Merry Christmas to the gang!!!!
I am feeling at peace, thankful, and confident that I will be fully returning to my life as it was.
There were some Carole's here last night and I think they'd all had a little too much eggnog - singing off key , goofing up the words, and giggling. What a bunch of goofballs.
They have a Christmas service this morning which I might go to. Then will do some exercises In my room and read by the fireplace , and reflect on how lucky I am to have a strong body that is still kicking.
Much love to all.

Hi Reed- Merry Christmas to you and those you care about. Sorry you were ill last night. We might get some snow today, that would be nice. It was good to read Kathy's note. It is really cold in Minn. 17 today. Tomorrow will be a quiet day for us. Enjoy your Christmas !!! Cat

Hi Gator,

You and Russ are so good about Christmas and the Holidays. I never sent my cards to anyone, no time, so hopefully yours will make it and be for New Year's Day.

I have some good news, amazing actually. It is snowing here, beautiful. I can't believe my dream of snow came true!

We are up to our necks in Christmas decorations now, trying to get them up before we miss the whole thing!

I don't blame you for being a bit like Scrooge, hopefully that will pass and you will enjoy yourself tomorrow. I am so sorry you were sick to your stomach. Every time I barf I am traumatized, scary. I hope you are feeling better.

Later today I hope to go to the mall just to say that I shopped! Most everyone I know had their presents given to them already. I just need to get my sister sent something but I need to find out if she will be at home or is out of town for the Holiday.

I wish everyone at Tu could have a big party, that would be really fun. Tell Russ that I hope he feels better, who knows, when the whole reconsruction is over he might be more handsome than ever! You never know anymore nowadays, bad things sometimes turn out being good.

I hope Tom's cat is not suffering and that things go well with the poor little thing. Have a nice night, tell Tom, Russ, Chico and Toms' cat that I wish for them to have a wonderful Christmas. I will go to mass tonight and I am going to light a candle for you and eveyone in the Reed household. Have a good day and a lovely Christmas Eve. Lots.

hi Reed, glad you're doing better. We are back from the Poconos. My sister has a nice big townhouse there in a old upscale community (just beautiful actually) with many amenities. It sleeps about 12. they play golf there, and it's not far from some ski areas.

we were going to go to NYC today for Christmas, but yesterday we canceled. even though we were going to use Marriott points to make it a cheap vacation, I just don't feel like it. besides, we may get snow and freezing rain tonight and more on Wednesday. so this morning we bought a turkey and we'll do that. not telling anyone else we canceled the trip. bg was 148 when i woke up and I took a small bolus to get it to 120 for breakfast. oh guess todays the day to change infusion sets. glad you're feeling better. that sounded like food poisoning to me. (((hugs)))

hi Gator, nice to hear from Kathy indeed. By the time my sister got her act together and got up to the Poconos place, it was almost 4, so we had a short visit (saw my grand-nieces ages 3 and 17 mos) and we got the sewing table and left. They had a little snow up there so it was funny seeing the kids' reactions as they live in Ft Lauderdale. Bobby (my nephew) was pulling the 3 yo around the golf course out back on a sled to her delight.

today ed decided to go visit his brother. before he left he started a load of clothes, thank you DEAR, yes, I will fold them all when they're dry. oh well I can do what I want too, which is read the papers. bg was 108 but I'm probably not that any more. sunny here and quite cold, we may be getting snow for Christmas.

Reed and Pals - just a short note from my OWN computer - my sisterand Esther brought me home for a bit to check my mail and phone messages and get some fresh clothes and reading material. Everything looks intact, and my plants were still alive! But walking up the stairs to my door simply pooped me out so I know that the next days at rehab will greatly benefit me. I will be returning home for good this coming Th afternoon after my therapies are complete for that day
Yest I found I could only balance on one foot for 5 seconds. I told the lady I don't think I've ever been able to do it for more, but she gave me a "bad score" anyway.
They have not been adhering to the insulin dose instx sent over by my doctor, and for two nights in a row I have been over 500 . So I'm also taking a big supply of my own insulin with me - shall I hide it under the mattress?
Food is not goodLast night for supper we got 1/2 pita bread stuffed with dry lettuce and a dab of canned fruit cocktail. But then I found the secret snack place where they keep peanut butter, graham crackers and yogurt. So Once my bg is back in control there will be some covert raiding going on.
I could so clearly feel the love and concern from everyone here. It was just frustrating not to be able too get back. I'm fading. Catch you later.

Hi Reed, Thank you for the lovely Christmas card. It is now on my fireplace mantle, next to a lovely Christmas candle. It will be saved with all the other things that are filed in my "meaningful and precious" drawer! I am doing my Christmas things tomorrow. I have the tree up, but it is still bare. I haven't bought a single gift, except for the people I gave to at work and tomorrow Christmas cards go out. A gift came from my sister's family, a gigantic "designer" ham. We will have that for Christmas dinner.
My toe was a chore. I had so much work that I didn't have time to go to the doctor. I was so busy, and sorry to say, mad, at the conditon of my program that I didn't have a minute to spare, and my head was spinning from all the mess. I did manage to get to the doctor at lunch after smokinbeaver left me a not about brokenpole's toe having gout. That was a wake up call. I had to go to a substitute doctor, not my own. She was nice. She lanced my toe and got all the infection out, and gave me the Zithromax which works for me. I like it because you only have to take it for five days and I can avoid stomach issues I always get with antibiotics. Right now I am soaking in Epsom salts. I noticed the Epsom salt dry, looks like fake snow which gives me the idea to use it around the manger I have. I will put it up somewhere the cat can't get to. I noticed my little toenail is black under the nail and the last to toes are not a good color. I asked for a prescription for diabetic shoes and the doctor said to come back to my regular doctor for that. It never ceases to amaze me that they always get to make more money by making you come for multiple visits, plus we have all day to drive back and forth to their office right? I am really disappointed in the military health care here. I have Tricare Prime, but I think I may go to the VA. It is in the same new hospital that they just built in Ft. Belvoir and pretty close.
I am so glad that Kathy has left a message. I haven't figured out what is happening yet, but I hope she is okay. I hope someone has an address for sending get well wishes.
I am glad that Russ got out for Christmas shopping. How is he doing and how are your knees? It must be nice to be enjoying all your decorations. I bet your house looks lovely.
I haven't written because work is so difficult. I finally had a long talk with the Medical Director and I "closed" the program.I am not opening it until all the medication is ordered, all the data is reconciled and the medication clinic starts to use an inventory system. I am not getting paid to organize the Clinic and fed up with being responsible for medication that is in and they can't locate. It just takes up to much of our time.
Here it has been beautiful, sunny, and pretty warm, but now at 400am it is cold and windy enough we had to move in the deck furniture.
Zen is fine, but now keeping us awake all night meowing and wanting to play. I am off work until Wednesday, and she has already started being good. I think she was lonely while I was at work, sleeping and not paying enough attention to her. Now that I am home for four days, she will get a lot of it.
So the world didn't end yesterday like the Mayan calendar predicted. People made so much money on that. I saw on the news that they made a theme park out of the Myan ruins and tons of people came from all over the world and they made big bucks, and so did all the hotels around the area,
Well, I guess I will say hello to everyone else. Take care. Lots.

we are getting over colds - James had it the worst but he's all better now. I think a nose job is easier than a full reconstruction - I hope Russ makes a speedy recovery. big cold front pushing through it was raining like crazy last night and there may be snow on the way. Good to hear from you Reed! Take care!

good reed, say we had cod last night. we both like fish tacos with it (I only had one taco shell). I have been experiemnting with different recipes that aren't too high carb. the wind was so bad last night it blew the grill cover off. I'm getting ready to make oatmeal cookies. that will make 4 different cookies in my cookie baskets, plus cranberry and banana breads. tell Russ people don't really notice things like you think they do.
