Hey there Reed!!!!! Can you here me from where you are? TGIF TGIF TGIF TGIF TGIF TGIF TGIF TGIF TGIF TGIF!!!!!!!! I am so ELATED to have "achieved" Friday!! How are you feeling?
All is well here...not nearly as tired as I was Monday and Tuesday! I was totally wiped then! Starting on the next round of report cards already!
I have to turn them in on Feb. 11th for proofreading. Think Len and I will go out for dinner tonight, just for a break. Warm today (40)....even warmer tomorrow....up to a balmy 55! We have patches of snow here and there. Not to worry though....we will pay our dues in February for certain! To answer your question, Canada doesn't have food stamps, what is done rather is a cheque is given out to those on Social Assistance (Welfare). Likely less humbling (?) There are food banks and such here for the needy. The Catholic Church has a St Vincent de Paul Society, where we donate canned and dry goods, and boxes of food are delivered to certain homes at Christmas or when needed....along with a cheque for perishable foods.
Russ must be so happy now, with his "new nose"!
luv and baskets of hugs....linda
HI Reed- Glad to hear that your cold is better. I didn't think getting colds in FL was permitted. LOL We are good here. Jim is still waiting to get his stockings from the hosp. pharmacy. He will get his INR results from the Lab today. He just misses eating green veggies. He was a rabbit in his first life. My BG aren't too bad. BG this AM was 119. Any plans for the weekend? Glad that Russ' nose is repaired. Hopefully, his surgery days are over. It is supposed to go up to the 60's on Sunday. I am sure it won't last. Regards to Chico !!!! Cat
Hi there Gator, How are you feeling? Is your cold better yet? Good for Russ that the nose came out well. I think it is cute he has to shave his nose for a while, at our age we all have to start shaving in weird places! I have been busy with work. Things are going so well there. I guess being sick and in pain all that time made my a bit more fiesty because I don't put up with nonsense like I used to and things are going much better with a few new rules and boundaries. My job is really getting fun. Our weather is nice. I started walking again. You would be so proud of me because I have lost so much weight. I will put a new picture on my page as soon as I figure out how to use the new camera I got for Christmas. I still haven't gotten to it yet, maybe this weekend. I am glad you gained a pound. You are welcome for the card, my pleasure sir. I am thinking of starting to paint again. If I can get half way decent maybe I will paint a little picture for you. That sounds fun. See you later alligator. Lots
reed, russ might have some kind of allergy. when was the last time you bought new pillows? I have one of those temperpedic ones. i like it even better than down pillows.
I always do the corned beef in the slow cooker. also pot roast w/ apples, Bavarian style, and a curried chicken and a sheer chicken breast thing. I usually do pork shoulder slow roasted in the oven or stove top, Mexican style, like carnitas. mmm so good. let me know if you want recipes, when I get back, I'll mail them to you.
DO NOT DWELL IN THE PAST,DO NOT DREAM OF THE FUTURE,CONCENTRATE THE MIND ON THE PRESENT MOMENT. Gator, this saying you gave us-Luv it-going to use it all day today-perfect timing. Thanks friend :)
Hi Mr Gator. My shoulder is better I iced it yesterday. I am glad Russ is getting a little better and that Tom got such good news. That must make you very happy, Working on my Bible Study lesson today for next week, it takes about 3 hours to go through each lesson with the readings. Warmer today,
Thanks for the nice detailed note. BG was 79 on wakeup. Pauly
Hi Mr Gator, I think I have frozen shoulder or bursitis in my shoulder. Tendons hurt. I am icing it and resting it for now. Said a prayer to the Blessed Mother too for some help.
Yesterday it hurt alot. I am glad you are both on the mend now. Bright sunny cheerful day today here. Have a good tops meeting.
hi reed, glad ypou both had good night's sleep. excellent. oh I meant to say congrats to Tom, that is BIG news. well I'm having a typical morning. was steady around 150 from 3 to 7 (tested 3 times) and then at 730, I started feeling a little queasy (which always means a high) and in 30 min I went from 150 to 180. arggggg. we are going down to mom's this weekend. I'm really not sure what exactly is left, that's why I need to go. I am also determined to find those tax receipts, I just know no one threw them out, just looking at mom's checking account online yesterday, I see she made a nice donation to DHF, so I'm proud of her for that. somehow she managed to get my nephew to take her over to see her brother yestday. Taylor is 14 years younger, unfortunately he is dying, on hospice care at home. he had a stroke 15 years ago. smoking......
Reed I' madder than a hornet. The coagulation clinic phones and asks why I haven't been going for my blood draws - "it's kind of hard to evaluate your proper dose if you don't cooperate with us". I told her I had blood drawn on Friday and again yesterday, and yes I remember it clearly because they had to poke my hand and it took a long time to find a good vessel. Vessels further up the arm are used up and full of scar tissue. It is creepy because you can feel them under the skin. So, are they losing the sample or mislabeling it or what? Mad mad mad. Hope you are kay.
Hi Reed. I went to the movie "Lincoln" and it was pretty good. Over two hours. Still running a low grade fever, but at least it's down. Made myself a super of oatmeal with a big squishy ripe banana cut into it and it was ever so tasty. Some oatmeal, specially the ones where you can get the individual serving packets, have a ton of salt in it but the big old barrel container does not. About 30 degrees here so we had some melting. I still have no idea what day it is. Target was loaded with Vanentines and candy. Give me a break.
Hi Reed, Are you feeling any better today? How is Russ doing? I hope you two are doing okay. Yesterday was a bust for me. I was tired Saturday so Sunday was planning to do something interesting. I woke up with a stomach ache, then bad BGs, then sore muscles. Maybe I caught some kind of bug. I gave up, took a pain pill and it knocked me out all day. This morning I woke up feeling fine. I went to work and caught everything up on the computer. My eyes are crossed. I did numbers all day with no breaks, just to get it done, and I did, so yay. When we got home we got out of the car and decided to take a walk right away before we even went inside. I am starting my New Year's resolution to exercise every day a week late. Oh well, better late than never and at least it is done for today. I hope you guys are doing okay. I am going to relax tonight. No snow yet for us. I am still hoping. Lots.
