Hi Cat, You are lucky that you have snow. It is cold here, actually freezing, but there is no snow yet and we have blue sky, very windy. After all those tests I got sick for a few days. The CAT scan found a large mass in my liver. I need to have blood tests next to determine if it is cancer or not but I had to meet with work on Friday to tell them what was going on so I can keep my job, and Saturday I was too sick in the morning to go for the tests, and by the time I got better we called and the hospital has no tests referred for me! So today I am taking the day off dealing with all this, and tomorrow at the start of a new week, I will go to the hospital, straighten everything out and get the tests.
Zen is awesome. I have been brushing her all morning and she is shedding so much I could probably make a cat sweater. It must be the change in the weather.
How are you doing? Are your ribs better? How is Jim coming along with the tests? Is he stable?

Hope you are having a good day. Lots

hi cat, thought I'd come by and say hi. Hope we don't get any snow, we're supposed to go down to VA again, my favorite uncle has died (a blessing he was in bad shape) and we're going to the funeral. I heard the word "Nor'easter" and that always makes me worry a bit. hope your ribs are feeling better.

Hello Cat. How are things with you? Are your ribs better? I sure do hope so. Things are quiet here. We are all doing much, much better. I still have a little nagging cough but not too bad. BG 102. Hope your Readings are good. I have decided to go to the TOPS State Convention in April. Russ and Tom will go too. It is in Punta Gorda. I rented a harborside time share living room 2 bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen and a balcony overlooking the harbor. While I am at the meetins Tom and Russ can poke around have lunch. Should be fun. As soon as the owners let Chico out he comes right to my door. This morning it was 7AM. Got much snow? Still cold? Hive my very best to Jim. Take good care both of you. HUGS,Reed

Heard you had a fall & maybe broke a rib. I know how that feels. Did that at Thanksgiving when I fell down the steps holding Tatum. Cracked a rib & hurt for quite a while. Take good care of yourself. Been really busy. Kevin, Jen & Samantha are moving to Long Island on Feb 15th, Breaks my heart with the new baby coming in April we won't get to see him as often with a 3+ hrs drive to get there. Not like a day trip to Willow Grove. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Cat, Oh my, I read about your fall on Reed's page and I am so sorry. It seems like you had just gotten better from falling and hurting your ribs so I am kind of worried about you. I have been having a lot of ringing in my ears and have been feeling dizzy too. I think that my blood pressure medication is doing that to me. I hope that you heal up well and soon. I am really sorry that happened to you. Are you in a lot of pain?
I will be sending you a lot of positive vibes so get ready to catch them. I hope you are not cold with all this wintery weather. I know you get a lot more than we do. We had a snowstorm and I got off work on Wednesday because of it and that was kind of nice. The cold doesn't stick around her though. It will probably melt in a couple of days.
I got a picture from Kathy too and she is absolutely lovely, especially with that beautiful smile and the violin. I am treasuring that picture and it sure brightened my day and was such a treat to open.
Zen is doing well. Sihe really likes my heating pad and is on it all the time. She lets me know that she is not too happy when I want to use it. We end up "sharing" with her on half and me on half and that is kind of fun. It is really neat sharing my life with a living and breathing stuffed animal. I never realized that cats were so delightful. I hope you feel better soon. Be good to yourself and tell Jim that I hope he has a nice week too. Ellen

Sorry to hear about your fall. The ribs must hurt. Be careful. I am so afraid of falling. Russ and Tom out weeding. Is it still cold there? Snow? It has been unusual here. Give my very best to Jim. Hi Cat, I think that is so funny when Reed says he loses things in cyber space. I have that happen to me too sometimes. I am so glad that it is Friday. Yesteday we actually had a snow day and I took the day off work. It is the first snow and this week was the first cold we have really had all year. It actually went from the 50-60s down to the teens. The snow is pretty but it stopped, so I went to work today. This afternoon about four it started again and now it is sloppy and wet out there and so slippery and dark that I passed on the walk tonight. I hope that it snows all night and then it will be fun to walk in the fresh snow tomorrow. It is cold enough that we finally can make a fire. I am looking forward to seeing what Zen will do when that happens. She is so sweet. She is no trouble at all, and what a lover she is. I really get a lot of joy from having her around.
I have hypothyroidism, and I have had it about 10 years. I think it gives me more trouble than the diabetes. I am on Synthroid and it had to be raised from 75 to 88 mg. I have trouble with sore muscles, fatigue and my stomach when it gets out of balance. The doctors that I had never took T3 or T4 levels and I think that I am sensitive enough that I think I need that done. I am looking for a specialist. I guess I will save up to see one because the ones that I have found don't take insurance. I would like to try the dessicated thyroid hormone and maybe some T3.
How have you been doing lately? I bet you are cold and getting some snow this weekend. In Virginia it sure doesn't stay around long. If we have an inch or two everyone gets scared and everything closes. It was so funny, driving home tonight there was only about an inch on the ground and people were going about 20 miles an hour with their flashers on. They get really scared when they see the white stuff around here. I am used to it because I lived in Michigan growing up and we could drive through deep snow without any problems.
I hope that the kitties are doing fine. How is Jim feeling? I hope that the stockings are helping. Poor Kathy, I hope she gets better soon. I feel bad that she has to go to the doctor all the time. I am finally free from all that and back to work full time and I am so glad.
My mate Chis was bad and bought me a bag of pistachios. They are sooo good, but I don't want to eat too many, I am on a roll with dieting and lost 26 pounds and can fit in my size tens again. It sure feels good. I hope you have a nice weekend. Keep warm! Lots

Hi Susan - gosh that Lots is really dedicated to being active. I wish I were to inclined. I am waiting for a cab to come to take me to my blood draw. Too cold to take the bus. They have to take it from my hand as my elbow veins are shot My hands are sooooo sensitive and I don't want anybody messing with them. As I was telling Reed, the whole deal about determining the right dose is just a guessing game and it gets darn tiring. I can't get in to see the cardiologist for another 3 weeks, but he will probably say that nothing's changed.

Hi Cat, How are you this week? How is Jim, feeling better? I am glad to hear the socks are helping. I am really glad it is Friday. I had to work extra hard this week, my partner got the flu. I was trying to catch up all my clients but all her doctors came to me for help with her clients so I ended working really hard.
I have been really dedicated with the walking. Right after I get home from work before I go in the house I take the walk and it really feels good to get the blood pumping after sitting all day. It really has helped to loosen up my stiff neck from typing. I have had to do a lot of tech stuff this week and meetings. Finally got all those loose ends tied up.
We were supposed to have snow and six inches, but woke up to sun and nothing on the ground at all, not a single flake. I really don't think we will have any snow this year. It is not even cold here at all.
Tomorrow I am going to a meditation class. I am looking forward to it.
It is a three day weekend. I didn't even pay attention or figure that out until a couple of days ago, so I was pleasantly surprised. Have a nice weekend. Lots.

Hi Cat, I am so happy to hear you are walking. A half mile is great for you. Almost every day right after work I get out of my car right away and I walk around the neighborhood for about 20 minutes. I just got done now and it was raining. I had on my hooded coat, gloves and scarf, so I was warm. The only thing was that my shoes got wet, but I had on thick socks so it didn't get to my feet. I plan on walking longer this weekend. It is not cold here at all so unless the weather changes, I should be fine. I would love to get some snow to walk in and maybe to keep me off work on Monday. I wish!
How was the dentist? I don't really like to go to the dentist. Almost every time I go they find a crack in one of my teeth and I have to get a crown. Last time I went I was good, but I have to go again soon. It is time and I hope they don't find any cracks. The only thiing that I like about the dentist is that great feeling that I have when finished, nice and clean.
I took a Time Management Webinar today at work that was great my goal this year is to get really organized. I learned a bunch of helpful stuff. I am going to become Ms. Orgainzation at work and home, or at least to try.
I found out I won't be moving into the townhouse until May 1, but all the arrangements are made. I thought it was March that my lease was up, but it is May. Sheesh the M months confuse me, heheh, must be my age, memory loss!
I hope things went well  for you at the dentist. Take care, Lots.

Good Morning,Cat. I have been up since 3. No one's fault. I just could not sleep. Cannot blame it on Russ as he had a good night. Guess who just walked across the keyboard? Chico Santos. Did I tell you he belonged to the Mother of the gal next door. He lived in Assisted Living all the ladies made a fuss over him. That is why he is so loving. She went iunto a nursing home and could not take Chico. NG 108. Going to be 82 and humid today. TOPS tomorrow. I have a paid speaker. How is Jim doing? Does he like those compression stockings? Russ says they are tight. How are your Readings? I hope good. Give Him my very best and you two have a great day. HUGS,Reed

oh cat, yes it's almost over with my mom's apartment. this is where she lives

http://www.goodwinhouse.org/goodwin-house-baileys-crossroads/

so we are getting her settled in her third floor apartment. it's assisted living, so they make sure she takes her meds, but she's still having breakfast lunch and dinner with her old friends in the dining room. since she's been there 17 years in independent living, she had tons of stuff, and hardly ever threw anything out. we have 95% of the "stuff" out, and my brother is coming this week to get most of the rest of the furniture. my dad made gorgeous colonial reproductions, so there are some spectacular pieces that should stay in the family. my bgs have been all over, but I think overall much better since I switched to the combo pump, which has a very sophisticated bolus calculator. yes, the driving is a bear. yesterday we went through some nasty fog, I was on the edge of my seat for hours. nice day today though here, should take a walk....
