Hi Mr Gator. Yes rain here again too. Very wet. Today I worked on my sump pump hose. I also worked on the Lions Parade today and have a meeting on that tonight. Hope you and Russ getting better. My BG has been good.
the rain is here in New Jersey. oh, I forgot, I almost ran over a deer on the way home. We put the corned beef in the crock pot this morning. I like to add some fresh or dried orange peel in addition to the usual spices. it smells good. I got some half price swiss cheese the other day, so all I need for your recipe is the squash. I think an entire can of saurkraut sounds like too much. actually I have made up something just like your recipe for the microwave, except I add a touch of homemade Russian dressing. everything on the reuben except the bread.
hi Reed, hope Russ can get in sooner. there's few things worse than not being able to get enough sleep day after day. We had "take-in" day at the guild, when everyone showing quilts at the show (May 19-20) had to bring in their quilt. so I got to see a lot of them. really nice. next week will be the judging, my favorite day ever. I will be the scribe coordinator, my usual job. the scribes have to write down everything exactly that the judges say. it's fascinating. we do things very seriously.
ed doesn't get depressed like I do. just his personality I guess, he's very good natured. bg 112, well there's a bit of good news.
Hi Reed. I agree with Marie that you need a plan for when Russ stops driving. I know there are social service organizations who might be able to help. I didn't get much done here today. Went downtown for a bit and then spent the afternoon reading. I am looking forward to a sound sleep tonight. Your friend who got the transplant is extremely lucky to only have waited 2 months. I was told the wait time averaged 5-7 years. One man on my unit had received three transplants from family members - wife, son and brother. Each had worked for a couple of years and then failed. I cannot imagine going through such major surgery 3 times and still end up with nothing. I hope Chico was a good kitty today and behaved well.
It's been a L-O-N-G day here, and got home well after 5! Got dinner going, and did the birthdays and new members! I'm pooped! Now....going to watch a little tv :) So....hope all is ok at your end Reed(((HUGS)))...and good night, linda
Hi Reed We have had so much rain today it was unbelievable!! It started during the early hours and is still raining now, really heavy too!! Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day and we'll maybe see a little sunshine. Having my bloods done tomorrow and hopeful will be able to lowe the steroids when I see the doc later in the week. BS quite good today with only 1 low so a good day. Take care, Tricia x
Reed, I just got the recipe, thank you SO much! I will post it here in one of the recipe forums when I get a chance. do you happen to have the carb count and number of servings?
HI Reed- Still overcast here and it might rain. BG this AM was 81. Maybe those really low #'s have stopped. Feeling kind of tired today. Think I'll go and take a nap.
I am glad you had a great Mass Mr. Gator. I am working in the yard today on my shrubs. I have some triming and I am putting more mulch around them. Wake up was 83 right on target. I increased my meds again and am taking more metformin at night so I dont have the dawn effect as much. Otherwise I am in the high 90's. Take care. Its nice you have good singers at mass.
Hi Reed, I enjoyed the quilt show. saw many of our guild there. it was in a town in NY very near Connecticut, so every time I saw the signs for Danbury I thought of our other admin here Lorraine. maybe next year when I go I might suggest she meet me there. I know she does some quilting. I didn't buy anything and I brought my own lunch, so it was a cheap date.
I am feeling the usual blah today. tomorrow will be a big day at the guild, we are taking in the quilts for OUR show. it has to be done in a particular way, so of course I'll be there..next Tuesday is judging day, which is hard, but one of my favorite days ever. we have professional certified quilt judges. it's very serious. since I worked on the diabetes quilt most of last year, and a hand appliqued one this year that's not quilted yet, I have nothing to put in this year. it's shameful really. I hope we have a good show.
so what does Tom think about Russ driving? you need a plan. we finally got my mom to stop driving when she was 86. my nephew told me a policeman stopped her when she was driving on a bicycle path. she's constantly asking people to drive her places when she could be taking the bus from her place. at least they have a service where she lives that takes people to their doctor's appointments. it's all the other things. say, can another TOPS member pick you up? you can offer to pay for the gas. I'm sure you've already thought of that. bg 126
Hi Reed. I did not go to the spring festival today as it was terribly cloudy and looked like rain. It never did rain, so now I am disappointed. I did get a lot of straightening done and sorted out my summer clothes. I hope Chico isn't like my niece's cat, Kona, who loves to say hello by biting your fingers....it is very nice of you to help out and take care of him. I hope this weeks brings some calmness to your household.
Hey Reed....very sticky here today. Not good for the ole asthma! Rather disappointed that yesterday's apogee moon was not as impressive as I had hoped! It was overcast in the eastern sky here last night. By the time I could actually see the moon, it had risen in the sky and wasn't as large as what it might have been earlier! Spent quite a while on report cards today, so I rewarded myself with a visit to my friends on Tu. Bet you have your AC going!! ;) Have a good start of the week....hope all will be well with Russ.
Luv and hugs....linda
It's honestly bad when ur ride can't do that for u isn't it??? I know when K got his surgery I had to look for a ride a few times b/c he dose all the driving for me. WE got some thunder stormes last night but apperantly I slept through them K told me about it this morning. SOOOOOO HOT here! I think the high yesterday was 95 not sure though the only thing I can say for sure is my g-mother's house was HOT (remember she won't turn on her a/c) Hope Russ does well! Good luck my friend!!!
Reed, I'm hoping this is something the Dr can help with treatment and medication. I was worried that he may have had a stroke. Usually one of the reasons that causes older folks to lose their ability to walk. These joints, they just get ya no matter what. I'm hoping they can help Russ. Had bursitis in my shoulder many years ago before they operated on it. Felt very debilitating. Take care. My prayers are with all of you. <3 <3 Joanne
Hi Reed. Yest when you said Russ could not walk, I was sure he'd had a stroke. Had there been no evidence of the calcium deposit before? Seems very odd. Today I went to Subway with a former co-worker. We had a nice visit. Then on the way home I stopped at a Cinco de Mayo celebration that was held in a Hispanic neighborhood near me. But, it was drizzling quite heavily so I didn't stay long. The old laptop my sister gave me seems to be working a lot better than my other computer. I took it to a local shop and they cleaned it up and installed the softwear for my printer so I think it'll hold me for a year or maybe two. Tomorrow a children's theater has its "Welcome Spring" festival at a large park. There is a parade. Best thing is, anyone can be in the parade. Just walk along with everybody else and say "happy spring". It is really fun. But again, rain may crush it. I am not going if it rains. I hope tomorrow is a better day at your house. At the store they were giving away samples of turkey sausage. It was utterly delicious. Then I looked at the label and each link had 1000 mg of sodium, which is half my daily allowance. So I had to be strong and walk on by...
OMG Reed I wish the best for Russ. I know the feeling "What else can go wrong???" I'm pretty much living it everday around here right now. We got 6 more PT sessions to do we're 1/2 way trough now. That WORKS!!! I promise u I felt like they were trying to kill me and K the 1st day LOL!

Thank you! Just trying to navigate my way around the site. I need to figure out how to post on the forum. Wish me luck!
