Hi Cat! You saying that you enjoyed the owl inspired me to put some beautiful pictures of wildlife on my page. I am happy to hear that Jim's health problems may be coming to an end. I had to wear those compression stocking when I had edema badly, but it is all gone now, and I just have a funny memory of the experinece. My legs and feet were huge and the doctor was silly and prescribed me the socks that go all they way up to the top of the thighs. All I remember is jumping all over the place on each leg trying to get them on. Those are the most difficult things to get in to. I am feeling almost all better now. Just having a lot of lows that I have to watch out for, so taking my readings often. All that medication is going out of my system, the stuff that gave me insulin resistance, and I don't have it anymor,e so need less and less insulin. Plus I have lost tons of weigh, so I guess need less because of that as well. Here we are having a warm spell. It is so strange for in to be up into the 60's during winter. So much for getting some of that white stuff called snow that I want so much. Work tomorrow, and that is going very well. Finally they decided to try some of my ideas and they are getting more organized. It seems like it will be a good year. I like 2013 so far. How are you feeling? What have you been up to? All my tremors and shakes are gone and I can type and write again. I am thinking about getting back to doing some art. Hope you have a good week. Lots.
all well here. Wrist may need surgery and that scares me as nobody can do my BG tests or pump. Taking life slow. Good Jim does not need surgery. I know its warm, but I m cold in this body. Gained 4 lbs over the holiday and it helps. Off the Dex for now. They wanted hundreds of dollars out of pocket for upgrade for new more reliable model. I am fine w/o. Rosie is screaming for attention. Duty calls. be well Cat!
Hello Cat. We are both improving. Russ got it worse than I did. Not the flu just a bad cough. Had the same thing last year at the same time. His nose came out great. He has to shave it. LOL. They took the skin from his chin. The surgeon said the roots will die eventually but right now when he shaves shave the nose. Tom's Dean has recommennded him for a full Professorship...a very detailed 4 page letter .He should get it, My BG 102. Russ gos the 17th for COUMADAN check. It will be off as he had to stop it for 4 days whiule they worked on the nose. Poor Kathy is now on it. what a fool we are we bought Whiskers treats. Chico loves them. She comes in the house ignores us and goes right to the counter where we have them and sits there and meows until we give him some. Hope Jim is doing well. Russ wears compression stockings. They are pricey. Tom gave him 4 pairs for Christmas. Very cold here 80 degrees. Hope you both are ok. HUGS,Reed
Morning Cat. I think I am getting Russ's cold. He was 2 hours in surgery. Tom was in the room. They cut trimmed filled in stitches. Tom says it looks great. I can not see as he is bandaged. He can remove the bandage for good later today BUT if he goes out cover it. Stitches out Wed. He has been off COUMADAN for 4 days so imagine that will be out of whack. Chico took a 2 hour nap with Russ. BG 104. How are your readings? How is Jim? How did he make out with COUMADAN test? Dark, dreary, drizzle here. Tree must come down tomorrow. Take good care. HUGS,Reed
Hey catlover, Jon was feeling better, but now he feels he is getting a slight cold. He was back to work a couple days this week. They had difficulty giving him dialysis with the machine clogging up big time with blood clots yesterday so it took a long time and they ended up using his chest catheter just to get it done. Thats one of the big pitfalls of an artifical kidney machine. Hope it works much better for him tomorrow. Good luck in the New Year to you all!
Had a good Christmas here Catlover! We had to wake Alex up, but he got most of what he wanted. We had lots of rain, but still went to our daughter Sherry and her husband's house for Christmas dinner. Jon was sick, he is doing better now and was back to work today. It was one of the best Christmas's we've had in yrs and its because we had our little grandson here! I am sad to see it over. Alex will have having intensive testing and stuff done once he goes back to school next week. The school is going to try to find out what his disabilities are and see if they find they think he is autistic. We see the signs here, but he has learned to cover some of them up.
CHICO says hello. He jumps up on the sink I turn the faucer on lighyly and he drinks. He is a character. Russ goes tomorrow for,I hopem the final procedure on his nose. It is 74 degrees here. I gained a pound at TOPS but under goal. Tom just arrived to take Russ tomorrow. My knees knick on wood good. Hope you are doing well and give my best to Jim. HUGS,Reed

Hello Cat. I just had to tell you this. Russ has a miserable cold and coughhhhing his head off. I will call his doctor in the morning. Tom is here and Russ listens to him. Russ is in bed. I just looked in and who do you think is snuggled in bed with him? CHICO. He spends more time here then home. Just heard Hillary Clinton in hos[ital with a blood clot. Tell Jim that Russ's Coumadan level is 2.25 a very good figure. I wish for the both of you a very Happy and Healthy New Year. HUGS,Reed
Hi Cat, It is nice to hear from you more often. I am glad that things are going better for you and Jim now as far as health goes. I love snow! We don't have any, but it is kind of blustery and cold here. The sun is out and it is pretty. I have a few days off, don't have to go back until 2013! We are getting ready to move in a few months, so I am cleaning out all my stuff, getting rid of a lot of things. I am finding a lot of stuff that I forgot that I even had. How are your kitties doing? Zen is wonderful. She is really a lot of fun and a really good cat. She and I really get along well, and she is pasted to me 24/7. We sleep together too. I can't even go to the bathroom alone anymore! I hope you have a nice New Year, keep warm!
Hello Cat. C hico's folks went away. We had Chico all day before Christmas and all day Christmas..hr loves this house. It has been in the 30's at night. WE have to cover the plants but it warms up to high 60's./ Frankie,Tom's Cat,only gets 1 IV now a week instead of every other day. Just 2 more weeks to go. They changed Russ's nose reconstruction from Jan 2 to Jan 3. Maybe the surgeon partued New Years. Glad Kathy is home...very tired..I told her use Medicare and get a health aide..she is now on COUMADAN. How is Jim doing. has he adjucted? Hope so. Hope your Readungs good. Santa was good but why do people give diabetics candy? Have a good night. I hope you do not get too much snow. HUGS,Reed
hi cat, actually it hasn't started snowing yet, oh wait, yes, it just started! it's in the 20s here, so I expect it will stay snow. We are pretty close to whatever they say is happening in the Poconos. so I don't know what we are doing tonight. I have some moussaka in the freezer, that's always a treat. yesterday we had some turkey and stuffing, and it was bedtime when I realized the bolus I'd so carefully figured out for all the carbs never happened, that is, I figured it out and then didn't take it. a lovely 459, been ages since I've been that high. so anyway, hope next year is better, it's going to be a crazy January, as we must get my mom's apt completely vacated by Jan 31st. arg.
Always good to hear from you. All is well here, fur us and the kitties. My sugars are up and down too. Could be worse, but look forward to getting baxk to non holiday mode. I have trashed my Dex as it was driving me bonkers. need to find a new GP as mine is leaving Pa and I am saddened gy this loss. Can jim take Plavix instead of coumidin?
