My goodness, I think we are having a mini-miracle here. It has started to snow, really snow. It is so fantastically beautiful. What a lovely Christmas suprise! Now if it sticks I will be truly amazed. Have a wonderful day. Lots
Hi Cat, How are you feeling? My toe has been taken care of. I went to my regular doctor and she lanced it so that the infection could drain and put me on Zithromax. That stuff kills my stomach. I don't do well at all on antibiotics. They hurt my stomach. I spent most of the day in bed. All three of us are under the weather. BF has a cold and so does my son, and I am tired from work. We have the tree to put together and BF is making a run to CVS for some lights, our ones from last year burnt out. I did my best but never even got to the cards this year. Reed will get one, but it won't be in time. I think he will get lots of them though so maybe he will enjoy mine when it comes late. I worked all week and was so tired, Zen sleeps all day and then all night long while I was trying to sleep she was meowing up a storm, jumping all over me, and crying by the door to go in the living room. When I got up to let her go in there, soon she was crying on the other side to get back in the bedroom. I finally figured out what was wrong. She missed me! It was the first time I have been gone all day since she has been with us. Friday night on, once I was home she has been a little angel. She is so much fun. Her Christmas present this year will maybe be climbing up the Christmas tree. She hasn't paid any attention to it yet, but I don't know what will happen once the lights and the decorations are on it. What are you doing for the Holiday? I hope that your husband is feeling better. How is he doing now? I am so happy we heard from Kathy, I was worried sick. I hope she can have visitors for Christmas. We saw a few small flakes and may have a white Christmas, but I don't think we will get lucky, too warm. It is supposed to snow the day I go back to work. I might get lucky if it does and get another day off. Just a dusting of snow and everyone in Virginia panics. Hope you are doing well tonight. Lots.
Good Morning,Cat. BRRR it is cold 40 degrees. So happy I heard from Kathy (MY PAGE) she is now in Rehab for a while. Tom is here. Russ wrapping gifts. Reed typing. I have the foot doctor at 1. I got Russ into a department store..no one gawked at his nose. He is stressed out about it. COUMADAN test 2.25 milligrams see me in a month. Has Jim's leveled out? Someone gave Tom a 5 pound fruit cake not my favorite want some. How are your readings? Give my very best to Jim tell him not to get discouraged. HUGS,Reed
Timothy (26)is home earlier than anticipated, so that means his place of work will not pay him for the time off while in the hosp. and recuperating. Apparently they cover the time frame if you're in the hospital for a minimum of 2 days!! So, he's on pain meds...and feeling very edgy due to not smoking. I'm urging him to talk to the doc re the patch or something to take him over the hump. Pray that he resists the urge of smoking, and that Steph (who is due in June) also considers cessation. Hugs...linda
Hello Cat. Finally the two of us had a good night's sleep. Very nippy here. Russ is so upset with that flab of skin by his nose and growing hair. I told him they gawk they gawk. You have to get a gift for Tom. He did. Then COUMADAN test 2.2 we now wait for the doctor to call and tell him his medication. I hope he says see me in a month. How is Jim doing with his level? I hope well. My BG 108. You were not feeling well. I hope you are much better. The house is decorated. Now the wrapping. Russ does it as noone would want anything I wrap. Hope you both are doing well. Chico comes every day. Tom's cat Frankie is still getting IV..he is kind of resisting so I hope the vet stops it soon. All the news from here. I think Kathy going to Rehab for a few days...better than going home alone. My best to Jim. HUGS,Reed
Oh my I gave you part two instead of part one. At least you are headed to the right page. Try to find part one and see if you like it. I am off to bed now, working tomorrow. Lots.
Hi Cat, It is so lovely to hear from you. I am sorry you are feeling sick in your stomach. I tried a new medication yesterday for my blood pressure called Propranalol, woke in the middle of the night with a low, and spend much of my day on the "throne" myself. I made the terrible mistake of watching the news yesterday for quite a while. It took time for me to realize that the media is doing a great job making a terrible tragedy worse, and turning us all into a bunch of fearful neurotics. I felt so sad, helpless and upset until I realized there is nothing I can do but admit that there are just some things that happen in life that are very, very sad. It is just part of the human condition. Today I put my button pushers for the TV away and I watched this instead. It helped me with my stomach pain, my sadness and depression as well. If you watch part one and it helps there is a part two and three, and they can be found on the right side of the You tube page. I find this person to be very sensible in dealing with the diffuclties we as humans have to come to terms with in life. I hope from the bottom of my heart that you feel better. You are lucky to have Jack, a grandson is one of the most wonderful things in life, I am sure. Hugs, Lots.
Hello Cat. I knew something had to be up with Kathy as she and I write every day. I hope they find out the problem. Russ's Coumadan dropped to 1 something and they increased it. He goes back Thursday. The nose is long drawn out. He is not sleeping well as he cannot sleep on the side he likes AND the reconstruction of the nose is not until Ja. He is very depressed does not want to be left alone. He is slowly putting on the finishing touches of Christmas decorations. He has photos of where everything goes/ He did his cards this morning. How are things with you?> Tell Jim not to get discouraged. Take good care both of you. HUGS,Reed
Hi Cat .... good to hear from you. Hoping things improve for you & your hubby. Been busy with Holiday stuff and work. Still having a few stomach issues . Will be going in for an EGD sometime in the next 2 weeks.Just checking to make sure there is no problems. Take care. Have a Happy Hanukkah season. Sorry I'm late with those wishes.
He;;o Cat. I have been up since 1 with Russ. He is a mess. Even though he stopped the Coumadan his face is all purplish from the cutting and stitchs. Tom arrived to take him to the surgen. I hope ho comes hme with no bandages and no stitcges. Tom said where are the Brownies? So I am baking them now. More modern than my old stove. Burners in different spots. Church tomorrow Holy Day and, then, again Sunday. I said lets have no tree this year that did not go over very well. My best to Jim. He will get the Coumadan adjusted. I prmise. Hope you are doing well. My BG 106. Take good care. HUGS,Reed
Hello Cat. Russ's surgery was rough. To get the cancer on his nose they really had to dig. To reconstruct they took stuff from ear and chin. Bamdages, He looks like a Frankenstein monster. Went today took most of bandages off keep stitches moist. He has been off Coumadan 4 days. Goes back on tonight. Sees them again on Friday. I am doingok bit stressed BG 104 knees good. Glad I caught that scam that ordered 7 gift baskets using my credit card. How is Jim doing? Is his level getting better? I sure do hope so. Take good care. HUGS,Reed
Hi Cat, It is so nice to hear from you.I am glad to hear that Jim is doing better, and also that you A1C isn't bad. If things get a little less stressful, I bet it will be down further the next time it gets tested. Mine is up to 6.5 which is high for me, but I expected a lot worse, so I will take it. Zen is going really good. I had the flu this weekend and she was in bed with me the whole time. She is very attached to me, but she doesn't bug me. She likes to stay close to me, which is comforting. We are having a warm spell here now, and it has been up to 60 degree and is supposed to be that way for the next few days. I put up my Christmas wreath on the door and got a new Christmas door mat, and I can't believe it is already December. Christmas is just around the corner. I bet Jack loved his new bike. Seven is such a wonderful age. He is such a cute kid. What kind of bike did he get? I remember when I was a kid we had those high handlebars and banana seats. I had an orange one and thought it was so cool. I begged for that thing forever, it seems. I do not like this Zofran but it is better than nausea. It makes me super tired. I have started back to work full time. I don't feel that great yet, but I would rather work, at least the day passes quickly and I get something productive done. I get tired fast so I have to build up, I guess. On the weekends I mostly rest. Well, I hope that you have a nice week. Pet the kitties for me. How are they doing? Lots.

Hi Cat, so sorry about your husband's coagulation problems! Jon was having the most severe leg/footcramps yesterday hes ever had. Dialysis does cause people to have these charley horse cramps afterwards. They are using the fistula with smaller gauge needles so its probably not removing all the toxins and takes time to adjust it. Felt so bad for him because theres nothing to help when they happen. He still is having low sugars after dinner. He tries to adjust his insulin, but hasn't figured out what works to hit a balance.
I do feel overwhelmed right now helping Alex adjust at school. The people there are understanding. One lady was defensive towards me, standoffish. Its because the speech teacher has left for maternity leave and they don't have a replacement for her yet. A guidance counselor is seeing him, but she says she can't take him out of the classroom. They do have at least 2 guidance counselors, and the other lady is so nice and helpfull. They said his problems are mostly because of his stuttering and he is still adjusting from being in foster care and the abuse and neglect he went through. Jon and Laura, Alex's mother did get more paperwork that was needed to apply for medicaid for Alex. Laura might be eligible too which would be a big help with her severe asthma and the costs for her meds. We've been paying for all that so that she can keep her job. At this point, it just looks like all we can do is pray. I know he needs to be seen by a pediatrician to see about his possible ADHD and autism. He needs to be seen by a nuerologist too. There is a speech therapist at our family dr office and I believe she would be some help. We've found out Alex's father used to stutter, but he doesn't anymore. Alex's stuttering is really bad right now. I have received messages from others about his stuttering on here and I really appreciate anyone's help! Have little time to write, but I will get back to those who have tried to help out. I am worried about the future for our grandson.
Hello Cat. Just popping in to say hello. My BG going down but slowly. I think Thanksgiving did not help. My knees right now good PTL. How is Jim doing in getting regulated. It is difficult stuff. Marie has snow. It is 79 degrees here.40 this morniung. TOPS tomorrow double fines if you gain after a holiday. Have not seen Chico today. Wishing you both well. HUGS, Reed

Please have a Happy Hanukah. Any celebration that goes on for eight days is okay in my book...lol.
