Greetings, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY Lynn.....
Best Wishes on your Special Day....and on the next 364 days!
How's it all going? You haven't been on in a while, and I wondered if all was well ♥ Do you have any questions or comments?
I guess it's just the idea that you're supposed to avoid something that causes a feeling of deprivation. Or maybe it's more like what we see in small children - the best way to get them to do something is to tell them they're not allowed! It's only when they do it and get punished that they fully appreciate the consequences of wrongful behavior. Human nature, I guess. But my hubby is really pretty good about other aspects of taking care of himself - he still writes everything down and uses his Novolog pen after every meal (although sometimes he waits too long after eating, I think). But all things considered, he's doing well and feeling well. Once in a while - especially when he's traveling - he forgets to eat (did this pre-dx as well),and gets on the edge. He carries peppermints in his insulin 'purse', and if he has that with him, he's good. I do worry that some day he'll be away from sources of sugar (and from people) and suddenly gets hyoglycemic because he forgot to eat, and then all the negative scenarios come into my head...I wish there were iTouch software that would make it easier to look up carb content of foods and also allow one to record their intake. Have you heard of anything like that?
Hey Lynn....howzit goin'?
It's funny....here too, when I was first dx...I would feel loss over treats I never really craved before diabetes! What is that?
