Hi REed, I am doing okay. I have been busy and also not up to par lately. Just taking it easy and have some doctor appts coming up. Glad your BS is good. Mine has been awful. Hope you have a nice weekend and take care xo
Sory but just now getting around to answer u. Yesterday?? Well I've had better days that's 4 sure. I hope everything got taken care of at the Drs office for Russ. Please listen to Marie if u need to take a day or 2 (or more) off we will all understand. Sometimes life gets in the way right??? K has no more pt either. AS for the bloakage issues he's having we should find out something next month. Life huh??? I read somewhere that it must have been a 35 year old that said the olden days were gold but they just hadn't lived them yet (or something like that) and although I'm only 49 I tend to agree with that. This last 2 months have showed me that! LOL!
hi Reed, hope you had a good night. just thought I'd tell you, the Chelsea gig is out - they called last night - some lame excuse, basically, again, you're too old. bg 133
Hi Reed- I saw where you were worried about getting to each of us everyday. DON'T WORRY !! BE HAPPY!! We know you are busy with Russ and his health problems. Just take care of yourself and do your cooking at Reed's Diner for the menfolk at Gator Hotel. Hope you have a restful weekend. As a veteran, Thank you for your service to our Country. ((((Hugs))))) Cat
Hi Reed Just saw some of your posts ans wanted to say it's ok if you don't send me a note every day. I know you have a lot to deal with and need to take a break now and then. Happy to hear from you once a week if it helps. No drops in my steroids yet. I go for my bloods done next week after I come home with Mum and then will drop down to 11 (can't wait). Had a couple of major lows this week but ok on the whole. Take good care and speak soon. Tricia x
now Reed, not ONE of us can "get to all our friends here" - even every week sometimes. I was on almost all day yesterday catching up and doing admin duties, and somehow I still missed it that lots had been in the hospital lately. now just take a deep breath, and if you want, take the day off.
I was thinking cod for tonight too. I love to make fish tacos with code. I have some nice avocados and I could make some guacamole. I made some good bread yesterday, I think I figured a few things out. I had a good night's sleep even though I woke up at 4 with a low. I was supposed to go to the endo today, but he cancelled. I want him to change my basals so I don't go low at night. crazy because I went to bed at 133. it's always something. ed says he won't hear about the Chelsea thing until at least Monday. I'm trying not to think about it.
Good morning Reed, how are your knees doing today? I hope that you are not hurting too bad. Are you planning on getting the shots for them again. Today it is overcast and muggy here. I am planning on going for a long walk with my IPOD today. I have a route that I used to walk and I am going to take a chance and see if I can make it all the way around. It is about 2.5 miles so going slow and steady it will take me a while. Hope the rain holds off until I get back. Who knows, rain might cool things off. Wishing you a lovely Friday. Hope that you are hanging in there with the Florence Nightengale working so hard has got to be rough. Do you think that you can get some help with taking care of Russ. Miss seeing your smiling face on my page, but I know you are tired and busy. I will make a special purple one for you. Take care, (((((Hugs))))). Lots
Good morning Reed ♥ I'm staying home today. I woke up with the start of a migraine headache, mostly due to the heat and humidity...but I'm sure the stress of the report cards has a role to play there (102 of them)! Though it gets loud here with the little ones, at least we have AC....and a bed! With my classroom like an oven at times, I would end up feeling like the bottom of the birdcage! So, it's an early TGIF for me! Our kids and theirs are still here, but not for much longer. Our son Timothy and his wife are interested in a quaint house not too far from ours, likely moving in the end of June. Our daughter Danielle, after much searching, has filled an application for a lovely apartment in a quiet area, a stone throw from the main library, the theatre, the art gallery and a lovely park. So you see, we may soon be back to our boring quiet lives after all ;) Timothy and Steph are planning for a third and last child once they've settled into their house....and hoping for a little girl. How's it all going at YOUR end? I agree with cat that you cannot and SHOULD not be Florence Nightigale all by yourself....you need someone to come in on a regular basis. I was on Coumadin in my early 20s due to a clotting problem, and was in for blood tests every week. A mere paper cut would take forever to stop bleeding! Big hugs....and a blessed weekend, linda
OK, Reed, we will all be just fine if you send us a group message each day with just a line or two, saying how everybody is doing. Do not feel obligated to write individual messages. We understand. Can Russ move about otherwise and just as trouble getting up? Can you hire someone to come in just for an hour or so and help him? You cannot take this all on yourself, even if you find an assistive device at the medical supply store. My handyman cannot come until next week to put the a/c in. But my building is very thick brick so takes a real long time to heat up. And I have been keeping all the blinds closed. We did not have any tornadoes last night, but there was flooding in some areas of the state and a lot of water in basements. What next? Here is a flower pic especially for you.
Hello Reed, hope things are improving and glad Tom is there to help. Hope you can so well needed rest. Got a great AOK from the Dr and my labs were amazing. My A1c was 5.4. That just blows my mind. So despite all the issues I'm still having that seems to make it all worth while. Today (the 25th) is Joe's birthday. Had lots and LOTS of rain the last 24 hrs. Heavy thunderstorms, wish i could send you some. Stay well my friend <3 <3 Joanne
Hi Mr Gator. So sorry to here about Russ. Coumadin is tricky stuff and needs to be monitored closely. Dad had it and he was always getting goofed up. I said prayers in the Luminous mystery this morning for the gator house. I hope they help,. Wage up was 82 bg. Take good care. Hang in there. Pauly
Hi Reed- My parents were both on coumadin for many years. They each had their blood tested weekly. If it isn't watched it can be very dangerous. I am glad the reason for the black and blue marks was determined. Russ' doc should have known it was the coumadin if he was on it. After a few days , when he goes back on it, he should have his blood tested everyday. Get a home care nurse to come and do it. He will have to go back on it, but with a lower dose. It keeps people from having a stroke. But it must be WATCHED carefully. You certainly are the ladies man today. Hope you had a nice break from home and Russ while with the ladies. Take care. Cat
No no need is trying to make it all rosey when it isn't. I agree with Marie about the cumadin. K has had things like beeeding too. it's became totally uncontrollabe at times we got 2 small dogs and one is always scraching his leg and the bleeding from a scratch is unbelivable. i'm sol sorry for russ there. i totaly understand the things hes going through there with the brusing and bleeding. I hate that his comutin level is so high but hopefully the dr can do something for him there
U be sure to care for urself during this time. I know how easy it is to forget about urself when someone u love is going through what Russ is but PLEASE take care of urself
Hi Reed, Good Morning, Off to the diabetes check up today with a whopping good BG, 93, I will take it! You would be so proud of me losing weight, it is melting off now. I got taken off five medications and no edema anymore or water weight to be found. Today it is overcast, light rain, and I will take that too, much nice cooler weather if you ask me. Don't care for humidity and heat, but hopefully will get used to it. I am glad at least that they found a reason for the black and blue that Russ had, you think they would take a closer reign on that medication since it seems to be so volitale for him. Wishing you a calm day, I hope Russ found a good book and is resting, and that you are getting some rest too. I hope you had a nice time with the girls at your TOPs after meal. I bet it is a treat for them to give you a ride home, probably enjoy the company of a sweet gentleman like you at the restaurant. Hoping for you a good luck Thursday. Thanks for all that you do here at Tu and for sharing your troubles because we care and need to hear what is going on with our special friends, you and Russ. Give my best to Russ, Ellen
Keeping you and Russ in prayer. I always look foward to reading you. I hope that your tomorrow is better....and that all will be well with Russ (and yourself). Many hugs.....linda
Oh Reed - that dang coumadin! If you ask me, it's nothing but trouble. I am so glad you got out today and got to go to lunch. It always helps to have a break. It is pitch black here at 7 pm - I am waiting for the sirens to go off, and sticking close to the tv. The bike path 1/2 block away i swarming with riders, so maybe I'm more concerned thanthe average person.
I thought I had an appointment with the shrink tomorrow, but checked my calendar and it is a week from tomorrow. I might head over anyway because the used booktore across from the clinic is starting its annual Memorial Day sale - everything an additional 30% off. I best take my backpack on wheels. Sigh.
