Hey pup...have not heard from you in a bit....so I hope it's because you're having a FANTA-BULOUS time, and nothing else!! Of course, I having been on much...so, could have missed your popping in and out!! Timothy is home earlier than anticipated, so that means his place of work will not pay him for the time off while in the hosp. and recuperating. Apparently they cover the time frame if you're in the hospital for a minimum of 2 days!! So, he's on pain meds...and feeling very edgy due to not smoking. I'm urging him to talk to the doc re the patch or something to take him over the hump.
As for myself...I'm done with school now, for Christmas Break. Will be back in the thick of it on January 7th. BUT...that is THEN!! For now...I am HOME SWEET HOME!
First on the list tomorrow after sleeping in till 9, and then (after coffee of course)....the Christmas cards!! Then...getting a new element for my oven. No element = no turkey!! Gifts....gotta buy 4 more...and wrap them.
Must finish decorating the tree. The kids are coming here on Christmas eve....everyone bringing something.
Hugs...linda

Hey the my friend....how's the leisure lady doing??
Timothy our son (26)is recuperating. He has undergone the surgical procedure on Wednesday, to repair the puncture in his lung made by the tubing used to re-inflate it following the pneumothorax of October 10th. He should be in the hospital for another day or 2. Pray that he resists the urge of smoking (and that his wife Steph. who is due in June, also considers cessation!).
Smoking is indeed of little help in this matter, but not the cause. The cause revolves around asthma mostly, and being genetically predisposed to it.

Hey you! No fair changing your avatar and not telling everyone! Us old dogs don't cotton well to new tricks, ya know! Anyway, I do love your 'motto' and it probably has that teensy bit of "G" rating which might be a tad lacking in your 'wine glass' pose, but yer s'posed to tell me.
And furthermore - I had to cut down my emails from tuD for awhile because my dopey internet provider won't let me access too much when we are at this '0ther house'. As a result, I'm not even up to date on ANYthing anymore and hating that a LOT.

We came home today for the week - and heading back again on Christmas Eve for a week or two but I suppose now you're away on your cruise? At least Trudy's note indicates you might be away?

Ear-regardless (don'tcha love using woids that don't exist despite the fact that everyone uses them... like EAR-regardless?) I was eavesdropping in the chat room on Friday and must have caught the very tail end of an organized chat since Emily was there and people were referring to a 'doc' in chat.

One of those people was using Gareth's avatar and it didn't seem to be Akiko's language. Is Gareth back 'onsite' now? Even his profile page shows nothing new so I'm confused by all this but hey - that's normal too! I WANT him to be back home and recovering now.

So I found myself getting a tad testy thinking I was in a group wanting to be notified of any changes to Gareth's 'condition' and didn't get any notice about his health this month at all. THEN I remembered I turned off most of my email notices. Geesh. I hate being blonde sometimes!

So if you're cruising - ENJOY - but if you're still here doing your tuD 'thang'... I hope to hear from you whilst I'm in the big city and near a big computer. Did that really long Pro-tuD blurb I sent you last month prove useful at all?

I hate calling my server - dealing with those a'holes forever and still not getting anywhere, but I hate missing my tuD friends more, so I'll have to bite the bullet and call Rogers on Monday and see what I can do about augmenting our internet 'quota' at the other house... preferably before we go back next week! And preferably before I get swamped by yet another (gasp!) TAX SEASON!
OMG - it's already almost time to start getting depressed about that 90 day horror.
Best go to bed and hope it all goes away by morning. TTYS baby.

Diapep's results, I've seen, although not the article you linked to. I'm not all that excited about it, but I do think there's evidence it slows down some diabetogenic autoimmune attacks, and that it might get FDA approval, and might even offer some benefit to people diagnosed early enough (like you). The trials DO NOT back up the claim that it can actually prevent the disease from progressing- on average in trials, those using DiaPep had 3/4 as much c-peptide drop as placebo. That strikes me as meaning that the Diapep would only be seriously meaningful for those who would have had long honeymoons anyway. And since prediction of that is imprecise, DiaPep would likely, if it actually got FDA approval, get marketed as being for all newly dx autoimmune diabetics, which would mean more people getting antibody tested, so that a lot of people would be taking the drug, even though a smaller number would benefit.

I had not seen, and don't understand, the blurb on cannabinoids. I mean, I understand the conclusion, but not how they got there or what novel information they are presenting.

HI Pup- I have had a hellish 10 days. We lost our power for 6 days after Sandy. Had to sleep in the cold, temps went down to 29 a few nites. Lived by candle light while the food in my 'frig and spare freezer went bad. Even the cats were confused and sat by the heat register- no heat. Tuesday, Jim worked at the polls from 5 AM to 11 PM. He had to go to the doc yesterday, it turns out he has cellulitis in his leg and is on an antibiotic for a week. Meanwhile, he is still trying to regulate his coumadin. I will try to write something for you, maybe tomorrow. I am still doing wash from last week. Best regards. Cat
Glad the pkg went out.
