Hi Reed, Thank you for the lovely Christmas card. It is now on my fireplace mantle, next to a lovely Christmas candle. It will be saved with all the other things that are filed in my "meaningful and precious" drawer! I am doing my Christmas things tomorrow. I have the tree up, but it is still bare. I haven't bought a single gift, except for the people I gave to at work and tomorrow Christmas cards go out. A gift came from my sister's family, a gigantic "designer" ham. We will have that for Christmas dinner.
My toe was a chore. I had so much work that I didn't have time to go to the doctor. I was so busy, and sorry to say, mad, at the conditon of my program that I didn't have a minute to spare, and my head was spinning from all the mess. I did manage to get to the doctor at lunch after smokinbeaver left me a not about brokenpole's toe having gout. That was a wake up call. I had to go to a substitute doctor, not my own. She was nice. She lanced my toe and got all the infection out, and gave me the Zithromax which works for me. I like it because you only have to take it for five days and I can avoid stomach issues I always get with antibiotics. Right now I am soaking in Epsom salts. I noticed the Epsom salt dry, looks like fake snow which gives me the idea to use it around the manger I have. I will put it up somewhere the cat can't get to. I noticed my little toenail is black under the nail and the last to toes are not a good color. I asked for a prescription for diabetic shoes and the doctor said to come back to my regular doctor for that. It never ceases to amaze me that they always get to make more money by making you come for multiple visits, plus we have all day to drive back and forth to their office right? I am really disappointed in the military health care here. I have Tricare Prime, but I think I may go to the VA. It is in the same new hospital that they just built in Ft. Belvoir and pretty close.
I am so glad that Kathy has left a message. I haven't figured out what is happening yet, but I hope she is okay. I hope someone has an address for sending get well wishes.
I am glad that Russ got out for Christmas shopping. How is he doing and how are your knees? It must be nice to be enjoying all your decorations. I bet your house looks lovely.
I haven't written because work is so difficult. I finally had a long talk with the Medical Director and I "closed" the program.I am not opening it until all the medication is ordered, all the data is reconciled and the medication clinic starts to use an inventory system. I am not getting paid to organize the Clinic and fed up with being responsible for medication that is in and they can't locate. It just takes up to much of our time.
Here it has been beautiful, sunny, and pretty warm, but now at 400am it is cold and windy enough we had to move in the deck furniture.
Zen is fine, but now keeping us awake all night meowing and wanting to play. I am off work until Wednesday, and she has already started being good. I think she was lonely while I was at work, sleeping and not paying enough attention to her. Now that I am home for four days, she will get a lot of it.
So the world didn't end yesterday like the Mayan calendar predicted. People made so much money on that. I saw on the news that they made a theme park out of the Myan ruins and tons of people came from all over the world and they made big bucks, and so did all the hotels around the area,
Well, I guess I will say hello to everyone else. Take care. Lots.

we are getting over colds - James had it the worst but he's all better now. I think a nose job is easier than a full reconstruction - I hope Russ makes a speedy recovery. big cold front pushing through it was raining like crazy last night and there may be snow on the way. Good to hear from you Reed! Take care!

good reed, say we had cod last night. we both like fish tacos with it (I only had one taco shell). I have been experiemnting with different recipes that aren't too high carb. the wind was so bad last night it blew the grill cover off. I'm getting ready to make oatmeal cookies. that will make 4 different cookies in my cookie baskets, plus cranberry and banana breads. tell Russ people don't really notice things like you think they do.

Reed!!!!!! And all residents of Reedsville - after 17 days in hosp I transferred to rehab facility as I lost a lot of strength and cannot afford to go home in weakened condition when I live alone. More details to follow. I am feeling much better; still not sure what causes it; kidneys stable; no sign of cancer come- back. Will write more later. Have to see what the drill sarge ants have planned for today. I missed everyone SO much

Timothy (26) is home earlier than anticipated, so that means his place of work will not pay him for the time off while in the hosp. and recuperating. Apparently they cover the time frame if you're in the hospital for a minimum of 2 days!! So, he's on pain meds...and feeling very edgy due to not smoking. I'm urging him to talk to the doc re the patch or something to take him over the hump.
As for myself...I'm done with school now, for Christmas Break. Will be back in the thick of it on January 7th. BUT...that is THEN!! For now...I am HOME SWEET HOME!
First on the list tomorrow after sleeping in till 9 (and after coffee of course)....the Christmas cards!! Then...getting a new element for my oven. No element = no turkey!! Gifts....gotta buy 4 more...and wrap them.
Must finish decorating the tree. Confession tomorrow! The kids are coming here on Christmas eve....everyone bringing something.
Hugs...linda...here's a picture of my happy dance!!

Hi Reed- Haven't been on b/c our router died. It took a couple of days to get a new one. Sounds like you and Russ are ready for Christmas. It seems that Kathy is somewhat better, I did send her a card. My BG have been pretty good. Jim's INR went from the high of 3.7 down to 2.0. It is like us with our BG #'s going up and down. Supposed to turn really cold this weekend, but no snow for us. Regards to Russ and Chico. Take care. Cat

haha we just had a loin of pork yesterday, did it in the slow cooker. also made braised red cabbage, a fav of ed's. I didn't have much, such a stressful day and my bgs were not happy. had a very tense phone call with the social worker where my mom lives. of course they are chomping at the bit to get us out of her apartment. i told her look, I'm 6 hours away, we have Christmas next week, nothing more is getting done until after Jan1. it's going to be a very rough time. she said we absolutely have to be out by Jan 31st. I'm going to see my sister Sat (they're coming up to their place in the poconos, 1 hour from here) so we will make some more plans then. I'm so depressed Reed. Please check in the Care Team Group, I've been posting updates as I get them from Kathy. Please make sure you are FOLLOWING CT so you get an email when someone comments (look just under the comment box to see if you are following). Ed is really got the bronchitis I have had for 6 weeks now. We have zero Christmas decorations. just cards. I'm going to make some cranberry breads today, I want to take a nice basket of goodies to my sister, her 2 sons will be there, and daughter in law and the 2 little girls. bg 154 and that was after 2 middle of the night corrections.

Hi Mr Gator, I am still sick with my cold and will likely be in bed a good part of the day today. Its a head cold and all one can do is suffer through it.

Thursday is the last day at school....praise God!
I have had a headache for the past 3 days!!
Timothy (my baby!) is recuperating. He has undergone the surgical procedure today (Wed.) to repair the puncture in his lung made by the tubing used to re-inflate it following the pneumothorax of October 10th. He should be in the hospital for another day or 2. Pray that he resists the urge of smoking (and that his wife Steph. (who is pregnant by the way) also considers cessation!).
