Hey there, just checking in to see how you are doing. I am glad that you talked to your friend about things. He is probably right. You would feel better if you could think of something new and interesting to do. It is easy to fall into the habit of not doing much when you are feeling sad and upset. I have the same problem sometimes. What kinds of things are interesting to you? Write me and let me know how you are doing, okay? Lots

Hi Liam, I haven't stopped by since welcoming you the other week, so I thought I'd stop by your page to see how you are doing. Drop me a line when you get a chance and let me know how things are going for you.

Hi liam, what have you been doing for the last couple days? I just wanted to check in and see what's up with you and if you are okay. I take insulin too and I don't think that it is a lot of fun but I found out that if I don't take it right I feel like total crap. I was wondering what kind of insulin that you take and how many times you check things out with your glucometer a day. If you have time let me know. When my blood sugar gets high I usually feel depressed and sometimes angry about everything. Maybe we could get you reading some stuff on this web site and figure out if we could make you feel happier by getting you more into taking care of your diabetes. Tell me what you think. Talk to you soon, I hope. Lots.

Liam. You need to take your insulin breakfast lunch dinner and Lantus at night. Is it because you cannot afford it? There must be agencies there that will help you. I am 84 and I still want to live. I was ready to get married and the girl dumped me...you can go on there is a lot to live for...please do not get depressed and get those crazy ideas out of your head. LOVE YOURSELF. YOU are worth it. Talk to me anytime. Reed

Hi Liam,
Hope you were able to contact someone. I just checked and there is a singles group on here. They will probably be able to relate to what you are going through. Stay strong! Joanne

Hey Liam, thanks for getting back to me. It makes me feel good to know that you care about your mum and that is a great reason to not to consider it, seriously, that just tells me that you are a great person because you are thinking about her when everything seems to be going wrong. I don't think that there is anyone that hasn't had thoughts about it when things get to be totally hard. You are feeling really bad about the girl and that is hard for anyone. You can fix some stuff and make things better. It hurts bad when you lose the things that you want. I read that you were interested in the military. I used to be in the military and it was really great. I can tell you some cool things about it if you would like, later when you are feeling better. I actually had to leave the military because I had diabetes and that was a really hard time for me, so I know how you can feel bad about that too. Anyway, keep in touch okay? I come online most of the time. Again thanks for the reply, I was kind of worried about you. Let me know if you would like to come up with a plan for feeling better about things. Lots.

You know....there's always someone out there who will put a spoke in your wheel. Be it a "friend", girlfriend, co worker...it matters not. What matters is that it hurts, at times something is said that is cruel and devastating....but yopu have to close the door to them and carry on. Often times, those mean words/actions are said or done not only out of ignorance....but out of fear. It blows me away how many are afraid of diabetes...afraid to know more about us !!!

I think many diabetics have these thoughts sometimes. I know that I have. It must be tough to have the diagnosis affect your career and schooling. I don't blame you for being depressed. I'm a relatively new member and I've had so much support. If you contact one of the administrators (look down the right side of the page), I think they will have a number you can call. I'm in Canada but I think they'll be able to hook you up with resources where you are. There are many Type 1 diabetics on here who have lived with diabetes for over 50 years. They have a group. You might want to talk to one of them.
Stay well. Joanne
