Thanks for the nudge on member feature! I've been approving what seems like a ton of new members and forgot I needed to keep on top of the features as well! Oops! Happy Thanksgiving!
Good Morning Gator, was listening to Pauly's music on his page-and thought about you and how it is hard to get people to go to church at times-and you,if at all possible you are always there.Quite an example..Have a good day sweet Gator..
Oh Reed, I wrote a nice long comment this afternoon and now see that it didn't take. I am mad. In summary I got drops for both eyes and ears after waiting 2.5 hours for Urgent care and 1 hour for pharmacy. Got home just wiped out, laid down and now I am wide awake.
Hi Gator. I went back to work for two days, have the rest of the week off for Thanksgiving. It is actually quite fun to be back at work! The whole program fell completely apart while I was gone and everyone is so happy I am back to fix it. Actually mostly caught up with all my friends and co-workers and it took me one whole day just to take care of all the emails and phone messages. Today I cleaned my office, it was pretty dusty and developed my master plan for when I go back on Monday and really get busy. I am glad that you got your shots and hope you are out of pain. Can you take some extra insulin to lower your BG, you should ask your doctor for a fast acting pen and just use that to lower it so you won't feel yucky. I am SO happy that you are going to go to the pain clinic. I think it will really help. I got a referral to go as well, but it takes a while to get in. BF is busily preparing for Thanksgiving already. We are having his friend over because his wife is out of town. He is supposed to be very nice, He is a retired police officer. It will be fun to meet him. There will be four of us. I need to fix up the house so I will do that tomorrow. Tonight I am just going to read books and relax. Take care. Ellen
Gator.Sending you a calm song I have been listening to.Thinking of leaving,I think not-your stuck with us :) Hope you are better and will feel more relief soon.Take care friend.
HI Reed- So sorry your knees are giving you so much pain. Jim is still trying to regulate his coumadin. His INR won't go above 1.5. It is frustrating him. And I plan to write a Blog about a good friend who passed away on Saturday. He and Jim were best friends for 50 years. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Cat
Hi Mr Gator. I was feeling under the weather last night and went to bed early. I missed bible study. I am feeling a little better this morning. I think it was my blood pressure pills again.
I am sorry for all your pain. I prayed for intercession from the Blessed Mother for you this morning in my prayers. I know you are in a tough patch right now.
Good morning Reed.... Still working on report cards here....have NOT had the parent teacher interviews....we'll see who signs up! The sign up sheets are in the main hallway....10 signed up for me so far....it's for the end of first week of Dec. Next...French Club, so working on that too! I'll write more later....your Thanksgiving is this Thursday, and thought I'd send you this ;) Have a great day, hugs....linda ♥
Hello Reed. Sorry for being MIA. Lots to do for my Mom, work etc. Almost have the bathroom completed. Had a terrible Sunday --> Monday. Pete had a toothache. It was so bad. I gave him A LOT of medicine for pain or to sleep but it didn't help. He could not sleep with the pain. Had root canal & a crown done today. Had a really badly infected tooth & is on Penicillin & Vicodin for now.We are all going to Brian's but I am helping to cook. Bringing Pumpkin pies, Apple tarts, sweet potatoes & pineapple stuffing. hard for Toni to do it all and nurse a 4 month old baby too. Plus it's stuff my boy look forward to having every year so i don't mind. Hope you get relief from your knee pain. Cold here. I really hate it. Pete has the whole week off so I am happy for that. Brian just got some of his research published in a scientific magazine. It is 8 page article. He has been published before but this is a big one. And it is look like Kevin & Jen will be moving to NY by the end of January =( Hate to see them go further away especially with the new baby coming in Spring. Well Take care & Have a very Happy Thanksgiving. <3 <3 Joanne
Oh Reed I am such a mess. Now I have severe pain in my ear and pink eye so it's another trip to Urgent Care tomorrow morning. After this is over, I hope I'll have paid my dues for the next several months. Just watched a documentary on PBS about the dust bowl years - very depressing.
GREAT! Glad u did!!!!! We all go to my g-mothers for Thanksgiving it will be a full house there this time we're doing good here i got a clod but taking it one day at a time feel MUCH better than yesterday life u know lol
hi Reed, I'm not feeling good, up all night coughing and had a bad time just before dinner where my bg went sky high (changed my set, but it took hours to flush out the ketones).
I'll check in with you later, we're going to be packing 172 Thanksgiving food bags for needy ppl today at Project Self Sufficiency. you might remember I do this every year, we were ther Friday and it was a big job. bg 152, hugs
Hi Reed, I am sorry to hear about your knees. When you are in a lot of pain and that makes it so you can't sleep, I know it can get absolutely miserable. I saw a special report on CNN on pain medication last night that was very sobering. People in the US take over 80% of the pain pills in the world, and there has been a huge increase in people dying of heart attacks from taking them. Prescription pain pills cause suppression of the respiration because they, in addition to stopping pain, slow down the breathing and heart rate too. Make sure if you take pain pills that they are prescribed by your doctor, who is following you closely. This problem is so alarming that the government is starting a special investigation on the use of prescription pain medications. If you take that Percocet don't take sleeping pills or antidepressants at the same time. Have your doctor check all your other medications for interactions, even like blood pressure medication or others. Make sure that you never drink any alcohol when taking pain medications. Tell Russ too. I have been having a lot of pain in my muscles, muscle spasms and joint pain, so I am on Tramadol. It helps and it is a good choice because it is not an opiate. I saw the doctor a few days ago, a new one, and she told me the the joints need a LOT of water to stay cushioned and not rub together and that muscles get filled with all kinds of yucky stuff nowadays from prescribed medications, processed foods and environmental toxins that needs to be flushed out. She said absolutely to drink a liter of water a day and do not count other drinks in your liquid intake. If you want to drink other beverages they should be counted as extra. I have done this for two days and have noticed a good improvement in pain. Is it possible for you to get a referral from your doctor to a pain clinic? I am going to get one and if they give me tips for pain I will be sure to pass them on. I am going to work today for the first time in a long while. I still feel iffy but I hpe going part time will be helpful. I don't have to stay all day and I am lucky that Thanksgiving is this week, because I will get Thursday off. When I get there I know it will be a mess. I guess the temp they hired in my spot is clueless and might even be gone by now. If not I will need to train her, maybe she will be fine if she gets trained properly. My excellent co-worker will be gone for three weeks. She went home to Vietnam to visit her family. I am so excited for her. She is the best worker I have ever met, and I am going to have my hands full without her. I really hope that I am not going back too soon, I don't feel that great but I am so sick of being cooped up in the house that I am going to give it a try. My BGs are pretty good now so that is a plus. I have wanted to see the movie Lincoln for a long time too, ever since I saw it being advertised on TV. I think it will be an excellent movie. He is one of my all time heroes. Did you know that he suffered from terrible depression all his life? Still he did so many extraordinary things. I am really worried about what is going on with Israel and Palestine. I sure hope that everyone over there can get it together before we get into a big war. That is the last thing that this world needs. It is so upsetting that nations can't figure out how to cooperate, compromise and get along. Fighting and arguing doesn't do anyone any good. Ugh, I am breaking my rule of never talking politics. Today it is supposed to get up to 54 degrees and be partly sunny. That is a good way to start the week. Did you get your turkey picked out yet? I guess I better think about getting one. I really love turkey as long as it comes out nice and moist. I love having the leftovers for soup and sandwiches. Zen is well. She is my alarm clock. Every morning about five or six she jumps on me and wakes me up. Good luck with the call to the orth
Hi Reed. I talked with Linda a bit in the chatroom. Now I'm going to see if I have enough strength to do a little vacuuming. Your new grill sounds nice. Will you make the turkey on it? Yes, we are all waiting for a pic of Chico.
Hope this week is better for you.
