Hi Mr Gator. I was feeling under the weather last night and went to bed early. I missed bible study. I am feeling a little better this morning. I think it was my blood pressure pills again.

I am sorry for all your pain. I prayed for intercession from the Blessed Mother for you this morning in my prayers. I know you are in a tough patch right now.

Weather is warm.

Hello Reed. Sorry for being MIA. Lots to do for my Mom, work etc. Almost have the bathroom completed. Had a terrible Sunday --> Monday. Pete had a toothache. It was so bad. I gave him A LOT of medicine for pain or to sleep but it didn't help. He could not sleep with the pain. Had root canal & a crown done today. Had a really badly infected tooth & is on Penicillin & Vicodin for now.We are all going to Brian's but I am helping to cook. Bringing Pumpkin pies, Apple tarts, sweet potatoes & pineapple stuffing. hard for Toni to do it all and nurse a 4 month old baby too. Plus it's stuff my boy look forward to having every year so i don't mind. Hope you get relief from your knee pain. Cold here. I really hate it. Pete has the whole week off so I am happy for that. Brian just got some of his research published in a scientific magazine. It is 8 page article. He has been published before but this is a big one. And it is look like Kevin & Jen will be moving to NY by the end of January =( Hate to see them go further away especially with the new baby coming in Spring.
Well Take care & Have a very Happy Thanksgiving. <3 <3 Joanne

Oh Reed I am such a mess. Now I have severe pain in my ear and pink eye so it's another trip to Urgent Care tomorrow morning. After this is over, I hope I'll have paid my dues for the next several months.
Just watched a documentary on PBS about the dust bowl years - very depressing.

Hi Reed,
I am sorry to hear about your knees. When you are in a lot of pain and that makes it so you can't sleep, I know it can get absolutely miserable. I saw a special report on CNN on pain medication last night that was very sobering. People in the US take over 80% of the pain pills in the world, and there has been a huge increase in people dying of heart attacks from taking them. Prescription pain pills cause suppression of the respiration because they, in addition to stopping pain, slow down the breathing and heart rate too.
Make sure if you take pain pills that they are prescribed by your doctor, who is following you closely. This problem is so alarming that the government is starting a special investigation on the use of prescription pain medications.
If you take that Percocet don't take sleeping pills or antidepressants at the same time. Have your doctor check all your other medications for interactions, even like blood pressure medication or others. Make sure that you never drink any alcohol when taking pain medications. Tell Russ too.
I have been having a lot of pain in my muscles, muscle spasms and joint pain, so I am on Tramadol. It helps and it is a good choice because it is not an opiate. I saw the doctor a few days ago, a new one, and she told me the the joints need a LOT of water to stay cushioned and not rub together and that muscles get filled with all kinds of yucky stuff nowadays from prescribed medications, processed foods and environmental toxins that needs to be flushed out. She said absolutely to drink a liter of water a day and do not count other drinks in your liquid intake. If you want to drink other beverages they should be counted as extra. I have done this for two days and have noticed a good improvement in pain.
Is it possible for you to get a referral from your doctor to a pain clinic? I am going to get one and if they give me tips for pain I will be sure to pass them on.
I am going to work today for the first time in a long while. I still feel iffy but I hpe going part time will be helpful. I don't have to stay all day and I am lucky that Thanksgiving is this week, because I will get Thursday off. When I get there I know it will be a mess. I guess the temp they hired in my spot is clueless and might even be gone by now. If not I will need to train her, maybe she will be fine if she gets trained properly.
My excellent co-worker will be gone for three weeks. She went home to Vietnam to visit her family. I am so excited for her. She is the best worker I have ever met, and I am going to have my hands full without her.
I really hope that I am not going back too soon, I don't feel that great but I am so sick of being cooped up in the house that I am going to give it a try. My BGs are pretty good now so that is a plus.
I have wanted to see the movie Lincoln for a long time too, ever since I saw it being advertised on TV. I think it will be an excellent movie. He is one of my all time heroes. Did you know that he suffered from terrible depression all his life? Still he did so many extraordinary things.
I am really worried about what is going on with Israel and Palestine. I sure hope that everyone over there can get it together before we get into a big war. That is the last thing that this world needs. It is so upsetting that nations can't figure out how to cooperate, compromise and get along. Fighting and arguing doesn't do anyone any good. Ugh, I am breaking my rule of never talking politics.
Today it is supposed to get up to 54 degrees and be partly sunny. That is a good way to start the week.
Did you get your turkey picked out yet? I guess I better think about getting one. I really love turkey as long as it comes out nice and moist. I love having the leftovers for soup and sandwiches.
Zen is well. She is my alarm clock. Every morning about five or six she jumps on me and wakes me up.
Good luck with the call to the orth

Hi Reed. I talked with Linda a bit in the chatroom. Now I'm going to see if I have enough strength to do a little vacuuming.
Your new grill sounds nice. Will you make the turkey on it?
Yes, we are all waiting for a pic of Chico.
Hope this week is better for you.

So sorry to hear of your knees dear Reed :(
Freezing rain at YOUR end....warm and sunny here!! Should be the other way around! Around 26C here....that's somewhere near 80F. Now....if we had that for Winter...and perhaps a week's worth of snow or 2, for the skier in me, I'd be ok. Was ushering today....a teenage girl passed out. Good thing that we're always 3 on the team. First thing when someone is faint...I always ask if they have a medical condition (in the back of my mind I'm always ready for a diabetes low).
Your Thanksgiving is coming up! I see below in Kathy's comment that you order your turkey...is it an organic fed turkey? Save a bit for Chico!
Take care....thanks for your prayers. It's something I do also....for all ♥ There can NEVER be too few prayers!
baskets of hugs....linda

Hi Reed. Just laid on the couch today and watched movies. Glad you got your turkey ordered. What kind of stuffing will you have?
Are you getting a new grill at Home Depot? That is a store I could go crazy in. Love it.
You know, if you need the Percoset, then take it. We all need to be careful with strong pain meds, but I'm sure the doc wouldn't have given it to you without trusting that ou can take it wisely. So don't suffer unnecessarily.
Wow I just checked the temp and it is 53 degrees. And I haven't been outside for over a week.
Have a good Sunday.

Hello Reed, checking in and saying HI! Clothes dryer failed yesterday after (estimated) 25 years of faithful service. I checked a few things and think it's a $14 igniter... worth a try. Then I fixed the pipe banging from the dishwasher. Plumbing can go smooth or can be brutal, fortunately this one was pretty smooth. Now relaxing and looking forward to dinner. Got back from Elkton Va Thursday - the manufacturing problems were resolved - had to drive my own truck because FEMA has every single rental car reserved in the Tri-State. sorry about the carbon footprint. Take care Reed!

yes Reed, it is impossible to prove, because they just say, "we've decided to go in another direction". or some such bullhockey. mom is getting them to move some of her furniture into the new place. she had 4 rooms, now 2 smaller ones. I'm glad she has a bathroom that will accommodate her walker and also a walk in shower.

we washed all the windows today, it now looks nice looking out again. Sandy really whipped up the dirt and rain on them. one of our neighbors lost 9 trees.

It's taken me all day to have a normal blood sugar. woke up at 4 with a 195, so I took a bolus, by 7 I was even worse 268, feeling just terrible (like the flu) so I changed out and took a big bolus. just took a nice walk and hope I'm good to go.

Hi Mr Gator, sorry about your knees and hope they are a little better.

This morning I went to Mass in South Minneapolis with our mens group to hear a priest on Virtues. We had mass, breakfast, and then the talk. Father was a good speaker, he teaches here at the seminary.

I said prayers for all you guys on the Gator Board. Warm weather again. BG was 81 on wakeup this morning.

Hi Reed,
I can't believe that you had to pay all that money to change your legal paperwork. Next they will be charging for us to breathe. Sorry to hear that your knees are giving you so much pain. I am on some medication for pain called Tramadol, and I don't like it because I still have pain and all I want to do is sleep! I am tired of being tired.
I can't believe it is time for Thanksgiving already, I just remember summer starting and now here it is with Christmas decorations up in the store already. Did you get a new grill yet? Do you have an electric one? We are not supposed to have grills where I live. It is against the rules but if you look, there is one on just about every deck.
It was warm out this morning and I didn't need a coat but coming home from the restaurant it was freezing and I was glad I brought my coat. I left the window open for the cat and now the bedroom feels like ice. Thank goodness for fuzzy pink bathrobes. I have the heating pad warming up the bed and guess who is on it now? Zen.
Today I went to a new doctor. Finally I have my own doctor, the only one from now on, internal medicine, and no more running around to all these different specialists. She was so smart and nice and she spent a lot of time with me and explained that she is into the whole mind body medicine, so I ended up feeling really happy with her. I just had bad liver tests and need an ultrasound, but she thinks that I am good enough to start back to work on Monday. I am excited! I am going to start out working four days for six hours each day. I wasn't even thinking about Thanksgiving, perfect timing to go back just in time for a paid holiday!
We stopped at Apple-bee's on the way home for dinner and I had steak and shrimp. It was strange, nobody there except a few tables, and on Friday. I think people around here are running out of money to go out to eat.
It is already dark out and it is only early evening. Well, hope you have a nice night and the Percocet helps with the knees. Ellen
