I'm legally blind right now. One thing I can tell you is the disabalitiy systems dirty little secret....they deny EVERYONE 3 times in order to weed out the fakers. I lost all my back pay because I didn't know this at the time and hired a lawyer, therefore losing a TON of money in back pay. Don't make the same mistake.

Oy. sorry, I already answered your question! One other thing that's happened to me is that I had a low in my sleep and sustained some brain damage and it affects my memory...sorry I repeated my answer 2x, but hey, watchagonnado?

Thanks so much...unfortunately at this point I'm legally blind. The reason your friend was denied his disability is the disability systems dirty little secret...they automatically deny you 3 times hoping to weed out the fakers and save money paying out to the truly disabled....disability's dirty little secret.

One dirty little secret the social security office won't tell you is that as a matter of habit they automatically deny you three times. I finally had to go on disability because I was getting too blind to drive a car and I had ulcers on my feet that wouldn't heal because I was standing all day. Because I didn't know this I ended up hiring a lawyer and losing all my back pay as payment...quite a hefty sum, I assure you. Could have put a down payment on a house with the amount of money I gave away to my lawyer. I'm still pissed at the system to this very day. And they wonder why we have a homelessness problem....

hi Frank, Happy Birthday! I was thinking about you this past Sunday when we were at the "Unite for a Healthy Future" event at the Academy of Medicine in NYC. The second floor was dedicated to artists with connections to chronic diseases and the art being made was pretty good. Andreina, Manny's wife, did a beautiful piece, and several other Tu artist were there like LeeAnn Thill and Zoey Stevens. You would have blown the place out of the water.

Hope you have a great day and get to have some fun.

Oh, god...DON'T get me started on the heineous disability system in this country....most disability claims are denied up to three times before they are approved, so keep applying over and over. I lost all of my back pay to a freaking lawyer I had to hire to handle my case because I didn't know this....so the system basically screwed me out of my back pay...f'ing bastards...

Yeah, art really aws the saving grace in all this. I was actually making a good living at it so when I had to go on disability, it gave me enough to survive on, I'm working on some animation right now, my first try, What can I say, I'm a South Park fan....anyone that can sell a sieries to Comedy Central with that little attention paid to the animation itself was inspiring. Not that my animation will be that sinple, just that the writing is really the important thing.

Wondering if you've been at all influenced by the Mexican muralists, like Rivera and Siqueiros?

hi Frank, thanks, it's been a great experience working on the quilt, I've learned a lot of new techniques too, and I'm putting some hidden clues on it, that perhaps no one else will "get" - I guess that's how I do guerrilla art - haha. how goes your participation in the research studies? just wondering.
