Afternoon Patricia :) Man....the first day back was BRUTAL!! Still feeling a little wobbly. I get pneumonia every year....but this is the first that that it has triggered asthma attacks. Anyhow, I was wiped when I got back home. Thank goodness it wasn't a full day. Made some coffee when I got home. I gave my grade 4s a Dictée (spelling test) today. The deal is....if the lowest grade of all the dictées for the month is no lower than 90%, we get to celebrate....my treat. So far....we've had ONE celebration since Sept. So I'm not worried! There's whining (what else is new)..."No fair". Can you believe it!!! I say, "No fair??? Who's responsibility is this anyway....you get 2 weeks to study 8 words!" (In my mind, I'm thinking....suck it up buttercup!)
I made meals in advance....so no baking/cooking tonight! I've begun tabulating marks in preparation for the first term reports. A never ending process.
I'm going to watch a Walton's rerun at 5 and put my feet up. There's promise of much colder weather and snow for the weekend...right now, it's 2C ( 36F), and raining. Not your typical Canadian January! Any significant snow at your end?
I think I'll welcome a few newbies before vegging out.
Have a great day dear friend, thanks for touching base. I'm feeling much better :)
How have YOU been?
luv and hugs.....linda
Thanks Patricia for stopping by :) I've been home with pneumonia....but, starting to feel better. Will go back to work tomorrow for 1/2 the day.
luv....linda
Hey dear friend! How are things with you? I have not been on TU in a while. Life is a little crazy, but okay. Miss you! Enjoying your music! BIG HUGS!!!
Hey! Yes I went up to donate to the Faustman trials for the third time in June. Next scheduled to go in February 2012. They are starting phase II soon because they've just crossed the dollar threshold they needed. Keeping my fingers crossed that I get picked to participate!
Come,
let's scatter roses and pour wine in the glass;
we'll shatter heaven's roof and lay a new foundation.
If sorrow raises armies to shed the blood of lovers,
I'll join with the wine bearer so we can overthrow them.
With a sweet string at hand, play a sweet song, my friend,
so we can clap and sing a song and lose our heads in dancing.
Hafiz
Oh, wow. I would love to have all that fresh. We usually get our Thanksgiving turkey locally, but for daily meats, I try to use the local markets and hope for the best. Living in the city those farm fresh resources arent as readily available. We do make day trips out to surrounding areas for U-pick type items (veggies, fruits, etc.). Also, we try to hit our local farmers markets. How did you end up on a farm?
Agreed about the low cho. In my 25 years its been the first real control Ive ever had and frankly has changed my life. Thats also attributed to Dr. Bernstein.
Thanks Patricia! Thats so very kind of you to say! Fantastic work on the A1C. Ive been a PWD for over 20 years and was never able to get it below 7 until jumping on the low carb bandwagon. How long have you been at it? Are you enjoying the food? You know, your only 4 hours from some Kansas City Barbecue! =^)
OmniPod saounds good!! Well......I have a Prince :) Pictures on my page. Wishing you well, and glad you are doing well. Get that Bikini out girl and swim!!! xo
Patricia ...was just googling Tudiabetes, and saw that you were from Labadie. Me and Gary Schmidt and Audrey Joseph or starting an organization called STL Dawn Phenom. Our first meeting is the 26th of March. We are type1 diabetics and also athletic. I ran an organization in Chicago when i lived there that was similar. It is just a way to help type1 learn more about what is going on with your sugar during exercise and afterwards. The meetings are free. You can check us out on the JDRF or ADA facebook pages, are also our page STL Dawn Phenom on facebook.
I am inviting everbody from the St Louis area on TuDiabetes. I had two good responses so far. I have learned alot from this group in Chicago and that is why i want to start the STL area. This is for anybody who is diabetic and that is already exercising or just starting. any questions about this let me know, ciao for now
Missing you girlfriend.... Are you really busy with school? How is your Father and your niece? Are you still loving the Dexcom? I hope all is well! Hugs!
Hi!!!! Nice to get a message from you sweety! I am doing fine. Looking forward to the next few weekends, spending time with my youngest daughter and then the grandbabie! You sound busy. Hope you are well and happy. Love ya
Hi Patricia! So good to hear from you! Do tell more about your Non Profit and advocacy work???? Life has been a little crazy around here as usual. My Father is leaving for Florida for the winter in about a week. If we get a bad winter here this year I may just have to show up on his doorstep! I am technically graduating from the yoga program this month. I am so not ready, but that is a long story. Short version...just very behind on the requirements....Glad to hear you are still finding some time to hit the mat! Take care of yourself and keep in touch when you can. Be well my friend!
