Hey Reed!!
Been busy here...Report Card time again. But managing to squeeze in birthday greetings, and welcomes!! And of course popping in to the chat....for mental health! You can only stay submerged in report card "stuff" for just so long without coming up for air!! I've done all my English segment (28 students)...now to move on to French (64 students).
I was off not feeling well on Thursday....also that day, learned that my God Mother/aunt passed away on Monday...the last relative of that generation. She was 87...and was fine till she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage.
So sorry to hear that Russ is doing poorly. Hope things pick up for him. How's your Chico? I miss not having a pet! Give him tummy rubs for me!
The no show/no call....I remember that too well from my days of co-coordinating and conducting my support group, as well as the years doing Children's Liturgy classes! Comes with the territory unfortunately!
Can you believe that I've defrosted and had the last of the turkey left overs for dinner tonight? Now I don't want to see turkey for a long time! Am watching a good movie downstairs with Len. We saw half tonight ...the other half tomorrow night! It's called "The Black Book"...a Dutch film with Eng. subtitles. Based on the 2nd WW...Holland, the Resistance. An excellent movie.
Well...very late here...might greet a couple new members, then hit the sack!!
Take care and Good Night!!!
Baskets of hugs....linda

Hey Reed. Within the next few days it will be FORTY degrees colder. What gives? I haven't a clue. By midweek the high will not get to zero. Sheesh.
My kidney doc phoned today and said labs were good but then made a bunch of changes in my med doses. Very very hard to keep track of. Still haven't found my glasses, although this is the year that my insurance allows a new pair. I made the most delicious Moroccan yogurt chicken for supper - cooked at low temp so it fell off the bone.
I hope you are feeling well and have a good weekend. Madame Lots is very inspiring, no?

Hi Gator, How are you? Is Russ okay? He has had that cough a really long time. I hope he is getting better. How are you? I heard your speaker didn't show at TOPs. I could never entertain a whole crowd off the cuff like that for that long. You are talented.
I am trying to figure out what is going on with the weather. I don't think the weather people know what is going on with all the weather changes. I wish I could get paid for being wrong all the time. Last night we were supposed to have six inches of snow, I was so excited. Woke up this morning and it was sunny and nothing on the ground, not even one flake.
Tomorrow I am signed up for a meditation class at the library close to where I work. Somebody that has meditated for 30 years and is a expert at it is going to teach it. I get to go free because of work. I asked everyone I knew to go with me, but they were all busy. I bet some nice people will be there though. It starts at one.
You would be proud of me. I have walked every day this week. Yesterday I started going twice as far as before. I will keep increasing my distance. I have been doing yoga too. It is a three day weekend. I am glad Tom is there to keep you company and help you out. How is Chico? Zen is great. She had some chicken with us for dinner. She is soooo sweet. Lots.

hi Reed, I think you need to get Russ in to the doctor. ask him if he'd rather go to the hospital. he absolutely needs a walker. get him a nice one, my mom got hers through Medicare. glad doris got featured, it's been a while for her. my stuffed pork loin was fabulous. sunny and cold here, so I'm cleaning the oven, that warms up the kitchen good.

hope you can make the chat this afternoon, or just watch it please. Two old timers who got diabetes as children in the 1940s (yes, 1940s, not a mistake!!) are going to be talking to us. Richard and Tom, Richard was one of my first friends here.

bg not good and neither was my sleep.

Hi Reed! Jon's cold is better and he went to the hospital this morning for the surgery on his fistula. I pray they find whats not working with it and get it fixed! I can't be there with him because I have to go to a meeting again with a school social worker at 9am doing Alex's past history. The last meeting took 1 1/2 hers. Its very important to get this done quickly, as it is part of the evaulation and IEP there are doing for Alex at school. He is not doing very well in school at all. Its taking hrs for him to get his homework done with us helping, and its frustrating for all of us and him both. He has even gotten to the point of crying now. I do believe he is being made fun of at school and on the bus, but children can be subtle and get away with it.I did here that the school finally got the records they needed from his school in Mass. I hope the school gets started on the actual testing and evaluation for Alex soon. He is learning, but it seems that the pace is too fast for him. Thanks for asking about us. I have not been able to get Alex an appt with a pediatrician and think its because he has no insurance. Medicaid still hadn't processed the paper work this month yet, and it was applied for in Nov. A lot of stress is piling up on me.

Hi Reed- Glad you are getting some warm weather. Here it is chilly and getting colder next week. I have been OK, my BG are mostly in my normal range. But this AM it was 38. I was walking around getting my breakfast ready. Felt fine- go figure. Jim has been wearing the compression stockings & he thinks they are helping his leg. Gotta go make him some lunch. Take care. hi Reed, we got up at 7 and went to get our blood draws. of course they all know us there. bg 104, a very SAEGATOR-like number, lol! Ed has been busy looking at jobs on the computer and also following investments. He also talks to his brother and some friends everyday. His brother is a senior officer in a huge British bank. today, we are going to try a complcated recipe for a stuffed pork loin. it's rolled up, in the stuffing. the stuffing has dried figs in it. yesterday we were looking all over Newton for figs , haha. then I sent a tweet to the Fig Growers Association and they got right back to me telling me where I could find them. Another reason I love Twitter. that's funny about the new TOPS members.

Reed, I am losing it. My glasses disappeared. I could swear I put them in the same place every night and this morning they were gone - looked everywhere, then again. I ended up wearing this dorky pair that were somewhat blurry. Maybe I have a poltergeist
This afternoon the temp on the computer said 25, so I decided to take a couple trips out to the dumpster. I could hardly get the door open it was blowing so hard,, and then there were tiny ice pellets stinging on my face.like sharp little arrows. Tomorrow I do have to go for an INR but at least I"ll know what to wear.
I am also going to a shoe store that emphasizes comfort over style. I remember last year asking the clerk if a particular style gripped the ice very well and he said "I have an attachéd garage so don't walk on the sidewalk too often". Must be nice. LOL
Hope you re wearing a bright tropical shirt to go with the warm weather.

Thanks Seagator. I have been reading your comment page and so think that you and someone in your family is sick. When Dick or I have a cough, we tell people that "we" have a cough, because the other, sleepwise, might as well.

hi Reed, we got about 4 inches of snow last night, so Quilts of Valor was cancelled today. also am putting off the blood draw until tomorrow. so got back to the welcomes here....

I am supposed to be in charge of the raffle quilt, but I got the help of a friend who designed it. we want it to be an original piece. since 2012's was very traditional, we wanted this one to be bold and contemporary. we went to a nice quilt shop a couple hous away from here yesterday, and bought almost $300 in fabric. (since I haven't bought any fabric since you-know-when, I was shocked at how prices have risen). the people in the shop were amazed at our selections. it was great to be with my friends who are experienced quilters, and quite close friends too. we had a nice time driving to and fro and covered a lot of topics. now I need some help making up kits so lots of guild members can have a part in making the quilt. The pattern is a variation of New York Beauty, a traditional pattern. can't wait to get started.....

myu numbers have been so-so. I need to change my infusion set. also a bit stressful here lately.

Hello Reed, It was an OK day. Work was awful again. We've had some patients die due to the flu. The weather has turned nasty and we are to get snow & freezing rain thru the night. It has started already. I hate driving in this weather. Joe will take me to work if the roads are bad. Unfortunately no matter how bad the weather gets we are expected to be there. Well the news for Kevin & Jen is good. They put their house on the market on last Saturday and sold it today. I'm happy for them. Less things to worry about. Too bad you couldn't take advantage of the quiet night and sleep a bit longer. Wishing for some sunshine here. Take care. <3 <3 Joanne
