Thanks for your words.I am feeling a bit better since I have been off for a few days.I am going to do some basal testing today. My morning blood sugar was 4.1.It's low but not too low that it would prevent me from doing a basal test.I also reduced my night basal as as 2am I was 5.9.That is a 1.8mmol drop.Pretty substantial.I hope you have an easy time at getting your control back.Take care.

Hi Lori!
I think the biggest change is that I have been on an insulin pump for the last year. I was really struggling when I was on MDI. I wouldn't give myself enough insulin and just wasn't really aware of what was going on in my body. Now I have my pump and I wear a CGM. Plus I have started walking at least a couple times a week. I think that has made a HUGE difference. Just getting out and moving!

Hi Lori! Nice to see you here. Like I mentioned, this place has literally saved my life. I hope you can find it even half as useful as I have.

That is OK. We all feel like "infants" when it comes to the knowledge of diabetes. One of the main things about TuDiabetes besides the friendships made is that all the knowledge that is passed along. It was once told to me that if you dont learn something new everyday then you wasted brain space in doing nothing. Again, welcome aboard!!

Your story sounds like mine when I was 10 my thingy though was coke and Mississippi mud pie or was it cake? Anyway VERY VERY sweet. I done all u just talked about. I was staying with my g-father and drinking like a fish, going to the bathroom all the time (right after drinking a gallon of water every 5 minutes) and I lost in 2 weeks from 110 to 69 pounds. My g-father told my mom there was something wrong with me. So I remember it so well when I was diagnosed (some memories u never forget huh??) we went to the county dr in a small town on Saturday after hearing my sympyoms he sent me to the county hospital for a blood draw & told my mom & g-father to do the "Saturday shopping" when we got back home my dad who was closing in our porch to make the "red room" (Had red carpet in it) told my mom that the dr had called her & told her to take me to a dr in Jackson (a good hour from where we lived) and I pretty much cried the whole way b/c I had a 1st cousin who was a Type 1 and I knew she had to take shots the rest of her life. I guess you could say I knew the word DIABETES from her. Anyway we got to the dr and he told my mom & dad to take me to the Jackson hospital ASAP there I learned how to give a shot to an orange and stayed 3 weeks there. Yep I had a virus too but it was also running rapid in my family. Now I got like 7 cousions with Type 1

Welcome to the family!! On this forum you will learn so much. Most of all you will learn that you are not alone. Everyone here is supportive and will provide answers to your questions. Search the site for answers. Read the discussions and blogs for information. There are videos to help you understand diabetes and its treatment. Most of all there is family to talk to and even to vent to, if needed. Welcome home.
