diabetes Sisters! I went to the conference they held in San Diego in 2011, and had a great time. Wouldn't miss this one for the world! :-) And glad you're helping organize -- people don't know how much WORK goes into putting on events like this! I'll be looking forward to meeting you in person, finally!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANNEKE!! Best Wishes NOW....and for the rest of the year! (I love the painting on your piano!!) Have a GREAT "ME" DAY :)

Hello! How Do You Do, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you Hanneke... Best Wishes NOW...and for the rest of the year!
How's it all going? Do you have any questions or comments?
And a happy New Year to you, too, Hanneke! I am gearing myself up to start working on Marais, since I was given a complete set of his books -- I'm playing it pretty badly, but I figure I have to start somewhere, and if I don't start, I will never get anywhere with it! :-)
Hanneke,
I have been type 1 since 1959 and saw my last endo in 1969 and still have no complications. I feel great. I take 2 shots a day, mostly 22 hour Basel and have an A1C of 5.5. I am retired so my days are consistent which helps.

Great! I do know about Diabetes Sisters, though I have never been to a meeting. Maybe I will see you in Oakland sometime...
