Hello...How Do You Do, and....HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you Anne.... Best Wishes NOW....and on the next 364 days!
How's it all going? Do you have any questions or comments?
Hi Anne! I can understand you worrying about the lows especially being new to all this. The best thing to do is test, test, test! I'm sure you know that but that's the best way to stay in good control. I'm glad to hear you've been able to get your A1C down so much! That's great! It can be a lot of work and a pain I know! If you do go on a pump in a few yrs as your DR predicted it will really help in managing things. I resisted the pump for over 20 yrs and only wish I had started sooner! Well if you ever have any questions feel free to stop by anytime!! :) Have a great weekend!!
Hi there Anne and welcome! I just noticed you live in Va too. I'm in Leesburg. How are things going for you so far since you were just recently diagnosed? Well you signed up at a great site..you will find so much useful information here and nice people too! :0)
Hello Anne! I am glad that you finally have the right diagnosis! Starting on insulin can seem intimidating and emotional, but you will have the hang of it soon!
I have had type 1 diabetes for 6 years ( I was diagnosed at 21) and I found that once I really started to understand how insulin works, I was able to manage much better.
What insulins are you taking? How did they teach you to calculate the dose?
Please feel free to ask ANY questions! Also, I would highly recommend the book: Think Like a Pancreas. It is a great guide to life with insulin.
