oh reed, I forgot to tell you. Today I was helping register people for the PSS "Toy Shop" so their kids will have a few presents under the tree. It's a big undertaking, with lots of volunteers. Wouldn't you know that I happened to get a young mom who happened to be type1 herself? I told her to please join Tu, and wrote the website on a scrap of paper. I really hope she does. she said she'd never met any other type 1s. I said please join and mention my name.
Hi Reed, glad you got the stove worked out. I'm back from my volunteering, I'll go back for the big toy day on the 14th from 8 AM until 4. I've met some nice people who are doing the same thing I am. I'm making ham balls with pineapple tonight. I better bolus a big one what with the pineapple. ed really likes them and it's his birthday weekend.
Hi Reed- Hope your knee is feeling better. Jim is still having trouble w/his INR #. He has another blood test on Monday. I really appreciate your checking in on him in your messages. You are a very special person, even to people you have never met. Perhaps we will meet someday. It feels like winter has arrived in our area. It goes down to the 20's overnight and only 40's during the day. What's new with Chico ? Is he still visiting your apt.? My BG was 114 this morning. Take care. Cat
Reed i might be doing just a bit better today. Who knows. I a making shrimp with polenta for supper. I recall last year you had your tree up quite early. Hope you are having a pain free day.

hi Reed, just a short note, then I'm off to PSS until sometime this afternoon. it's quite cold here. I'm enjoying my new pump, still learning all the features. bg was on the low side last night <100 kept waking me up because I was worried I would go hypo. was 119 at breakfast. glad you heard from Robyn, I need to catch up here, later, gator!
Glad to hear no surgery for you!! Hope Thanksgiving was good for you. I had a nice day. Raining and cold here. Eyes are starting to flicker more and more...eye dr soon. Take care xoxo
Gosh Reed you must have had a really good stove for it to have lasted so long.Things wear out and you have to deal with it. Yes I think I had a relapse. Was better on Mon and Tue and then fell back in the gutter yest and today. I am so frustrated. That was a great presentation Manny gave and with you as a highlighted feature. So very nice. He is such a selfless man.
Tonight I am making brown rice with chicken and mushrooms. Having more groeries delivered tomorrow.
Hi Mr Gator. I am glad you are doing better. I said prayers for you this last night on your high sugars. I hope you dont need a new stove. I am so happy you are getting so much recognition. You deserve it!. Today I am working on Donnas wreath for her grave. I will go to the grave this week and place it on her headstone. I sure miss her during the holidays. :(

Back on Sept 18th you and some other Tudiabetes members left me a really warm and friendly welcoming message that I haven't seen until today now in November as I haven't been back to the site until this afternoon as I've had a period of enduring illness. Thank you - what a lovely gesture. I will bookmark the site now and earmark it to visit each day
oh Reed, so sorry about the stove. Is it just the cooktop, or is it a range. We get Consumer Reports, I could look up and see what they are recommending. I always look for one that's easy to clean, after reliability. some of the new ones have so many parts. I also like sealed burners, if you are able to get gas. at least it's not the day before Thanksgiving. this may put a crimp in Reed's diner.
wow Reed, that is so cool about Manny's letter. It would be extra cool if Manny could meet him. I know he frequently has to go to Boston for a variety of reasons.
Don't know if you've been keeping up with the Care Team, but yesterday we had several people blog about surgeries and family problems and we need to be praying for these people. take a look and make sure you are following activity in the CT. I know your specialty is Ws andBs but anyway.
yesterday afternoon 2 people from Roche came to the house to teach me how to use my new pump. I think I got information overload. anyway, I am wearing the new one and I'm going to master it, right now I'm not using all the bells and whistles but already I can see it's easier. The lady came with her boss, and he installed some software on my computer for me, and gave me a device that will collect all my numbers from the pump and meter if I get anywhere near it. they also gave me some new infusion sets to try, which I will do this morning, I made Ed watch how to insert it so he can help me with it. it's scary to try something new but maybe I'll like these sets better. the cannula seems a little bit more flexible and smaller. wish me luck. Tomorrow I'm volunteering again at Project Self-Sufficiency, now we are on to the Christmas toy drive, another huge thing. I've done it several years now but it still is gripping to see the hundreds of desperate families.
