Hey there Reed!! Poor Russ...must feel odd covered in bandages!! Is it causing him any pain? There is SO MUCH going on here that I nearly made a mistake with dates!! I thought The Catholic Women's League pot luck dinner was today...bought my contribution...wrapped my gift to my Secret Pal...had some canned goods for the collection to the food bank....had my silverware and festive dishes on the counter, ready to go (we're instructed to bring our own dishes)! I called the lady I was suppose to pick up...just to confirm, only to find out that it's for NEXT Tuesday! (feeling rather foolish lol). Tomorrow night , Wednesday, is my turn to teach a Rite of Christian Initiation for Children class at our church. Topic...Advent. I'm doing a class in January also ( all the teachers take turns)...we all get to do a Commandment in January...2 or 3 per night. Guess what mine is...the 9th...You Shall Not Covet Your Neighbour's Wife....that should be a hoot!! The kids...all 19 of them range in age from 7 to 13!!!
This Thursday and Friday....the dreaded parent teacher interviews....not as nerve wrecking as doing the report cards...but nevertheless!! I still have to write out my opening comments!
You'll laugh...report cards went home with the kids on Monday (yesterday), and I overheard one gr 4 say to the other "My teacher did sort of ok"....so I corrected him and said..."You mean YOU did sort of ok". Man!! Ya...don't study...and it's OUR fault!!
Had pork chops tonight...haven't had THAT in a long while...with potatoes and beets! Sorry to hear about the run around with your stove....it's always something isn't it!!! Was VERY warm here today... 60F, with rain and lightning in the afternoon. Never you mind...we'll have it freezing before you know it lol!!
Take care my friend!! All the best with tomorrow's TOPS!
luv and baskets of hugs....linda

Thanks for the welcome.

I sure get frustrated with my RTGM system.

I wish I could figure out how it maps ISIG numbers to real numbers, as it always seems wrong - even after multiple calibrations.

hi Reed, yes, how did the pot roast come out. Yesterday was ed's birthday, the big six-oh. he did not want any fuss. we were going to go out and get some Mexican food (funny the closest restaurant with the best food is Mexican) but then he changes his mind and got a pizza. We hardly EVER have pizza because I have a hard time bolusing correctly for it, but he felt it was a big treat. I felt kinda bad not doing much for his birthday, so this week I'm going to make his absolute favorite meal, moussaka. it's a Greek casserole with lamb and eggplant.

I'm still rather ill and now my nose is going like a fire hose. I'm going to make some holiday goodies this week and freeze. It is going to be very warm this week, the snow all gone. hope your new stove gets in without incident. bg 168

Hi Mr Gator, How did the pot roast turn out? Did you get your stove?

Yesterday I went to mass and then to Donnas brothers for supper. It was very nice. Today I have to meet my sister and my niece for lunch.

My BG was 80 on wakeup. How was yours?

Hi Reed,
Monday Eve already. How is the new stove, did you get one in yet? You will have to tell me all about it. I hope you enjoy using a new one.
That is really awful about your online shopping experience turning out to be so stressful. I am so sorry you had to go through that mess. You must have been seriously mad. Did you get everything straightened out for sure?
I am slowly getting out my decorations for Christmas. The big event of the day for me was hanging the wreath and putting out a red door mat. Well, at least when people go by the door it will look like I have decorated. Some people in the neighborhood have some pretty lights up already. They look so cheerful and pretty.
Tomorrow is my first full week back at work. I have been cleaning my clothes today and got out winter clothes, and now find out it will be in the 60s this week!
I love snow and am hoping for cold, and to get some this year. When I get to work tomorrow I will put away all my Autumn stuff and get my office Christmas decorations put up for the clients.
I went to the hair salon yesterday for a holiday haircut, and they had this stuff I bought called "Sugar Dust," It is supposed to give your hair some body. It comes in a cute little container and works well, and smells lovely. I think I will get a bunch of them for stocking stuffers for my friends.
My hairstylist is having a baby in March and has a four year old named Max. She found something at Hallmark called a "shelf elf," It is an elf statue that is supposed to sit around the house before Christmas and report back to Santa how the kid has been acting. I guess you move it every night, and the kid looks for it, and sometimes the elf brings notes from Santa to tell the kid how he is behaving.
I was thinking that would traumatize me if I was a kid! It would creep me out to have a Santa Spy reporting my behavior. I guess Max was being a bit bad one night, and he hid the elf behind the TV so the elf wouldn't see him getting in trouble!
I think I should get one for work to keep my boss in line! Well, I hope you have a nice week. I hope everything comes out well for Russ with his nose. I will be thinking of him Lots.

Oh Reed you are so funny, about the photo albums. When I was still working I rode a commuter bus that usually had the same people on it. One lady always sat by me and if she wan't crying over some man who had dumped her, she had pictures, each with a 10 minute story. I was always itching too work on my knitting or read, and it got to be very annoying. Then she took a fancy to a another man who rode with us and soon was sitting next to him every day. I guess they had a relationship for a bit, but broke up so she was once again sitting beside me, now crying about him. Oh the drama.
37 degrees here. Tomorrow when I go to the doc it will be my first day out in a month. Yest afternoon I didn't feel too bad and got some straightening done, but was exhausted after just vacuuming the living room. Looks nice, though.
Hope the stove installation goes well and the crew doesn't leave a big mess.
Have a good week ahead. Will keep Russ in my thoughts.

Holy Moly Reed!!! So sorry to hear of the fraud! I never order online...so I'm ok there, BUT was toying with ordering a medical bracelet online...now wondering if I should. I do all banking in person...I don't really trust the security of a computer. Hope it does not happen to you again!
How's Tom's cat doing? Poor little thing...it's on meds now I suppose! Cold here...30F...and I'm a big chicken...I don't want to go outside! I'm dressed to my neck in warm fuzzies.
So you DID have to get a new stove after all...sigh! Hope you followed my advice and DID pamper yourself with a fancy stove! Here, if your old large appliance is set on the curb, it's guaranteed to be gone by the end of the day. Some men drive around looking for scrap metal.
I was connecting with the head administrator at school (we're both the same vintage!) her husband was dx with type 2 a couple years ago, and refuses to acknowledge it....so I told her about us, and that even if her hubby does not join, SHE can...there's even a group here called Type3 diabetes, or something similar, for those who have a friend or family member with diabetes. I know she would benefit from it.
Parent teacher interviews next week! 20 so far for me so far.
Have a great rest of the day dear Reed...and thanks for the info!
Luv and baskets of hugs....

Hi Reed. Hope your slow cooker meal turns out. I have one o the smaller ones, which I only use for potlucks to bring thing like hot crab dip and cheese dips - very bad for you. Do you also have a microwave? Will the new stove people take the old one away? They certainly should. I recall once when I moved my fridge to get something that had fallen under it and nearly freaked at the grime underneath it It was terrible. I was so tempted to move it back and ignore the dirt, but didn't. Took two days to clean it all out.
Sorry about Tom's cat. Kidney problems are very frequent in older cats, but my friend kept one in pretty good shape with dietary modifications. In every situation, hope abides. Have a good day my friend

Hi Mr Gator. Hoping your pot roast comes out good! I use a slow cooker sometimes too. It makes me hungry though after about 6 hours with all the smells.

Wakeup was 79 BG

Glad you will be sitting close to the front of the church for mass.

we use our slow cooker a lot. Ed's favorite is called Bavarian pot roast, it has apples in it. we had hall balls last night. I had 4 and ed had 7, he couldn't stop eating them. I changed my infusion set this morning, it was pretty easy, although I do have to think about what I'm doing. I think I'm going to like these new sets actually, trouble is I have a lot of the old ones. oh well, I can still use them. very cold here. I think I'm going to make some bread this afternoon, we need a fresh loaf. hugs!
