Reed, I am going to echo you in saying that I feel much better than I deserve to!!! Slept solid like a baby. BG still whacky from the prednisone, but I only have to take it for two more days.
Went to Target and got a toasty pair of bedroom slippers, half off! People were going nuts over the wrapping paper, cards, and decorations, also on sale.
It got up to 20 here but seemed really chilly.
The Vikings were playing our big rival, the Green Bay Packers. There were lots of people in town from Wisconsin, wearing hats shaped like a wedge of cheese, hence the name "cheese heads". I have not looked to see who won yet.
I a going to do some straightening, work on my Christmas card list, and then relax on the couch.
Love the pic of you squished in the pew. I remember as a child our church being very drafty in the winter - probably felt good to sit close to someone.

Hi Mr Gator, Hope Russ is doing better. Still cold up here. Went to mass last night, not a lot of people there. Seems once the holidays end the church kinda empties out. I suppose you are at mass as I write this.

Hi Reed, we got about 5 inches yesterday, very light, so I doubt ed will get out the snowblower. i was 169 at 6AM so I took a little bolus and surprise, 113 before breakfast. sure hope they delivered the NewYork Times to the market today, I hate to miss my Sunday paper.

hi Reed, it's been snowing a lot today. we have at least 3 additional inches, so pretty with all our trees. predicting 3 to 6. I'm making homestyle bread, ed's fav. I had a nice time at the luncheon yesterday, it took us a long time to drive there and back, and there was TOO MUCH FOOD. sorry, but I find when there's too much, it's not as appetizing. anyway, with 3 diabetics there we were sorely tested. nice to get out and solcialize. went to the librbary today. there's a new book about prayer from a favorite author of mine, Anne Lamott and I saw online they have it. so I went by and asked to be on the list waiting for it. bgs all over the place. this morning i went from 81 at 4AM to 93 at 6AM to 148 at 7 AM, all before coffee or anything.

HI Reed- As I write this note, I am watching the snow fall on the ground and on the streets. It is very beautiful b/c I can watch it from indoors. We will stay in today and tonight and watch the snow, we really didn't have any last year and I missed it. It will be getting much colder this week, down into the 20's during the day and teens at night. Thanks for your note, Jim's inr went up to 2.5 he was very happy about that. Hopefully, it stays there. My BG have been pretty good, some up's and down's like everyone else. Hope you have a Happy New Year, I am anxious for 2013 to start. Take Care. Cat

Oh, and yes, the hospital did forward all the cards to home.

ReedsterSpeedster - slept in a bit but now I'm ready to rock 'n' roll! Just got a call from some pharmacy across town that I've never used that has a bunch of meds that I was supposed to be sent home from the hospital with. Not surprising, considering how goofed up they were at that place. One nurse was adjusting my iv drip and said, "this would go a lot better if I'd remembered to put my contacts in".

I'm going to the JC Penney salon to get my hair cut and then back home to see if I have energy left for straightening.

Chilly. Streets coated with frozen slush. Yest a 100 year apartment building on the next block burned to the ground. It took fireman 5 hours to put it out. It was started by unattended candles and went up fast because there was lots of old woodwork. No one hurt, but all tenants lost everything. Since so many of them were quite young, nobody felt the need for renter's insurance. The bagel shop next door let them all in to keep warm and have a free meal. Red Cross was immediately on the scene taking
charge. They are efficient and do a good job. It was frightening for me to step outside and see huge flames shooting to the sky.

I feel so very lucky. And thankful.

Have a good weekend.

Hi Reed- I hope you had a good time on your trip. We are expecting 2-4" of snow tomorrow. More people envy you when our temp doesn't get above 39 and the snow starts to fall. Did Chico miss you while you were away ? I want to wish you and Russ a very Happy New Year. What are you youngsters doing on new years eve ? We are just going over friend's house. Take care. Look forward to 2013 !! Cat

Just got in my door - decided to stay for supper at rehab. I am wiped out and now have to sort through all my meds plus the new ones. And, guess who's back on that beast, coumadin? Me. Sigh.
But I am intact. Snowing here and very thick coat of ice underneath.
Can't wait to speak with al my friends individually.

Hi Reed,

I heard you were visiting Tom? I hope you had a good time. I am such a sissy. It turned 37 degrees tonight and really windy. I am freezing. My hands got so cold that I stopped on the way home and bought some gloves. I got some leggings too, to wear under my clothes, and of course a bunch of cat stuff that I couldn't resist. I bet Chico missed you. How is he doing?

How did your haircut come out after waiting for it all that time? I am not going for a while. I will let my hair grow to save money after all the Christmas expenses.

Work is going so well. It was a mess at first, but now it is getting organized again. I told them I would quit if they didn't do what I told them, so now everyone is stepping in line. Tomorrow is Friday already. I can't believe it! I love these short weeks.

Do you have any plans for the New Year or any resolutions? I guess mine will be exercise. When we did the Christmas shopping we forgot where we parked the car. We walked so far with all the packages that I thought I was going to have to get a hip replacement the next morning! I guess that is a small hint that I have gotten out of shape.

I bet that Russ is looking forward to going to the nose appointment soon. I hope he is doing okay. I have been thinking about you all. How is Tom's cat doing? I hope that it feels better. Lots.

hi Reed, I really messed up yesterday. I was so focused on the turkey that I forgot to take my bolus before dinner. I had it all calculated out with plenty of carbs for the stuffing and little bit of cranberry sauce, so you know when I started feeling knarly at bedtime I almost fell over when I saw my bg was 459. took a huge correction and another at 3 AM when I was down to 169. finally got in range for breakfast, and proceeded to cut myself on the finger pretty bad. ed saw me do it and he was telling me not to cut that way. now I can't find my anniversary card for him. today is our 26th anniversary (26 on the 26th). last year on our 25th it was a Monday and none of the restaurants were open, so we ate at a Mexican place we both like. this year it looks like a ice storm with possibly 6 or 8 inches of snow, so I better see what's in the freezer.

hope you have some fun on your little trip. how far is it to Gainesville.
