Hearty Congrats on being a featured member from one of the old timers here..in age..84 Sunday. It is as you know a wonderful group. It saved my life as I was in such denial. Good to know you. Reed
Psst, were you at the IDF congress in Montreal? If you were, damn, missed you (was there everyday from 0h700 - 18h00 working as a volunteer and attempting to do media job for Diabetes1.org). My first D conference - and now I lust for more. Have been asked to present a speech in Dubai 2011 - but not sure if I've got the nerve to stand up in front of an audience.
I think I am off bikes for the summer. Was riding near the Canadain border 3 weeks ago and I woke blind in one eye. Just went through 2 courses of laser treatment and 95% of the vision back and two more rounds to go over the next month. Per Doctors orders no riding because of potential bumps. Right now just playing bicycle machanic for my spouse - she had 3 organized rides this week. If wasn't the eyes I wouldn't pay to much attention to Dr's orders. Rode from Texas to Florida a few years back with a hole in the back of my knee after being hit by a car. This is killing me because I ride year round in rain and some snow. First time off a bike in almost 25 years. Its so bad that I almost bought a Serotta frame off ebay last week to build up just to give me something to do. I usually do about 5000 miles on a single and 2000 on a tandem, but 2007 was a bid year with 12000 miles. I am pretty slow so that alot of seat time.
hey i'm back- i just read your blog and realized you were at the CWD conference this year in Orlando- so was i! we're about a week late on becoming friends huh :) bummer
that must have been your team running around in your shirts. oh well next year then :)
hey phil thanks for the note- too bad you;re not in FL anymore! i just noticed you have a website and am looking forward to checking it out!
do you by any chance know much about how to exercise without causing adrenal fatigue?
I am a new member, but I am a bike nut. Went cross country in 2007 and expect to do it again in 2010 this time on a pump I hope. My son raced juniors in Europe for a Belguim team and was a CAT2 in the States till he decided college was a better alternative. Look forward to following the progress of your team. Mike
Hey Phil, sorry I missed you @ Long Beach. (I try to rotate between CDT & DT.) Will I be seeing you in Boston @ DESA in June ? Check out my page; I recently posted a picutre of my son Harry and I @ Vail, CO . . . what a trip !

I met you last year at the AADE conference in St. Louis. I attended a session you spoke at and was very moved by your life story. I've been following Team Type 1 ever since. You're a great inspiration.
