Hello! How Do You Do, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you Aaron... Best Wishes NOW...and for the rest of the year!
How's it all going? Do you have any questions or comments?
oh yeah!
I love how flexible my schedule can be now with the pod.
I'm doing an AIDS walk Sunday and I'm anxious to see how it goes with the pod. maybe it won't be too bad
well I love it, but I'm constantly low :(
my basal is set at 1.4 and the highest number I've had was 130, and that was like an hour after I ate.
But, I'm kinda on my own when it comes to managing my insulin intake with the pod because my Endo. doesn't have me fax or e-mail him my numbers or anything.. so I'm kinda thinking about going to another doctor. But we only have 2 pediatric Endo's in MS..
Another thing.. when I got trained.. I Max filled.. I only used about 40-45 units a day so this time i filled to 160.. and I have less than 12 hours left with 50+ units..
I am part of the Welcome Committee and was just checking in on you to make sure you are aware of all that TuDiabetes has to offer. We would love to hear from you so here is a helpful link where you can read about all the things you can do in the community.
WELCOME Aaron!!! My son is also type 1 and we considered the omnipod but decided on the Anamis ping instead. We will start our saline on Feb 2nd! he is on the teen group..Hunter Scharbor
Bonjour Aaron....welcome to tu.diabetes. There are SO MANY groups under the tu.diabetes umbrella...I'm sure you'll find something tailored to your needs. How are you managing your D. at school? I envy your weather...we're having a prety brutal Winter up here( South Western Ontario )...the worse I can remember....things will look up once we enter March though!...Take care, linda in canada.
Willkommen Aaron, if you have contact with an Omipod Trainer could you please do me a favor and ask him if it is possible to save the data of the Omnipod pump as a file. This capability is helpful to use different analysis applications for the stored data: carbs, blood glucose, insulin dosage, basal profile etc. One of these applications for analysis is our free Glucosurfer.org project. Sorry this is so long.. ha
I see that we were both diagnosed in 2003!
So are you liking the OmniPod?
I'm very fortunate.. I'm just about at my 2 month with the D.. and I'm soon to be pumping..
just out of curiosity, how much total insulin were you using daily with shots?
I'm at about 75-80u a day.. and, well, I'm not liking it too much!
how's the omnipod going? my training is friday!! i'm super excited
