HEY REED....thanks for the update. It bothers me how some folks are like vultures! Fancy that cousin of yours coming out of the woodwork and asking for the coffee pot....no shame! My father and my aunt (his sister) were very much that way with their mother.,...trying to see who could get what, and she....my gr mother...THEIR mother, still alive! I told my dad....what ever you get....I want nothing to do with it, as it's not right! Eventually, I got very little...as I live in another province, and when my grandmother passed....I was not there to choose. All the good stuff went to my cousins, who lived nearby. Their mother (she's my dad sister/my Godmother) made darn sure that HER own kids got the pricey stuff). I just didn't want to be part of that scavenger hunt. How are your knees? Still plugging away at the report cards here. Tonight is an open house at school, and each level has to give a presentation (that includes me)! (sigh) I should hopefully be done by 9. I've already set up my classroom, and I'll go in half an hour before I'm due to give my presentation....just to be on the safe side!
This Saturday, I've signed up to volunteer at a diabetes expo, via the Canadian Diabetes Association....I do this every year. Sunday, I'm supposed to usher at church....but will see if I can change the date so that I may take Mason to church. I was asked to be on the executive committee with our Catholic Women's League at church...was going to, but suddenly got smart....and decided against it....I have SO many things on my plate already....holy moly, if I get any spare time I should save it for "me" time! So....congratulation to you, and indeed to all of us, on this...WORLD DIABETES DAY!
luv and hugs.....linda

Hi Reed! Sorry I didn't get back to you on your last message. I have been taking care of the pets at my daughter Sherry's house while she and her husband have been visiting family in CA. She has 3 dogs,3 cats, and a bearded dragon lizard. I go to her house 3 times a day. Sometimes the dogs go to the bathroom in the house and I clean up after them. My daughter Laura here started getting hrs again at JC Penney, so Jon and I have been driving her back and forth to work every day. Its been hard getting everything all in with getting Alex off to school and getting him to get his homework done. He is behind in his reading skills and still at the later 2nd grade, to 3rd grade level by his recent testing. He is in the 4th grade. I'm very worried about this. His stuttering makes it difficult to have him read a book out loud, so we take turns reading with him. He is in a regular 4th grade classroom, with an aide, but I don't know how much help he gets. The speech teacher is leaving for maternity leave and they are trying to get a replacement. She is the coordinator for all the help he is supposed to be getting. This worries me too. Alex seems pretty happy. His teacher called last week because he had been defiant in doing his work in class and talking when he wasn't supposed to. We all talked to him about it. I've been trying to get him to say yes mam and no mam, something he wasn't taught when he was with his Dad. He says hes has been doing that now. He came home with a lot of work he has been doing in class and there is a lot of stuff that wasn't completed. He comes home with a "skill sheet" every week that has his homework on it which we make sure its done. He had a sort of mid term report come home which said he was doing good in the classes he is graded for,A's, B's, and C's. I think the child needs a tutor, and maybe private speech classes, but we aren't financially able to pay that right now. Alex does not have any insurance right now which Jon has been trying to work on. Hes trying to get medicaid for him. Mass insurance he has is not accepted down here. Alex is enjoying his scooter! He rides it on the weekend and has started going down to the little girls house down the st to play with them. He and Hally ride their scooters together and their grandma whom they live says he can ride it in their driveway even when they aren't home. Alex was real disappointed because last weekend they were away visiting their Dad (Great Grandma is the one who has custody of them). The girls are 1st grade and 5th grade. Oldest is Leia and I think Alex likes her because she reminds him of his sister. Alex does say he misses Tori, his 14 yr old sister who still lives with her Dad in Mass. He does talk to Tori, his Dad, and his girlfriend sometimes over "Skype" on the computer.
They have started using the fistula in Jon's arm in dialysis, but have some problems. Sometimes they can't stick it with the needles right and get it to work. Jon gets frustrated because he wants the chest catheter taken out. If they can't use the fistula, they can go back to the catheter. In fact they have still been using both sometimes. He has had 2 days he felt bad after dialysis. One day we know it was his blood pressure being low. Yesterday he says he felt like he was getting a cold. Laura (who has asthma) seems to have a cold now. It will be only a matter of time where her asthma will get bad again and she will be back to the ER like last month. Oh, and the other day it rained and we had water pouring in through a light fixture in the kitchen. Had a new roof put on and they think it was that. Jon had a plumber come to check the pipes in the attic and all, but he didn't find anything. The roofer guys came, now we wait to see what happens the next time it rains. I will write more when I have time. I know you've had the knee and leg pains which are pretty unbearable, so I do pray for you and your friend. Think about you guys a lot! Its gotten cold here, enough to wear w

Hi Mr Gator. Yes I finished up with the Cemetery records. No one in the group wants to do it but I guess its a corporal work of mercy for those departed.
I will say prayers for you and Kathy today when I do the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Both you guys need some help now. Wakeup this morning was 78 BG. I am still working on adjusting my medicine. Take good care. Pauly
Good morning Gator. I am on my way to get some fasting blood tests. Why am I never hungry until someone tells me not to eat? Now I am fantasizing about breakfast, but I guess I can look forward to stopping for some eggs somewhere on the way home. It was 74 yesterday and sunny. This morning the temperature dropped down to 43 and it is raining. Have you noticed all the Christmas advertising? Seeing all the Christmas stuff already seems funny. I hope you had a nice Veteran's Day. Ellen

Just a quick note Reed to let you know I am still kickin'. Just feel very depressed and blah and emotionally upset.
Tomorrow might be better. Hugs.
Hi Mr Gator, I am glad you had a full day and you got to meet your friend from Maine.
I worked on paperwork, talked to a childhood friend, and a co worker I used to work with who called.
I went to early morning mass and said prayers for you and Russ and Kathy. The Preist was glad I came, he gets a kick out of me think.
