And very same congratulations right back at you!

Sorry I haven't been very chatty recently . . . life has been oh, let's say -- excessively busy. A1c crept up a bit during the holidays, but now that I'm back on a stable routine once again I expect it will settle back down.

I had been using Novolog as my rapid-acting insulin, but I'm in the process of switching over to Apidra instead. For me, it seems to act faster and peak sooner. The journey continues . . . :)

Hi Gator, Congratulations on being FEATURED! What a day. I got my liver and stomach ultrasound done. It was an ordeal. I could not eat or drink for 8 hours, couldn't take insulin, my synthroid, my pain medication or my stomach medication for nausea. I was a sorry looking white sheet by the end of the test. I laid in the car with the seat back all the way there. My heart was pounding because my blood pressure was so high, I was sick to my stomach, and my muscles went into giant spasms with out the Tramadol. I had a throbbing headache. My BG didn't go over 300. Boy I was thirsty though. The test was easy and I had to lift up my arms a lot, do a lot of deep breathing and hold my breath a lot. The technician rubbed my stomach and around my ribs a lot as well, and put hot towels on me, so by the time it was finished I felt better. I was so whoozy I used a wheel chair to get into the hospital.
As soon as it was done we rolled to the waiting area near the main door. I drank 32 ounces of water right away and took all my medication and my shot and started feeling better fast. Then I saw the gift shop and went in there in the wheelchair and for some reason they had such awesome stuff. I got a pretty bracelet, silver with a pretty purple stone in it, a cross necklace, a present for my son, and a card and a present for my sister's birthday. Oh yes and a pretty magnet about faith. I also got a beautiful scarf for cheap. There was an older lady volunteering there at the cash register and it was so funny. She could not work the cash register, so Chris had to go back there and help her with ringing everything up. It was one of the new touch screen ones. Thank goodness I bought a lot of items because by the time we were done she was so happy because she memorized how to do it. I think she was sweet on Chris because she said he was the best customer she ever had. He is good to people like that so yes, he is very sweet. I hadn't eaten and it was after two and so we went to a restaurant and I had a healthy veggie skillet with egg whites, broccoli, huge tasty mushrooms, cooked onions and baby potatoes. It was so yummy. Now we are home and I feel so great. I was worried that all that would make me sick the rest of the day, but I am not sick at all, and Iam ready to go back to work tomorrow. How is your day going today? I hope thing are going well for you. It is super windy and pretty cold here, but the snow has disappeared. Lots.

Hi Mr Gator, I like my refrigerator a lot. My old one seemed to run 24 hours a day. This one is hardly on at all. It is smaller but living alone I dont need alot of room.

I am going to Bible Study tonight at the parish.

I watched some of the game but got sleepy and went to bed.

hi Reed, we watched most of the game yesterday, then I just couldn't stay up any more. having a bad bg morning, it keeps trying to go up up up. think I'll change my set before we go to the dentist this morning. he better not find anything. I'm a faithful flosser lol. I've been to Punta Gorda. we chartered a boat down that way and went around it on our boat. you'll have fun.

Hey Reed. I'm not at the SuperBowl party and glad I didn't go. I'm watching a show on PBS about these giant bats.
Came very close to falling today - must have done the "arm flailing" dance for at least 30 seconds.
Have to go for INR and kidney labs on Tuesday, but otherwise nothing planned for the week.

Hi Reed, Thanks for the prayers you said for us. We are all very thankful for those. I finally got my wish! It is snowing today. When I woke up this morning it was coming down nicely, and now hours later, it is coming down even faster. It is so pretty! It is about 30 degrees and calm. It is very much fun to sit by the window with Zen and my cup of hot coffee and watch the snow fall.

I had some trouble on Friday with my blood pressure medication and ended up in the hospital. I passed out, fell, and my blood pressure was very high. I stopped that medication and bought a blood pressure cuff to check it every few hours. My blood pressure came down to normal now that I am off that medication. Yesterday I slept all day, I guess my body needed to adjust to the change. I had a good night's sleep and I am feeling much better now today. I am going to take a nice, hot shower and then I am planning on going for a  relaxing walk in the fresh new snow to losen up my stiff muscles and get my blood moving. I get pretty sore if I don't move around.

I have a job to do today. I bought a new coat last month and it is cold enough now to wear it. The buttons are hanging off. I guess they don't take time to sew them on correctly when they mass produce coats , just good enough to get them on and to sell the coat. I am going to remove all the buttons, and sew them on right. It will take a while because the coat is double breasted and there are a lot of buttons. Luckily they are big, and they have big holes in them, so that will make it easier. I can sit by the window with Zen and watch the snow come down while I do it.

It sounds like it is chilly for you too. I am glad your cold is going away,  but sorry to hear you still have that cough. I hope it goes away soon, and I hope Russ is doing well? I hope he is not coughing too.

It is nice that your priest is learning to speak English with less of an accent. Given time he will probably be able to give a very understandable sermon. I have a lot of respect for people that can learn a new language. It takes  a lot of time, commitment,  and effort. I have been trying to learn Spanish because so many client's of mine speak it. It hasn't been easy, even though I took it in college and everything, and got an A in those three classes. It is my accent. I can't roll my r's. Someone told me to put some water in my mouth and gargle to learn how to do that sound right. I think I will give that a try. Have a nice day Reed. Tell Tom and Russ that I said hi and that I hope they have a nice day as well. Lots

Hi Reed. 7 degrees here, no wind, so it's not too bad. There is a big cross country ski festival at the lake a block away. Neighborhood all clogged up with cars, and people.
I am invited to a superbowl party tomorrow night at my neighbor's across the street, but there will be way too many food temptations - chicken wings, various dips, sweets. I haven't decided whether to go or not. I suppose I could bring some raw veggies or such.
I even find that chicken is expensive, although you can save money by buying a whole one and cutting it up yourself. My favorite fish is tilapia, which is't exactly cheap either. And I think of all those years growing up when my dad would come home with a stringer full of walleyes and we'd have filets for supper. Delicious

hi Reed, quite cold here, we went for a walk anyway all bundled up. Ed is doubling down now on his job hunt. Just applied for a director of sales in Syracuse NY (3 hours from here).

the swordfish has not only been overfished, but it's rather high in mercury, so it is maybe better not to eat so much (I love it too). cod is better.

gee, thanks a bunch for the prayers. not only for our situation, but dear Uncle Taylor.

Oh my goodness, Reed, it's -11 here now. Horrible.
I tried to fix my glasses last night and it was a miserable failure. I knew I'd be frustrated so was all hopped up at bedtime and it took awhile to calm down. Phooey.
Have yourself a good weekend!

Hi Mr Gator, more cold this morning, -15 below 0 here but next week it will be better and this should be the coldest day of the year.

Have to clean my refrigerator out for tomorrows delivery. My oven went out too and I will be buying a new stove next week. Its time to replace both of them.

I budget money just for replacement of this stuff each month so when the moment comes it is not a big deal, well sorta as you like to keep the money but then you cant have everything

Trouble with your new mouse Reed...thought I send you a pic of this grass roots version!!
Man...the weather has been so unpredictable here....from what I see it's up and down at your end too! Yesterday, we had rain, wind, fog and around 55F...snow pretty much gone. Today...a whole different story...20F...cold and blowing dry snow. I keep hoping for a snow day!! Costs of insurance is insane! I discovered too that come retirement...there is no dental coverage!! So will have to look for private coverage...another premium to pay!
What the heck is THAT all about?!! Geez...if there was ever a time when you DO need coverage, it's THEN, when your income is lesser. Sigh!!
My report cards are done and were handed in over a week before due date.
I feel....FREE!!
I just hope than there wont be any changes to be made after they get proofread. Soon enough will be parent teacher interviews...and at end of February, prepping for the French club at school. Yesterday I was on the computer after I came back from co-teaching a RCIC class at church (Right of Christian Initiation for Children)...almost to midnight, here at to for a bit...then looking for teaching material related to Groundhog Day....in French! Found some!! Gotta love the internet!! Gotta love my printer! I print one copy....and use it as my master to print the rest at school. There's a lice infestation at school....I'm keeping my distance from any kid scratching their heads. I went to pick Mason up early from school...not feeling well...poor little peanut, burning up with fever and feeling SO miserable! So he's not going to school tomorrow, that's for sure! We're getting Stephen for the weekend. He's 2 1/2 now!! He's a little sweetie! Looking forward to it. Speaking of hair appointment...I'm due! A trim and some highlights. The lady down the street from us does a superb job, out of her house, at a fraction of going prices. Well...tomorrow Friday!! I've been able to get a lot done at school, as all the grades 3, 4 and 5 are away for their 3 day Winter camp. Got lessons planned ahead, copies made, sorted out material and cleaned up supplies in my classroom!! In all my 11 years at the school, I have NEVER EVER found myself short of things to do!! So, have a great evening Reed...and an even better day tomorrow!
luv and baskets of hugs....linda

One puny degree here with -30 windchill. I did go to the store and was severely bundled up so it wasn't too bad except my glasses kept fogging up so I couldn't see where the ice was. They have a coffee area so I lingered there quite awhile before heading home. So thankful to have warm clothes and shelter.
Seems like you guys are always getting haircuts. I guess that's to continue your reputation of looking dapper. Now I'm looking below and see that Pauly got his hair cut yesterday. Must be something in the air.
I'm gonna go and turn my space heater on high and see who's on Dr. Phil.

hello Reed, we got plenty of rain last night here, it's in the 40s, so it washed away most of the snow. last night my aunt called and said my uncle passed away, he was under hospice care, and in bad shape, blind, bedridden, so it is a blessing. I called my mother this morning to tell her. of course, we are going to the funeral. their church is in Washington DC, right behind the Library of Congress. please say an extra prayer for us, really Reed, we need it.

Hi Mr Gator, Bitter Cold this morning with wind chill warnings of 35 below 0 so I am staying indoors.

I got a hair cut yesterday and bought a new refrigerator. Mine is making noises and it is 25 years old, to old to repair.

Glad you had a nice tops meeting. Sorry about the woman who was robbed. Stay safe. Kathy says alot of tornados.
