Hi Cat, I read on Reed's page that you had a nice Thanksgiving with friends. I stayed home yesterday and ate my meal all day in bits and pieces. I have been having stomach and pain problems and just got some new medications, Zofran for my stomach and Tramadol for pain. They both seem to help, enough so that I went back to work last week and feel much better. They do make me feel like snoozing all the time though! I am not shopping for Black Friday, but I may hit Walmart later this afternoon. I hope everyone one was there earlier because I am not going until later tonight. I am still trying to get my winter clothes out. We have been pretty lucky. It has been warm so far, but today I better get busy, this good weather can't last forever. I hope you are feeling better and your husband is getting used to taking shots. I sure hope the new medication works well for him soon. Take extra good care of yourself. Ellen
hi cat, I have been sick with a cold for 2 weeks. it has worn me out! my mother was hospitalized several days ago with cellulitis in the leg. i know you have recent exp with this. she thought she was gettng out yesterday but the doctor said it was too swollen still and to stay in a couple more days. she lost her glasses in the ER. anyway, she has decided to move to the 3rd floor, which is assisted living. it is going to be hard for us to clear out her apartment over the holidays. all 3 kids and our spouses will meet ther in a few weeks to discuss a plan of action. thanks for checking in, hope things get better for you and Jim too.
Good Morning Cat. I hope you and Jim had a nice holiday. I did not eat much as my BG was still high from that Cortisone shot. They must have given me a big dose. About 7 we went into the city to see the NIGHTS OF LIGHTS..awesome. I put CHICO on My Page. He is the most friebdly cat. I hope Jim gets his COUMADAN level where it should be soon. Take good care...both of you. HUGS,Reed
Cat. Tell Jim it takes time. Russ was at 1 something and after many doctor's visits and tests he is now where hh should be 2,2. He got so tired going every week. He now goes omce a month. Tell him too if he rubs against a bush or someone touches him too hard he will get purple blotches. They soon fade. Doing laundry. Russ setting the dining room table. I told him just three of us eat in the kitchen NO good silver candlesticks Waterford glasses My Mother's antique china. Chico's parents are away for the holiday. So he will drop in. I will have Tom take a photo. BG 410 at bedtime 340 at Breakfast it takes 3 days for me to bet Cortisone flushed out. How are you doing? Give my best to Jim. Happy Thanksgiving. I will be cooking tomorrow. HUGS,Reed
Hello Cat. Chico visited this morning. Cold, wet rain here. Tom went to run but only did 4 miles as the weather was miserable but he still got his lumberjack breakfast. My knees are killing me. BG 106. Russ got his COUMADAN tested take 2,.25 and see him in a month. It is hard t get it regulated. How is he feeling? You? How are your readings. Tonight they light the lights for NIGHTS OF LIGHTS...it is awesome. My relatives on Staten Island do not have oower or a house. Waiting for insurance as you cannot live in the house. A sin. Take good care. My best to Jim. HUGS,Reed
Oh Cat! I am so sorry for your horrible times. I couldnt imagine a week w/o power. You are a trooper! And the kitties are amazing ! Did Jim have a DVT? This too is disturbing to hear, but I know people do great on coumidin if watched closely. Good luck! We did fine. Did not lose power 1 minute. I have been in PT for Dequervien sydrome. Painful but healing and escaped surgery. I am grateful for these minor inconveniences . Feel so lucky. I am sending you much light into your holidays! BTW, I have trashed my CGM. Grew to hate it.
Hi Cat. Thanks for stopping by. I don't know if I feel any better or not - think I've gotten weak just from being down for so long. Going to set the timer and try to do just 30 minutes of straightening tonight. I think I've once again lost my confidence in doctors. Boo too.
Hello Cat. It was good to hear from you. The last three days have not been good for me. My knees legs feetr and now my right hand aching. I have got to get relief somewhere. It changes my mood. Weather gorgeous. Russ goes thursday for COUMADAN check. How is Jim feeling? I hope better. That COUMADAN gas to be checked often. Friends on Stasten Island still do not have power. Many houses off the foundation. What a mess. My BG 106. I need to perk up. When I see my TOPS ladies tomorrow that will do it. Take good care of yourself and my very best to Jim. HUGS,Reed
Hi Cat, I noticed that you have not been on Tu much and I have been kind of worried about you and thinking about you. I am so sorry to hear that you have been feeling draggy. That is a good word for how I have been feeling too! I wish I had as much energy as Reed sometimes. I am sure he could leave me in the dirt any day as far as energy goes. I have been taking some new medicine for pain, and really they should market it for a sleeping pill because all that I want to do is snooze. We had some nice days here, but today when I need to go out, a cold rainy front came in and the temperature dropped to 43 degrees from 74 in one day. I guess I need to get fired up and get out my winter clothes. How has Jim been doing? Did he get over the cellulitis yet? Have you gotten better from your fall? I hope that things are getting better for you both in the health department. I can't believe that everywhere I look I am seeing all kinds of Christmas decorations, and on TV all the ads are coming for Christmas shopping. Seems like they lost me sometime back when I was trying to prepare for the fourth of July! Zen Cat is full of the devil now that she is used to us. I think we have a spoiled cat on our hands. She is so much fun, but unlike Suri, who was always the same peaceful old thing, I never know what to expect from her. Having a cat is a new experience for me. I enjoy her a lot, but I think I may end up with another dog too, and that should be an experience trying to get them to get along. I will have to get some pointers from Spring since she has so many critters. How are your BGs doing? First mine were always high and I was getting quite concerned and it went like that for a couple months. I just kept increasing my basal and now they are a little on the low side, but at least always pretty much in the same range. Who knows, maybe I will make it into the 5s club soon! I have to go get a fasting blood glucose and some other blood tests today. I really don't enjoy not eating in the morning and driving pretty far, about 45 minutes. It seems so funny, usually I am not hungry too much in the morning unless someone tells me I can't eat! Wishing you some good days ahead. Your friend, Ellen
hi cat, I'm hoping you are feeling better and Jim too, I feel terrible but I'm so happy to see a huge surge in the BigBlueTest today, I want to find out how that happened. bg 77
Hi Cat, I saw your message on Reed's page and it sounds like Sandy gave you a very hard time. I hope that things are getting back to normal for you. So sorry to hear that Jim is having trouble with cellulitis, I know that is not a fun thing to have. Hope you have a bit less stress today and hope to hear from you when you get settled back into regular life. Hope you are not too stressed out. I know I would be if Sandy hit here, but I was so fortunate and it missed me. Take care, keep safe. Lots
Hey cat hope things worked out well for u after the storm Yes I know I'm late but I still thought of u after I was reminded where ur at. yes slow me sorry. Hope everything is good for u know
cat, we had ours out for 8 days. had to throw everything out, we just cried taking all that ggod stuff to the trash. I'm so stressed I don't trust myself. We did spend 4 days of the storm visiting my mom, who needs a change in her living arrangement. she is currently in assisted living until they can get a hospital bed in her apt and make some other changes. she is very upset about everything and totally impatient and causeing me tremendous headaches being stubborn and the usual. I don't feel like myself. we had a tree fall on our house.. ed can cut it up later this weekend if he borrows his brother's chainsaw. I know that cellulitis is nothing to take lightly. it is very dangerous. I will say an extra prayer for Jim, and you too.
Hello Cat. So good to hear from you. The photos of the damage Sandy did is devastating. In Queens,NY 100 houses burned to the ground. I just heard from Marie. She had to throw out all her food. So sorry about you food and food is not cheap. That is a long time to be without power. I hope they can help Jim. Coumadan has to be regulated. At the moment,Russ goes once a month. We are very cold for Florida 42 degrees we have the heat on. My BG readings have been good 104 now. It is good to have you back. My best to Jim. HUGS,Reed
