Top 'o the Morning Cat! I was at home Friday. I woke up with the start of a migraine headache, mostly due to the heat and humidity (gets pretty sticky here at this time of the year)...but I'm sure the stress of the report cards has a role to play there (102 of them), never mind the mad busy-ness of home! At times I feel like I go to work to relax....though I don't go in early....I'm generally there long after my hours are over! Though it gets loud here with the little ones, at least we have AC....and a bed when the migraine gets to the "pop-your-eyeballs-out" point. No bed in my classroom...not even a desk (desks are frowned upon in Montessori classrooms!)! With my classroom like an oven at times, I would end up feeling like the bottom of the birdcage pretty fast! There's a fan, but you pretty much have to stick your face to it to get any relief. Ah....the wind-blown look! Also have to put paperweights on nearly everything on my table! So, it was an early TGIF for me! Our kids and theirs are still here, as you've read correctly on Lots' page, but not for much longer. Our son Timothy and his wife are interested in a quaint house not too far from ours, likely moving in the end of June. Our daughter Danielle, after much searching, has filled an application for a lovely apartment in a quiet area, a stone throw from the main library, the theatre, the art gallery and a lovely park. So you see, we may soon be back to our boring quiet lives after all (insert small cheer here);)
Timothy and Steph are planning for a third and last child once they've settled into their house....and hoping for a little girl.
Hope you're having a GREAT weekend...it's your Memorial Day weekend, right? Our long weekend was last week....Victoria Day. Our school last day is on the 21st....followed the next day (Friday) by the annual year end school BBQ. The week after all staff have to attend a 2 day first aid/CPR re-training....at OUR cost!!
Well...getting ready for Church....so, talk to you later dear Cat ♥
luv....linda

Hi Cat, Heppy Sunday to you. What's up? I love your name! I found this cute picture and it reminded me of you. I hope that you are having a nice day, here it is sunny and hot. Hope to do a good walk like I did yesterday. I am sore from all the exercise! Love the yoga.

Hey sister Cat - thanks for stopping by.
Kona is so darn smart. When Esther is away overnight for a sleepover, the next day he will leave a deposit just next to the litterbox. Then he goes and gets her and meows and meows because he wants to show it to her.
The little stinker.
She is totaly in cnarge of his care and has to clean it up. Her mono bought her a big pag of plastic gloves at the Dollar Store.
Any tips on how they can get rid of this behavior?

Hi Cat, Suri is all perky today. There are so many dogs walking in the neighborhood, all on leashes of course, but too big of a chance to have Suri catch anything from other dogs. When I was in the docs office I found the neatest book about bird watching for cats. It was a full color book and there were all these neat ideas about how to set up little birdfeeders by windows to entertain cats. They had some with bushes to hide the cats so the birds wouldn't be scared and just went about their business so the cats could enjoy watching them. It was so funny the other day Suri was walking and a cat was in the grass all crouched and ready to pounce from a distance, Suri didn't even notice. The cat was in the hunter's stance with eyes wide and all hunched with hair standing on end. It was so cute to see. She was on high alert until we left her area.
I went to the diabetes doc and she lowered my insulin by a lot. Now on only 30 units of long acting a day and 8 short acting per meal, in shots of course. She is trying her best to talk me into a pump, but I like the shots best. I had a pump and for me it was too confining. I have to write down everything and go back on Tuesday and then I am going to get on a continous glucose monitor for a week. I guess they want to fix everything while they are at it. I had trouble with my thyroid and had that medication raised so they are adjusting everything, and I am feeling really good.
Yesterday I skipped out on the walk and fell asleep early! I had been trying on pants and ironing all day and still have tons of pants to iron. Can't figure out today whether I want to get help with shampooing the carpet, or go on the long walk, it has to be one or the other.
My son Jesse is supposed to come over today. He has a desk he is supposed to help me get over from the house. I have to figure out a place to put it. It is a nice roll-top light oak desk. I hope to sit on there and practice learning how to type fast again if possible so I can go back to work. I have Mavis Beacon, the typing school and was what I learned on way back when. I do okay, much better with the letters but need to work on all the rest, numbers and symbols. Now he and the better half just have to get it moved over here. I am excited about it. Might have to get rid of a bookshelf and an old TV that I don't use. Nobody is too excited about rearranging the furniture for me. Are you doing anything special for the weekend? Hope you have a nice one.

Hi Cat, Heard that Zorro was afraid of the thunderstorm you had. How are kitties doing today. Is Maggie bossy? I am in a happy mood today for some reason, I am not getting much done. Been sorting through things, polished some sterling silver, looks so nice now. I got all the black stuff off.
Suri is sick today, worm pill day, she had heartworm before we got her so always careful to give her the pill every month, but it makes her tired and she doesn't want to eat much, plenty of heavy sighs coming from behind the bed. My better half took her out. It is a muggy scorcher out today. I will take her out tonight after the sun goes down.
So you have lots of time to walk and exercise, but I bet you will be on your way before you know it. It is so exciting I know that you are going to have so much fun. I just called the PT referral in waitin for a call back, should start next week, going to work on gait training, and balance, and large muscle strenghening. I hope that you have a nice holiday too. I live right by Arlington Cemetery and DC a lot of neat ceremonies will be going on, but I am sticking close to home. We will think of something nice to do at the house. Take care.

funny we didn't have too much of a storm here, nearby, though, they got a lot. it's going to be unsettled all weekend. we don't really have any plans. we need to plant our seedlings in the big pots: 7 tomatoes, several different kinds of peppers, cucumbers, herbs, beans, swiss chard, a few other things I can't remember. I planted a mixed lettuce blend in a large bowl and it's been great! the red is very good. I think it looks so decorative too. haven't seen any bears out here in the woods, but my friend that lives in our little "town" said she saw one walking down Main Street. all the city folk are coming up for the weekend today. they're speeding around the lake, it's annoying.

Hi Cat, I am so happy that your stomach problems are gone. I was in the hospital May 7-11 and ever since then seeing a lot of doctors and still on medical leave. I am seeing the neuroligist on the 6th of June and having an MRI on the 17th, but til then I am in good hands seeing all kinds docs with a bunch of follow up appointments. Kind of excited, I get to start physical therapy next week. Lots of changes in the past month, but feeling stronger every day and feeling so blessed. Hope that you are doing well. Are you all ready for your trip yet? Lots.

we are having the same weather here. I never thought it would be a good day to make bread, but maybe I'm starting to figure things out. THANK goodness, Billie has left. I was quite mad at him, the last day, he bit the entire top off of one of my Poblano pepper seedlings that I grew from seed 6 weeks ago. I never thought I'd be able to replace it. this morning a friend of mine called me from Lowe's and said they had a few. Ed and I were going over there anyway to get our soil, so it worked out. He's really a very good cat, and was absolutely in love with our dog Archie. I have an adorable picture of them sleeping together on Archie's bed. fortunately I have a hard copy. I lost all my pictures and files several months ago when my computer crashed, and nothing was retrievable.

Hi Cat, how are you today? I hope your tummy is all better and that you enjoyed your chair yoga. When I was in the hospital I had some good experiences. I had pet therapy, they brought in a beautiful Golden Retiever, a girl. She was so sweet. I stayed at a military hospital and they do great things, many troops were there, some injured from battle. They were wonderful as well. I also had physical therapy, got to walk on a treadmill and bike and did some lovely Yoga. It was cold and the Red Cross visited and brought these really nice sweashirts for everyone, more like velure pullovers, brown and black and will be nice for winter. I used to be active duty military when I was younger and loved it. I stayed in Germany for three years and travelled several places on the east coast, Ft Benning, GA. Ft. Bragg NC, Ft. Belvoir was my first duty station here in Virginia and Ft. Monmouth NJ.
I went to the doctor today and got Family Medical Leave until my birthday June 30th. I am to get some physical therapy soon. Have to set it up, for balance, and to strengthen all my big muscles. I am looking forward to that.
It has been raining off and on for three days. This afternoon we had an exciting lightning storm for a little while. It is so funny, one minute it is dark and foreboding and then the sun comes out! Now again it is dark and grey.
Tomorrow to the diabetes Dr. for a check.Hope that you had a very nice Wednesday. Lots.

Hi cat, actually just found out we are going to Pittsburgh with Pete's Girlfriend & parents from June 8-11 so i will not be around for that Meet up. Too bad, I would have liked it. Did one 2 yrs ago at Temple & met up with some folks from here. I'm sure the yoga helps. I have been doing floor streches and exercises just trying to tone up as I lose weight. At this age things don't snap back into shape so easy, lol. Hoping for a nice day tomorrow after my Dr appt to do some gardening. Pete bought me a beautiful Hydrangea for Mother's Day and want to plant it somewhere in the yard.Yes, I feel like I need more hours in my day, lol. Hope you continue to feel well. Joanne

Hi Cat, been really busy. Had a busy weekend working in the garden. Planted 10 tomatoes 5 pepper plants with the broccoli, lettuce & spinach. Pete was home for the first time in 5 weeks. He made me smile. He came in Friday night and looked at me and said "WHO are you and what did you do with my MOM " ? LOL, he says I look really great =) Work has been really busy. Have my 2nd post op visit on Wednesday. Guess we'll see what the Doc has to say. Still have issues on & off with Nausea. Friday is Joe's birthday. Kevin, Jen & Samantha coming Thursday afternoon to surprise him. I guess I'll have to plan a cook out cuz I work that day. Brian is speaking at a symposium in San Diego this week on his research so he won't be here for Dad's BD. Hard to get everyone together. Pete came home this weekend cuz he can't next weekend.Hope all is well with you. As the weather gets nicer my outdoor gardening demands grow and my time on the PC is less. Work/PT/Garden work/Helping Mom/Visiting with kids keeps me busy. New baby only 6 weeks away = ) Stay well !!!

Hi Cat, I am sure glad that you are getting over your stomach upset. That can be so bothersome. I am glad that your BGs stayed good for you. My glasses are all steamed up! It rained here and it is very humid.I took Suri for a walk and we made it around the neighborhood two times about 25 minutes, I am a little bit dizzy and wet now. Just wiped Suri off. I am sitting by the window and just had the cutest little bird fly up and hover there, so cute.
I really love yoga, do they play beautiful music while your do it and have you breathe? I like that part a lot. I will be doing some yoga and meditation later today, but sometimes the meditation turns into a nap by accident.
Hope that kitties are doing well today and nobody ate anymore of your plants outside!

Oh my, I am sorry that you are having stomach troubles. I hope by the time you read this that you are feeling much better. How are you feeling today? Lentils and tabbouleh salad sounds delicous, but that is a lot of fiber and you might not be used to eating all that. I hope that you BGs are doing okay?
You must be really excited about your trip and seeing your grandson! He is so cute in the pictures on your page.
It is great that you have your neighbor to watch over the kitties while you are gone. That sounds like a good deal for all. What are your other cats names? I guess Zorro likes his freedom right?
Right now they don't know what caused this, maybe some medication that I was taking. I will know more after the brain scan and the neurologiest exam on the 7th and the 17th. My mom had PD as well, so that could be a factor.
I am working hard at yoga and walking now. My son came over yesterday for dinner and he and I walked twice around the neighborhood for about 35 minutes and I am a little sore today.
How is your chair yoga? I love doing yoga. At first it is hard but once I relax into it I really get a good benefit, and feel so much less stiffness after I am done.
I found some nice meditation videos on You Tube and I have been doing deep relaxation twice a day. I have fallen asleep sometimes, but maybe just needed a nap. I hope you feel lots better today.
We are having another nice day with the weather can't believe how many nice ones in a row we had. Lots.
