It's a hectic day around here. I got up with a 109 bs though. Hey I'm fixing to have to go b/c on top of fixing a floor thast fell through the cable guy is comming for the 2nd time in a week sooooo I got to clean the house up and make it "presentable" LOL!

Hi there Beli, yes, I have had the D awhile. No problems with it yet so I must be doing something right. It is refreshing to find someone with such a positive attitude. The fact that you are feeling healthy means you are an expert too. It is great that you have a pump. I do everything with shots, which is kind of different. I take many shots a day plus I get up once at night and check to see what is going on. I had a pump a long time ago and so I pretty much learned how to mimic a pump. I also take Symlin injections. Just keep, moving, eating right, and smiling and you are going to be dong great. Take care and have a great weekend.
I think it is impressive that you are multi-lingual. I am jealous. I am trying to learn Spanish right now and it is a challenge.

Yes we must forget the past and keep going but that dosen't mean that at times it dosen't rear it's ugle head. LOL! My spelling SHEZ!! English is my only lanuage I would be totally lost trying German. LOL! I have some ppl that are my friends here and they talk Spanish to me sometimes I tell them to try english b/c I have no clue what their saying! LOL! Don't worry about that. I'm glad u can understand me!

Honestly??? Back when I took D they had no A1C but in the 80's it came. My last A1C was really my highest one to date it was 8.4 My old pump died out in July and I had to go on shots for a wekendtil MM got a "loaner" pump to me and I couldn't get a new pump til like August 21st (i think it was) this loaner pump didn't have my settings in it and dumb me started pumping with it as soon as I got it in (dumb I know I was soooo glad to see it come in that I totally forgot about the basil raitings b/c I was so used to the old pump) and having to think b/f I ate??? That was a good onbe too usually I would eat then stop and think that I needed a shot to cover the carbs. The pump spoiled me! LOL! Oh wait I did have a 9.2 one time a few years ago so I guess that was my highest one.

Too young for the pump? We got some folks here that their kids have D and the drs over here in the US have put 18 months old kids on the pump. It's in our group something like "Parents of Type 1 or something like that. It's very active here. Tell ur parents they might want to join up just to see what some of our other parents have done or give them suggestions on what they can do.

I got a pump too. I've had one (of some kind or another) for 24 years now. Makes life MUCH eaiser than the shots did back when. Thank you but we've also got some members on here that were diagnosed back in the 40's and 50's. It is honestly interesting at how things have changes since the early days of having Typoe 1. In the 70's (I was diagnosed in 73) the dr told me I wouldn't live to see 30 but I proved him wrong. My daughter is also on the pump. It has helped hertoo when she 1st got diagnosed they put her on shots ut aftr she got pg with her 1st child she started pumping and loves it now. Wasn't so sure til she went DKA last month and the dr at the hospital took her off of the pump and put her back on shots only for her to go DKA again 2 weeks later and another hospital here in Jackson put her back on the pump. Now she says "They will have to pry the pump from my dead hands if they do that again"

I was diagnosed at 10 and am now 48 my daughter was diagnosed with D at 11 and she's now 23 with 3 kids of her own now. GREAT JOB ON UR A1C!!!
