Hello...How Do You Do, and....HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you Hawk_fan.... Best Wishes NOW....and on the next 364 days!
How's it all going? Do you have any questions or comments?
Hawk,
I am different than most. I have not seen an endo since 1969 and have been type 1 since 1959 and still have no complications of any kind. To this day, I still inject the same type of animal insulin I was on in the 50s. Now I have to import it from Britain, and do not see endos, dietitians, nor educator nurses and have not done so for 42 years. My family doctor booked a compete so she had 45 minutes to ask me questions about diabetes because my numbers always blow them away. I would never trust electronics with my insulin because I was an electronics designer for 40 years and designed circuits that were launched into space. If pumps were designed to the same standards they would cost $100 thousand each but sadly they are built for nearly nothing in China.
For me, animal insulin is truly a cure for diabetes. I don't ever hope or think about a cure because today, I am normal, and I know I will remain this way till the end.
Glad u do. This site has saved me from myself MANY times. (well I took d in 73 at the age of 10 and things have REALLY changed since then) Please enjoy it here with us!!!!!
