Hi Cat, Sorry for being MIA. It's been a rough week. Work, PT for the ankle and yesterday my rt knee started aching at work. Stomach touchy, having trouble getting enough protein and now having some hair loss =( Have Samantha's 3rd Birthday on Saturday afternoon. Saturday morning having a garage sale. Drug n awful lot out of the attic and basement. Set up everything tonight. Sale starts at 8 AM. Just finished wrapping presents and going thru picture. They asked me for a lot of pictures of Brian as a baby /toddler. They are making collages of Brian and Toni so we can see what the baby might look like. I am exhausted, burning the candle at both ends to get everything done. Plus Kevin asked if I'd bring Taco salad to the party. Lol, do that in my spare time tomorrow (???) I'm feeling frustrated with my ankle and now my knee again. Plus they are opposite legs. Cold here again and windy. Wish Spring would come back. Need to get to bed. My sale starts in 6.5 hrs but have had so much to do. Hope you are doing well. xoxo Joanne
Hi Cat, Did you get used to your glasses yet? It feels funny for a while trying to find the right spot to look through doesn't it? I have had mine a long time and still notice it. My right eye is worse than my left, so I have to look kind of sideways too. I can't go fast down stairs anymore that is for sure. Did your rain go away? Here it is nice and sunny, but we are supposed to have thunder storms tomorrow. It has been a little cold compared to the way it was before. I like it better that way because once it gets hot, it is too hot for me. I think that I would like a job like the ones that you had. I did the same thing that you did, I stayed home with my son most of the time he was young, when he got older I worked for a while teaching elementary school. In 2000 I finished my B.S. in psychology, I went back to George Mason University in Virginia and now I work in a mental health clinic. I do Patient Assistance Programs, helping the clients with low income and no insurance to get free medication. I work with the Medication Clinic, the psychiatrists and the clients. One of my interests is behavioral neruoscience. I am facinated by anything that has to do with the study of the brain. I think it is neat that the brain is an organ, an like to study its function and anatomy, but also like studying the mind, conciousness and behavioral science and philosophy. I also like social science, after you told me about your seder dinners during passover I watched a few documentaries on the Jewish faith and its history. I like learn about faith and spirituality as well. Of course I am just like you when it comes to animaals. Did you foster any animals when you worked in the shelter? I met Suri's foster mom, and Suri really had an attachment to her before she came to me. It is sad here at our shelter that the animals mostly get put to sleep and don't really look like they have been cared for very well. I went to a rescue in Cullpepper for Suri. It is about 2 hours away from where I live and in the country near the mountains. The animals get good care there and are socialized to each other and build relationships with people. Many were abandoned and abused and need that extra love to bring them back to trusting people. We worked with Suri for about 3 months before she became happy and well adjusted. She was really scared, depressed and confused when we first met her. Now she is doing great. Well, back to work for me. Pet your kitties for me. Lots.
Thanks, Cat. I was in Italy and returned to a work crisis that sent me right back to an airport. I always feel so lost when I can't check in here. This place is home.
Good Morning,Cat. BRRRR it is chilly 45 degrees here. Did not have a good night nothing on my mind got up at 5. Tested BG 109. Things aklways happen to me. My doctor retiring. The one I really wanted for my PCP trained in Boston not taking any more patients. I checked around and my orthopedic surgeon recommended Dr. Kudia. I see him this afternoon. About 4 yesterday afternoon, the doctor I really wanted called and said he could take me . What to do?? I made the appointment to see Dr. Kudia and I will. How are you doing? I hope no real real lows. My best to Jim. I hope it warms up. Oh the folks who lost Spooky got a cat from her Mother who is in a nursing home. Name is Chicho. He comes to my door Meows I let him in he roams the house then goes home pretty cat. Take care. HUGS,Reed
she's been a member since June 2009, I looked her up. Some people delete all their comments, perhaps this is the case. lots of people used to do it, I don't see the point, sometimes you might help someone without even knowing it because of something you wrote on someone's page.
Hi Cat Lover, I 've been a writer in the diabetes community for many years. If you would like me to send you one of the stories that I'v written that have been published, please let me know. I believe these stories will motivate others. Also, I'm a certified health coach in the diabetes field. My job has been to motivate people to compliance. if you would like the stoies pleaswe send me an email. Take care. Marc
Good Morning,Cat. What a differecne a day makes. Yesterday, pouring rain. I got drenched. Today I am actually chilly. It is sunny windy and 50. Doing laundry. Feeling odd no reason really. BG 106. Maybe because I am going to a new PCP tomorrow. My PCP only prescribes 3 medications. My others come from different specialists. How are things with you? I hope you have not had too many lows. My best to Jim. Need to go to the drug store this afternoon and that is my day. Take good care. I care. HUGS,Reed
hi cat, yes, we started to go for a walk and then it started raining, so we turned around. we could have been wearing our raincoats, but no. I'm super tired anyway, I woke up at 4 and never went back to sleep. yes, we have so many groups here. you used to be able to just make up a group, now they have to be approved. that way, if someone is thinking of starting one and we already have a similar one, we steer them towards that. I'm making some bread and reading the NYTimes.
Hi Cat, I hope that you are having a nice morning. I hope that you are all used to your new glasses now. It takes awhile to adjust to bifocals. I have those transitional lenses, so actually have three different lense strengths, and my right eye is worse than my left. It took me a while to quit being dizzy when I first got them. Feels funny until you figure out what part to look throuh when. Are you okay with them yet? How interesting to work in a lab. I would be really happy if you would tell me what you used to do when you were working. There are so many different things that you could be doing looking through a microscope, that I can't wait until you tell me. I love science and biology, so you have me all curious. Lucky for me I don't have to go back to work tomorrow. I don't start again until Tuesday.Today I am all confused! I turned off my regualar phone and got one of those Andriod things to replace it mostly because I feel like I need to keep up on the technology with the folks that I work with. I am all stressed out now because I need to figure out how to use it. I thought that it would be easy but I am having a hard time figuring it out. I hope that I can read the manual today, and take the tutorials on the web and shed some light on this mysterious object! So far I am getting a headache and can't figure it out much at all. I have been trying to get a hold of my son but he has not called me back. I think I need someone from the younger generation to guide me because it seems like some strange device from Star Trek, even my better half is having trouble with it! If my son doesn't call soon and come to help me I think that I might have to go get this book~ I hope that you have a nice day!
Hi CatLover, thank you! this picture is one of my kitties. She has the bluest eyes and her fur is so soft! :)I have 2 cats - both ragdolls. Love them very much.
Good Morning Cat. Even after my long nap I had a good night's sleep. Things knock n wood seem to be getting better here. Russ's blood pressure much better and he lost 2 pounds..he wants to so fluid does not build up. Rain it did not fill a cup. It is so dry here. My BG 104. Reed's Diner will open at 5. Tom arrives. Not much planned for the weekend. Need to pick up things at the dry cleaners Sat and grocery shop. I hope you are doing well and not too low. My very best too Jim. Take good care. I care. HUGS,Reed
Hi Cat, I am mostly using my time off to relax and recharge, and also to catch up on doctors and dentist appointments. I have a nice little lake right outside my back window and a second floor deck that looks down on it and has a great view of the sunset, so it is nice to take a "staycation" because it is so calm and peaceful to be at home. Today I had one doctor's appointment and got labs drawn for diabetes, then at noon the dentist. I was a little nervous about that one but everything was fine. My better half wanted to stop to buy worms so he could go fishing, so while he was at the sporting goods store I shopped for awhile at Kohl's. Now I am trying to gear up for cleaning the house, but really just goofing around! I have not seen my fisherman so he must be having a good time out there. I think that I read somewhere that Kathy was looking for some 70s dance classes so I started looking up a bunch of 70s artists, all my old favorites. I put some down at the bottom of my play list too. Ugh, do you remember disco? I am so glad that didn't last long! I had a nice time listening to the older tunes, I am usually listening to the new ones because of my son, who is 20. It is cooler here too and I like it a lot better. It is a very nice sunny day. I love flowers. My mom had a lilac bush in her yard that I just loved. They do smell so beautiful. There is some kind of white flowering bush under my window and it smells just like honey, so pretty. What kind of annuals do you like to plant? I used to like marigolds, impatients, zinnia, pansies, petunias, and begonias, and then a few vegetables. I love to grow sunflowers from seeds too, the little dwarf kind. Suri sends her slobbery kisses to your cats. I hope that you have a very nice night.
