they are having the "Toy Shop" open for needy families. It's a HUGE job, we've already pre-registered hundreds of families. I hope to be home for the live interview here, but I might be late. I'll catch up with you on Saturday. how's russ coming along?

oh reed, my brother has a HUGE house and he said he can keep a lot of the good stuff until the grandkids get out and have their own homes. plus my sister can take some of it. I know they had a huge snow in Minneapolis, maybe that's why we haven't heard from Kathy. I'll check in on her too. I'm feeling a bit more normal today, my secret therapy is breadmaking. got the 24 hour sourdough going, on it's first 5 hour rise. also need to get some cookies made, depleted my stock at the guild this week, little bags of cookies for presents. the neighbor who helped Ed bring the couch in here yesterday deserves a big bag.

went to the endo yesterday. I am his first patient with the new Accu-chek Combo pump. He had already seen it a couple of months ago. he took a look at all my settings and told me I need to learn how to make the reports. ugg. oh well, diabetes-wise he said don't make any changes and come back i n 6 mos. bg 153, that was before breakfast. had to have a peice of toast, a walnut/onion bread, ummm toasted

Hi Reed sorry I've not been in touch lately but the charger broke on my laptop so had to wait for a new one. Steroids down to 6mg and not too much pain. Had diabetes check up this week and A1c is down to 6 so really pleasee with that too. We are over to England for Christmas this year and leave here next Thursday 20th and back home again on 2nd Jan.
Nick had his steroid injection again last week and hopefully will get some relief. They also exrayed both shoulders and both his knees so waiting for the results. No snow here and no rain either :) Take good care Tricia xx

Hi Mr Gator. The snow is melting a little now making the roads better. The roads are not good though. I have my shoveling done. Good luck at the Dr.

I am glad you had a good TOPS meeting. I am going to a Christmas Party tonight with old friends.

Hope Russ is doing better

Pauly

Hi Reed, I just woke up, tell me it is Friday please! Nope, Thursday, so I guess I can be excited tomorrow. Did you have fun at the TOPs Christmas party? What did you get for a gift? Yesterday we had our party at work, the center buys the meat and then everyone, and there are about a hundred of us, all bring a dish to pass. It is some of the most delicious food ever tasted and always a big treat. We have it in the multipurpose room and a few of the secretaries spend days before decorating it so that it looks like a winter wonderland. Yesterday, lucky for me, I did not have much of an appetite, so I was able to stay away from the dessert table completely. I just took meat and side dishes and ate a half a plate, but my BG was still 300 even being careful. No wonder I was feeling like a snooze the whole afternoon. When I got home from work I wasn't hungry for dinner, so I just skipped it. I am kind of dragging this morning. PTL for coffee!

Hi Gator, That was weird. I was typing you a message and all of a sudden the screen turned blue and said "It is dead Jim." Then the computer logged off and shut down! I wonder if that was a virus. I turned it back on and it reconfigured Windows and now seems to be working fine. I never had that happen before.
How are you coming along with the new stove? Do you like it as much as the old one? I hope Russ is feeling better and healing well. It is rainy here too and getting a bit cold, 36 now, but then it always warms up by the end of the day. I am hoping to wake up one morning to a blanket of white snow and a message in my email that says "work closed today." I am jealous of Pauly and his winter wonderland. Have a nice time at TOPS. Lots.

Hi Reed-Hope you are OK. Glad to hear that Marie has mostly finished the job of cleaning out her mothers' apt. Having done it 2 times, it is not a pleasant activity. Jim had his blood drawn yesterday, we haven't gotten the results yet. My BG has gone up and down today. I heard Minneapolis had 16" of fresh snow. Glad that's not here. Have a good TOPS meeting tomorrow.
Take care of yourself. Cat

Hi Mr Gator, I think you are back from your trip. Thank you for the big Christmas card, It is the biggest one I got so far. That was nice.

We have 15 inches of fresh snow. I had to use the snow rake on the roof to open up a roof vent because of the snow. We got hit with full winter, My muscles are a little sore from shoveling. BG good 89 on wakeup.,

Hope your new stove working good. Pauly

Reed....thanks for posting on my page and still giving me a heads up. I may visit infrequently...but it sure is not intentional. Did not go to the staff dinner and dance after the parent/teacher interviews, as my bg was out of whack! It started with the lunch that was delayed til 1 pm...I was dipping low, so had a snack....then I shot up after lunch...and was going down to low by 4. I knew we wouldn't be eating dinner til 7, and did not want to risk another low. But I always get the sense that no one believes me. Monday came and went and not one person bothered asking why I missed the party...or if I had been ill. Makes you wonder. Sorry to hear about poor Russ. What did the surgeon have to say??
Have you tried out your new stove?? The CWL pot luck dinner is tomorrow evening (no mistakes about the date this time lol), on Wednesday an RCIC class....wonder if they did the homework I gave them last Wednesday?!! This Friday...our School Concert, held at one of the universities. Rehearsal in the afternoon...performance in the evening....a long and tiring night. Some are going to a pub later...not me!! I'm going home! On Saturday and Sunday we're looking after Mason and his brother Riley!!
Can HARDLY WAIT till the Holidays!! Have done my Christmas letters or even cracked open my Christmas card boxes yet!!!
Anyhow....thought I'd send you one of my favourites...Andrea Bocelli!!
Good night dear Reed! Baskets of hugs....linda.

Marie, we were lucky that my Mother wasn't there when we cleaned out her house. Me and my sister-in-law met at her house (we were both from out of state) and we threw out a whole lot, and took a lot to Goodwill. My mother would have freaked out at what we did with her stuff. My sister-in-law had a moving company come and she took what she could fit in her house of my mothers furniture and belongings, and we pack her china and dining room furniture up to be taken to WV to my neices house. My mother was happy to see my neice have her diningroom furniture, china cabinette, and china and all in her house when she visited. The humongous bags of good stuff my mother saved, but none of us wanted, went to the curb. My mother would have screamed and cried if she knew. It was just me and my sister-in-law doing it all. Nancy took what clothes my mother could wear, the rest I took to Goodwill. After that I kept going back there to clean more stuff out and clean the house because my brother put it up for sale for my Mom. Was a lot of trips from NJ to MD and back. You will get through this, its a terrible time I know, but you will survive. Makes a person think about cleaning out stuff all the time so our children have less to deal with.

hi Reed, thanks to you and all my friends here, I came just one iota short of a nervous breakdown, we went through a lot of stuff yesterday, but it is so difficult, "do you want this" should we throw this out, or put it in the thrift shop pile. actually they have a thrift shop right there at Goodwin House. so they can come up to her apt and get the boxes. I don't think we will be able to go through all the clothes this time. my sister is only 2 and a half hours away so she will come twice more at least, and I'll come once. it's a six hour drive for me. I can't even tell you all the trash we've had to wade thru. my mother seems to have never thrown anything out and she had food all over the place too. she's constantly criticisibng my sister's eating habits and complaining about everyone and everything. thank God for Ed, he can maintain a light and sunny disposition for the most part, although he now has my cold, which I've had for a solid month. I'm soo soo tired. it's raining here. bg 130, going to change out before going over there in afew min. love hugs, glad you have Tom too, hope Russ is getting better every day.
