hello Reed, I am going to send Kathy a Christmas card. I haven't even started any yet. I'm not going to send out many this year. anyway, bg 166, changing my infusion set today. Isn't it wonderful we are so close to our fundraising goal already. You won't have to get out your stick and prod. haha. Please join the Type 2 Teen group, you can be the mascot

hopefully we can get some good pr going for this group. we may drive over to my sister's place in the Poconos today. She's taking the family antique sewing cabinet with her so I can pick it up. lovely piece. I'll bet the Gator house is beginning to look quite festive, what are the plans for Christmas dinner?

Hi Gator, I am very concerned about Kathy as well. I have left some messages on her page and nothing back yet. That is so unlike her, so yes, I am very worried too. I know that she has been quite sick with one thing after another and sometimes when many things go wrong at once, running out to the doctor  over and over when you are unwell is very hard. We may need medicine but all the running around can make things worse, I think. When people are sick they need rest and peace.  I know that Kathy has some good friends that are helping her out with food and cleaning and visits, but I wish she was closer to her family and someone could be there with her always to help. It is hard to get better when you are independent. It is also hard to be unable to drive. I am praying hard that she is fine and maybe she is just busy with the holidays or went  visiting  or something. I hope that we hear from her very soon.
I know that when I was sick sometimes I didn't write for a few days because I was just to tuckered out to make the effort, hopefully maybe she is checking in and  just not well enough to reply to our messages yet. It would be super great if you could give her a call, or send a card to her address, just to reach out.
I am sure as a principal you must be  just sick about the shooting at the Elementary School today. I am so terribly sad. I had a doctor's appointment today around noon. I was in the lobby when the news came on TV. Coming home tonight I am just so, so sorry for what has happened.
I had a good week at work and great news, my wonderful friend and co-worker will be back on Monday. She has been on vacation in Vietnam for the past month and I can't wait to see her. I must go shopping this weekend for a welcome back present for her. My really good friend from Persia took her place at work and I love her much but I really would have been better off alone because training takes about a year, so their was not much she could go to help. I will dig in my heels starting Monday.
I don't know why but my big toe is very infected. I didn't do anything to hurt it and wore good shoes, but it is big and swollen and hurts pretty bad. The last thing I want to do is go to the doctor again tomorrow but I think I better, I would hate to get an infection and don't want to risk taking the chance that it will get worse. Hopefully I can get some antibiotics or something. This is the first time anything has gone bad with my toes. I have a friend that lost her toe so it is a bit scary.
How is your Christmas decorating coming along? I read about the beautiful candles that you have in your windows, they sound so lovely and must be precious antiques for you to enjoy. Hoping to put up the tree this weekend with Chris. How is Russ? Please tell him I hope he is getting much better and that he is soon all healed.
I am hopeful we will hear some good news from Kathy this weekend. Have a good night, sleep tight. Hope your knees are being good to you! Ellen

Gator, I'm plumb tired tonight. I think we had 274 families today at the toy shop (well, no kids). each kid in the family got 4 presents, 1 stuffed animal, 2 stocking stuffers, and each fam got a game and cookies. just too much to do, but we did it. most of these kids otherwise would have nothing under the tree. going to take it easy tomorrow, i'm still not well.

Hey Reed!
We haven't heard back from the Mayor of Boston, but we will be sending him a copy of the No-Sugar Added Poetry book.

He, like all of us, needs all the support he can get, now that knows that he has diabetes.

Hey Reed!!
Thanks for visiting the new group "Type 2 Teens" & for your comment! Oh boy...but I'm tired. Went downstairs to spend some time with Len and the tv. Don't ask what was on...I have no Idea! Saw 10 minutes of a movie and fell asleep for 2 hours. I am beyond tired...thought my legs/feet were going to disintegrate today. Tomorrow, Friday, the whole morning will be spent at the University of Waterloo's Humanities Theatre for a dress rehearsal to our Christmas Concert which they call "Holiday Follies" as they try to renounce anything pertaining to Christ, though right there on the programme it boldly reads..."Merry Christmas"! Later tomorrow, at 5:30, I have to return to the Humanities Theatre for the actual performance...a whole school effort on stage, and a whole staff effort everywhere else. Everyone has duties. Thank God mine does not involve managing the "holding pens", where all the kids come to before and in between performances. My jobs are to be part of the greeting committee at the theatre doors, receive the cookies each parents donate to the cookie social which follows the concert...and to deliver them upstairs, to the teacher awaiting me...she will then place the cookies on designated tables. (Note to self...make sure to have a supply of candies/snacks at the ready in the event of a low bg). During the concert, I must be behind the scene on stage to wring the necks of trouble makers! There will be 2 of us with that duty! AFTER the 2 hour concert, comes the raffle draw for the donated prizes, and the cookie social....my job there, is to walk around and make sure that things are tidy! So...that's at least 4 hours of standing, walking, going up and down stairs. No heels for me!! Some staff are going to a pub following the concert!! Me....I'm going home to put my feet up, thank you very much!
Hope poor Russ heals quickly...he must be so frustrated, not to mention concerned! And yourself, Reed, I don't like the fact that your PSA is so elevated. Might be good to take something to bring it down. Our tree (artificial) is going up tomorrow....has built in lights. I can't take real Christmas trees, unfortunately. Have not even begun doing my Christmas newsletters, never mind any of the cards! When THAT'S done....want to do some baking!
It's lovely (and the cat is lucky) that Tom can afford to pay over $2,000. on vet bills. Hope the cats stays healthy.
So...that's pretty much what's going on here. Mason was over after school and stayed for dinner. We want to make that a regular...where he comes on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a visit after school. It warms my heart to see him say a Grace before his meal. He told me today that his school went on a school bus to church and they went up and down all the time!!! (Standing and kneeling).
Good night/good morning dear Reed.
luv and baskets of hugs....linda

oh reed, my brother has a HUGE house and he said he can keep a lot of the good stuff until the grandkids get out and have their own homes. plus my sister can take some of it. I know they had a huge snow in Minneapolis, maybe that's why we haven't heard from Kathy. I'll check in on her too. I'm feeling a bit more normal today, my secret therapy is breadmaking. got the 24 hour sourdough going, on it's first 5 hour rise. also need to get some cookies made, depleted my stock at the guild this week, little bags of cookies for presents. the neighbor who helped Ed bring the couch in here yesterday deserves a big bag.

went to the endo yesterday. I am his first patient with the new Accu-chek Combo pump. He had already seen it a couple of months ago. he took a look at all my settings and told me I need to learn how to make the reports. ugg. oh well, diabetes-wise he said don't make any changes and come back i n 6 mos. bg 153, that was before breakfast. had to have a peice of toast, a walnut/onion bread, ummm toasted

Hi Reed sorry I've not been in touch lately but the charger broke on my laptop so had to wait for a new one. Steroids down to 6mg and not too much pain. Had diabetes check up this week and A1c is down to 6 so really pleasee with that too. We are over to England for Christmas this year and leave here next Thursday 20th and back home again on 2nd Jan.
Nick had his steroid injection again last week and hopefully will get some relief. They also exrayed both shoulders and both his knees so waiting for the results. No snow here and no rain either :) Take good care Tricia xx

Hi Mr Gator. The snow is melting a little now making the roads better. The roads are not good though. I have my shoveling done. Good luck at the Dr.

I am glad you had a good TOPS meeting. I am going to a Christmas Party tonight with old friends.

Hope Russ is doing better

Hi Reed, I just woke up, tell me it is Friday please! Nope, Thursday, so I guess I can be excited tomorrow. Did you have fun at the TOPs Christmas party? What did you get for a gift? Yesterday we had our party at work, the center buys the meat and then everyone, and there are about a hundred of us, all bring a dish to pass. It is some of the most delicious food ever tasted and always a big treat. We have it in the multipurpose room and a few of the secretaries spend days before decorating it so that it looks like a winter wonderland. Yesterday, lucky for me, I did not have much of an appetite, so I was able to stay away from the dessert table completely. I just took meat and side dishes and ate a half a plate, but my BG was still 300 even being careful. No wonder I was feeling like a snooze the whole afternoon. When I got home from work I wasn't hungry for dinner, so I just skipped it. I am kind of dragging this morning. PTL for coffee!
