Caren, just stopping by for a quick "hi". glad to see you're friends with Judith, she was one of my first friends here when I joined 5 years ago, she's really a gem of a friend. wow, I really enjoy seeing your pictures from camp, when are you going this year? where is it? we have one not far from my house. I never got to go when I was a kid.

Thank you for your sweet welcome. It is refreshing to know that there are other teens on here for when my son decides to get involved. Right now he is still in the "I can't believe this" phase but he is starting to come to terms with it all. We will be attending a local JDRF function here in the Detroit area and he is pretty excited because they will have a "teen central" workshop that day so he can meet other kids his age and learn about the variou apps that are available to him.

Hi !

We're so glad you joined us! TuDiabetes is a place where everyone is touched by diabetes and everyone 'gets it'. You can come into our chat room and say you're high without anyone misunderstanding. You can blog about how it can be difficult to talk with others about your diabetes. You can post a discussion asking others how they deal with the diabetes police. There are so many ways for you to get involved.

Our New Members Guide will help you navigate the site. We have hundreds of groups where people with a common interest can talk with each other. You can explore our groups here. Below are some of our teen/young adult specific groups. Check them out, and join any that look good to you!

All our members are carefully screened before they are granted membership. If you experience anything wrong or uncomfortable in any way, please contact one or our volunteer admins (listed on the right-hand side of every page) so we can deal with the issue. Confidential, of course!

We're so glad you're here!

HEARTIEST CONGRATS ON BEING A FEATURED MEMBER. Reed

Hello! Thank you for having me as a friend car3n!!
Members here at Tu are near and far....scattered everywhere, but it feels like you're right here...how did we ever manage without the internet 25 years ago!?? That's one of the appealing factors of tu.diabetes. I'm in Canada...in the southwestern part of the province of Ontario. I'm a wife of 33 years (hubby is also diabetic), mom to two grown children (one 28, the other 26), a grandma to 3 lovable little boys, a teacher, and before that an illustrator (still do some) and graphic designer....I speak French fluently, I read, history fascinates me, I paint, sing, walk, garden, ski, ride my bike....did I mention "read"? I love having friends over, I bake/cook, am an eclectic music lover, an animal lover...the ocean...ah the ocean...it speaks to me! Oh...and I have diabetes (and a few other things).
Nice to have you as a friend!!! Tell me a bit about yourself and keep in touch, ok?
hugs....linda

We're so happy that you're finally here!
Welcome home car3n!!
This is a great place to share, to learn, and to grow...all the while meeting new people world wide, and making friends.
Take a peek at some the groups when you get a chance. Just go to the top of your page, and click on "Groups". Once in,
click on "all groups". You can either peruse the wide array of available groups....or simply type a specific interest in the
space provided.
Take in some of the blogs/discussions as well.
The resource boxes at the top of the home "Home" page, and
"About us" at the very bottom of your page and every page (the footer), offer you more information still.

Hope you find the support and information you came looking for.

Welcome to the family! On this forum you will learn so much. Most of all you will learn that you are not alone. Everyone here is supportive and will provide answers to your questions. Search the site for answers. Read the discussions and blogs for information. There are videos to help you understand diabetes and its treatment. Most of all there is family to talk to and even to vent to, if needed. Welcome home.
