Hi Lots- Thanks for your message. A very Merry Christmas to you and the ones you care about. Zen sounds like she is very cute and does catlike things. Just a tip- when you have to take an antibiotic. along with it take Probiotics too. It is a pill of good bacteria that helps your stomach to deal w/ the antibiotic. You can get them in any drug store or Wal-mart in their pharmacy dept. Glad your toe is better. Jim is still trying to regulate his coumadin. His inr was higher last week, that is good. We will spend a quiet day tomorrow at home. Take care my friend. Cat

hi Ellen, well, we were going to go to NYC for a few days and use our Marriott points, but we canceled yesterday. I'm just not in the mood really. our anniversary is the 26th and it's our 26th anniversary this year. lol. we're not telling anyone we're just staying home and hanging out. we don't give each other presents anymore, and we didn't decorate anything. we did make cookies and sent our best neighbors goodie bags. saw my sister a few days ago and her family. so this morning we went to the store and got some shrimp for tonight and a turkey for tomorrow. I think I'm going to make Ed some homemade cranberry sauce today for his holiday bird. it looks likely we will be getting some snow tonight, hope it doesnt turn to freezing rain. we have tons of wood, and will keep the fire going in the woodstove in the living room. Hope you and your loved ones have a lovely Christmas! so glad we're friends.

Hello Ellen. Good Christmas Eve. The house is decorated the cards out shopping done gifts wrapped but I just do not have the Christmas spirit and Russ os worse than I am. BAH HUMBUG. I think as you age you think back to the good old days and the fun you used to have./ I had Open House for years. I went to the Boston fish pier for lobster to make lobster newburg. Debbie Black made my finger sandwiches and, like a fool,I drove 40 miles each way to Rockport to get my desserts. 3 threes. Those days are gone. It was nice to hear from Kathy. I will go to MASS at 4 today Childrens choir. All the others will be mobbed. Going to Gainesville Wed as Tom as to take Frankie to the vet. I hope the poor thing can get off the IV. Chico vists every day.Did I tell you his owner sent him a Christmas card to my house. I hope ZEN enjoys his first Christmas with you and does not get at your tree. Have a most Blessed and Joyous Christmas,Ellen. HUGS,Reed

Hi Ms Lots. I am doing a little better. Yesterday I had the chills but got better by night. My BG's have been higher as I didn't always take my meds because it would make me feel worse in my stomach. I have to wrap some presents today for tomorrow.

It is going to get very cold now.

I hope you have a nice Christmas. Hope your Kitty is doing good.

Good afternoon,Lots. Just back from the foot doctor that leads me to ask how is your toe? We got a heavy rain last night that led to a windy cold front. BRRR 40 degrees. Tom arrived with a 5 lb fruit cake someone gave him. I do not like fruit cake. House all done. Russ wrapping gifts. Something I ordered Nov 24th has not arrived yet. I have been a long time customer. Something happened this year.I got Russ into the department store. No one gawked at him. He gets finished I hope Jan 2. Do you want some fruit cake loaded with Bourbon. Pleased somewhat that Kathy is in Rehab better than being home alone until she gets her strength back./ I am going to ask the Cathedral if they think I am QUICKEN LOAN as I have 6 special envelopes. Hope ypu are ready for the big guy did you clean your chimney? Chico had breakfast with us. His owners sent him a Christmas card to our house. All for now. Keep well. HUGS,Reed

Hi Lots- How is your toe ? Did you see a podiatrist ? Glad we heard from Kathy, her message is on Reed's page. Are you finished getting ready for Christmas ? It is very dreary and cold here, how about down your way ? What is Zen getting for Christmas ? Think I'll go have some lunch. Take care. Cat

Timothy (26) was in the hospital on Wednesday to repair the puncture wound in his lung made when they re-inflated his lung following the pneumothorax of October 10th. He is home earlier than anticipated, so that means his place of work will not pay him for the time off while in the hosp. and recuperating. Apparently they cover the time frame if you're in the hospital for a minimum of 2 days!! So, he's on pain meds...and feeling very edgy due to not smoking. I'm urging him to talk to the doc re the patch or something to take him over the hump.
As for myself...I'm done with school now, for Christmas Break. Will be back in the thick of it on January 7th. BUT...that is THEN!! For now...I am HOME SWEET HOME!
First on the list tomorrow after sleeping in till 9 (and after coffee of course)....the Christmas cards!! Then...getting a new element for my oven. No element = no turkey!! Gifts....gotta buy 4 more...and wrap them.
Must finish decorating the tree. The kids are coming here on Christmas eve....everyone bringing something.
Hugs...linda

Hi Lots. I'm still enjoying your sparkly Christmas tree page. I read that you're having problems with a toe; hope it is healing and that you're feeling well. Best wishes for you, your family and Zen for a Merry Christmas.

Hello Ellen. Kathy's hospital address is om Pauly's page. The house is decorated. He did the rest while I was at TOPS. Looks good .Our tinsel must be 25 years old. We save it from year to year. No more TOPS until Jan. Tom comes tomorrow night and stays through the New Year. PTL Russ had a good day. The flap they are going to use is there hairy. He has to intp a store as he wants to pick out ties for Tom. Now the house is done,Russ turns to wrapping. No one would want anything I wrapped. How are things with you? How is the toe? I hope all is well. My knees are good. Take care. HUGS,Reed

Hi Ellen. A few rough days BUT we all have them. Russ was in tough shape really in a deep depression. All over the nose. Now that he has seen the skin flap and it is all hairy he is hoping the surgeon shaves it before using it LOL. He is better today. Getting me up to talk at 3AM was draining. Tonight he has no bandages no bleeding so I hope he sleeps. I wish someone would get the facts on Kathy. I hope her kidneys did not flare up. How are things with you? I hope well. How is the toe? You decorated? We are almost done. Hope this finds you well and happy. HUGS,Reed

Hi Ellen, saw on Reed's page about your toe, and so sorry. My husband brokenpole had something simular, but it turned out to be gout and made his whole leg hurt. Being diabetic and kidneys not the best, fluid that built up and wouldn't drain out in his lower legs led to it. Gout feels a whole lot like an infection, but even more painfull. Its scarey for diabetics when stuff happens to the toes and feet, and its good that you are going to see the dr, just was wondering if it could be gout and not an infection. Hope it gets better!

HI Lots- I haven't been on too regularly this week. My stomach was bothering me. I am glad we know where Kathy is even if it is in the hosp. I hope she recovers quickly, she is such a sweet person. I am feeling a little depressed this weekend over the tragic shootings in CT. My g-son is 7years old and in 1st grade. Innocent little children are now angels in heaven, way before their time. So sad. I hope you are doing OK. You should see a podiatrist about your toe, if it is infected it needs special care. I hope you have a great week, greeting your co-worker who is coming back from the East. Take care of yourself and give Zen a hug from my kitties. Cat

oh Lots, thanks so much for the kind words (and the pm). my husband doesn't want us to take much of the furniture and stuff. we have family pieces, some of which are over 200 years old, and also my dad was a master cabinet maker (as a hobby) and made beautiful colonial reproductions. I feel strongly they should remain in the family, so since I have no kids, my sister and brother will take them. I did take a love seat, it's so nice, my husband had been bugging me to replace ours which is totally broken. I also want the sewing cabinet, it's a cute lil thing, mahoghany with inlay. anyway, its an awful job, takes it right out of you. I'm still coughing (cant believe it) and I went to the endo today and he said good job. I'm so glad you got your job back. ed just turned 60 so there's little hope, but we are holding on. whenever they interview him, they always want to know when he graduated from college and that's when the door suddenly shuts. My mom's place is at Bailey's Crossroads in Falls Church. we used to live just off 236 in Annandale when we first got married. lol.
