Hi Lots- That is a beautiful owl you put on Reed's page. We hear owls hooting at night when we are in bed and see their droppings on many of the trees. Hope you are feeling better, saw where you were under the weather on Sunday. Did Zen help you feel better ? I don't remember if I told you that Jim only has to wear a compression stocking on his leg to help his clot disappear. The surgeon said they don't remove clots in the leg. So he will wear the stocking for 6 months then see the doc again. We are glad !!!! Hope you have a good, healthy week. Cat ( Susan )
Hi, Thanks for the Christmas wishes. Sorry i didn't respond sooner but I had not been able to get online since mid Dec--trouble with our router. Thought it was my computer, tho! Hope you and yours had a wonderful Christmas and wishing y'all the best for the new year!! Take care and God bless....
Happy New Year and congrats on the raise - even if the new taxes take most of it back. At least you end up in a better 'place' at the end of the year, tax-bracket-wise. Did I mention that Mitt Romney has a family 'cottage' up here near our little getaway place? We pointed one of our walks in the direction of the Romney's Grand Bend place I found on the net and actually found the same place pictured! No big fences. No moat, no gaters, not even a 'squad' of uniforms to keep anyone out. But we just took a couple pictures and kept on walking anyway. Nice house but nothing special, considering the wealth. The Romney place actually backs onto another road where I have some clients living half the year. Ok, so they're rich clients - ambassadors who travel WELL all year and spoiled their kids (which is how I met them, their kids all "forgot" to file tax returns). I actually get to meet Dad today, finally. I've already met and done several years' returns for the 3 kids and passed all their respective tuition onto the grandparents' returns so I'm really met the whole fam damily except the fella who hired me! Hopefully he brings some $ with him as I have a huge MasterCard bill coming out today which I have to phone about - oops. Guess I have to keep this short, friend. I did not see anything about our site elections this past month. Did I manage to miss the whole enchilada? I had to turn off the email notifications when I went to the other house (where I have to conserve internet bytes) so it is remotely possible that I could have missed the whole Award Ceremony and that's one of my famourite tuD times, so I'm quite miffed at me. (Not to worry, I'm almost always miffed at me... according to Dave). I wanted to tell you some more stuff though so maybe I'll get a chance to write to Linda and/or Teena today too and spread a little more 'news' around. I have not heard from Reed in awhile and he no longer shows up on my list of friends. I have a horrible feeling I've offended him somehow and don't even know how. I did message him when I didn't get a chance to write to anyone else, because I knew he likes to get messages and mail but I guess he just doesn't wanna play with this ole Canuck. I still read his page anytime I get here and check on him and everyone else we have in common, including thee. Now that you're feeling a bit better, maybe you'll get to the chat room occasionally, but even as I type that, I'm secretly hoping you pass on the computer time and spend any spare time you have outside walking with your boy(s). We don't take our cats out on walks in the snow - they really prefer the warmth - BIG time - over cold. At the country place, there are a couple of 'abandoned' cats from the trailer park across the way. People holiday there and then just leave their cats behind when they go home. So cruel. One black cat goes by us often and I think I saw him limping last time. He might also be feeding on our beautiful backyard birds! The hardships of nature! Speaking of which, we will likely be here for a day or two this week as our wonderful next door neighbour died last night (they were the ones who had the horrible fire last year). I guess all the trauma and moves and especially the Alzheimers took their toll. He was my proxy-papa since my own dad died in 2001. I miss them both. Sorry about the sad ending, but maybe I can show off my new "hand crafted" Christmas slippers as I'm pretty sure they are almost as comfy as your new ones are! Happy New Year my friend - and please stay well this year!
Hi Lots, weekend going ok. We are watching a Ravens and Indiana Colts football game. Jon and I are from Baltimore and remember when the colts left Baltimore and people there are still angry. Ravens aren't a bad team, and I eventually became one of their fans even though I now live in Mississisippi.
Jon is doing better this weekend. They are still having trouble with his fistula and used it and the chest catheter Sat. It doesn't give his blood as good a clean out as he needs. He has been sleepy. Glad the New Year is here, but wonder what will happen in 2013. Alex starts back to school tomorrow and it means my getting him up at 6am, making him breakfast and driving him to the corner to catch the school buss. Never know when the bus will show up for sure. I found out its going to be really hard to get him an appt with the pediatrician to talk about ADD meds for him. We think he is on the autism spectrum and has ADD. Looking back through all the paperwork they gave us on him and the abuse and neglect reports and both of those are mentioned in there even as far back to when he was is kindegarden. Testing and evaluations are supposed to start this month at his school, and I am hoping the school system finally got his accumulative school records from the school in Mass which has been holding up him getting the help he needs here. Its going to be rough getting back into the routine of school and homework again, but sure did enjoy the Christmas Vacation.
Hwy Lots Checking back in again so soon. I come and go so much with life is good life is maybe not so good. Maybe that is just the way that it really is. My wife and I did this thing thing this past year. when either one of us thought of something that we were grateful for we would write it down on a little piece of paper and put it into a jar. On new years eve we read them outloud. It was one of the best new years we have had. Amazingwhat a difference gratitude makes. Still diabetes and the complications suck and it is important to recognize that too. peace health and happieness
Hi Lots- Your holiday party from work sounds like it was a fun time. I read about it in Reedsville. Your page looks very pretty- I guess Christmas is officially over !!!! Sorry your son is sick, it is supposed to be a bad winter for sickness, especially the flu. Glad your toe is better, as D we can't let things like an infected toe go untreated. Jim got good news from the surgeon that he saw on Thurs. He just has to wear a compression stocking for 6 months and that should help resolve the clot. He will still have to be on coumadin during that time. No surgery necessary !! Sounds like Zen has really made herself at home with you. They like to snuggle when it is cold. Zorro squeezes in behind my knee when it is bent when I am in bed. I hope you stay well long into 2013. Cat (Susan)
Hi Ms Lots. I am feeling better and dont have my cold anymore. I have arthritis in my shoulder and some bursitis in my hip which has been bothering me other than that I am fine. Just goes with getting older. I have been working on some clutter too. Not much snow here but it can still snow alot yet. You have a pretty page. Had a very nice holiday too.
Hey lady Lots. Sounds like you are very busy and back in the swing of things. Good to hear that Russ came through the procedure okay. Reed will have to fuss over him and be sure he wears a bandage if going outside. It got up to 30 today and seemed like a heatwave. I did a bit of walking outside but the sidewalks are in shameful condition. In my back alley, where the trash dumpster is, there are 4 steps down and they are all coated. This weekend my sister is going to bring over some sand and kitty litter so I can put it out myself. The resident managers are new and I don't think understand quite what their responsibility is. How is little Zen? And that hunky young man, Jesse?
I spent Christmas in the rehab place, and it really wasn't too bad, They have a big gas fireplace in the lounge and I sat in a comfy chair with a book. And kept sneaking off to the hidden "treat cupboard" and getting snacks.
Found a recipe for some lower cal corn muffins made with cream style corn, flour, eggbeaters and Greek yogurt. I am very anxious to see how they taste. They would be perfect for breakfast as I'm tired of eating a poached egg and yogurt.
I just played Spring's video and it brought back memories of when we used to take out cat out in the doll buggy and put a doll bonnet on it. Too funny. He didn't last long.
Have a good weekend, my friend. I continue to be filled with gratitude for all of the wonderful caring friends here. Manny can be so proud that the community has evolved in such a special way.
Hello Lots. Feeling miserable and coughing. I think I got Russ's cold.He was in surgery 2 hours. Tom was in the room. She cut trimmed filled in stitched. Tom says it looks great. I cannot see as he is all bandaged. Tonight he can take it off for good. Clean it and put on salve. If he goes out cover it. Stitches out Wed. This started 12/3 ended 1/3. and with the cold no energy. Must take down the tree tomorrow. BG 104 pleased with that. Someone mentioned taxes and that reminded me I had to pay my US TREASURY my quarterly taxes. Wrote out the check will mail tomorrow. When Russ came home yesterday he was exhausted...took a nap snuggled up to him was Chico.Chico belonged to my neighbor's mother she was in assisted living and Chico was the pet of the place that is why he craves so much attention. TGIF. Any plans for the weekebd? I need to grocery shop. Take good care. I care. HUGS,Reed
Morning lots!! Thanks for your update! It's 10 am, -5C (22F) out there....snow, and snowing. A few lazy flakes meandering down. I have a hair appointment at 11:30, and about time...was looking like Cruella de Ville! I was meaning to go to Chapters (large book store) yesterday evening, but it was getting pretty cold after the sun went down (-12)...so stayed snuggled up in my nest, with my wooly socks and my 2 "warm-fuzzy" sweaters. I don't handle cold as well as I used to. Slowly getting into school stuff....so as not to be like a deer in the headlights come Monday morning (sigh). I don't know WHY my blood pressure has been up...but it makes me nervous (and nose bleeds). Woke up at 4 this morning, feeling buzzy...so checked bg. 104 (I have a conversion chart pasted above my screen)...so bg was fine. Checked breathing flow...a little low (??)...and bpressure. Bp was a little high for that time, and just waking...138/88. At 9am though...bp finally down 109/72. FINALLY!! The higher pressure numbers cause discomfort as well... pressure in chest (but that could be the asthma) and pressure on shoulders/buzzy around face. That's the thing with those symptoms... they could be this/they could be that! Will check again later! My pulse when bp is elevated runs high 80s low 90s.
Hope your body will soon adapt to lower numbers. I'm guessing yours were much higher than mine.
I was redoing a word search on the computer for 3 students in my gr. 4 class. I make personalized word searches for my gr 1 to 4 classes to give them with a card a Christmas time...of varying difficulty levels, depending on age. The word searches have the names of each student in that class, and about 15 or so other words all in French, that they have learned. It's a site I go to every year (build your own), but for whatever reason...3 names did not come through. I felt so bad. So said to them I would re-do it and give it to them in January. It took 4 tries!! I think it partly to do with the fact that the word search was in the shape of a Christmas tree....this new one is no=nonsense lol...just a square...and all their names came through!! So...decided
to make one for Mason too...this one with a larger font, smaller grid, and words that HE is familiar with only going in one direction.
When we had everyone here for Christmas dinner, it was SUCH A JOY to see Mason doing the Sign of the Cross...and saying Grace.
I don't ask frequently about the status of "how's it going with the smoking" to Timothy...let alone Steph....as it comes across as forever nagging! I know though that they still both do. I don't know...I keep praying.
I've gotten some good books from the use of gift card to bookstores, given to me by friends and students. Now to get to reading them.
Finding it hard to connect Zen, with motorcycles...you have to tell me more lol
Speaking of Zen...how IS the little fur ball? Is it developing a complex for being blame on "the gas situation"? ;p
Well....gotta go for that hair appointment! Take care and big hugs!
luv...linda
