I am getting tired of it. My weight loss group has a picnic Wed at the Boat Landing I am praying it foers not rain. My BG 106. Take good care of yourself and keep in touch. Your friend,Reed

Hello! Thank you for having me as a friend Jason :)
Tennessee....so far away, but it feels like you're right here! That's one of the appealing factors of tu.diabetes. I'm in Canada...in the southwestern part of the province of Ontario...a city named Kitchener-Waterloo (2 cities joined together). I'm a wife of 33 years (hubby is also diabetic), mom to two grown children (one 28, the other 26), a grandma to 3 lovable little boys, a teacher, and before that an illustrator (still do some) and graphic designer....I speak French fluently, I read, history fascinates me, I paint, sing, walk, garden, ski, ride my bike....did I mention "read"? I love having friends over, I bake/cook, am an eclectic music lover, an animal lover...the ocean...ah the ocean...it speaks to me! Oh...and I have diabetes (and a few other things).
Nice to have you as a friend!!! Tell me a bit about yourself!
Keep in touch, ok?
hugs....linda

Hey Jason.....It's only natural to feel frightened...overwhelmed. Heck...it's only been 2 days!!! Some doctors have NO people skills...others are turned on by the God complex and love to intimidate or overwhelm you...and then there are those who are "all of the above". Don't let him do that to you...tell him that since you are hew, you really don't understand all that he's talking about (some doctors have to be told the obvious!)...ask to be referred to a dietician...AND to an endo. You DO have the right to ask for these things. You may not HAVE to be on insulin for the rest of your life....it could be initially served as a means to control and bring down your blood sugar, to then be prescribed oral medication. But...if you are to remain on insulin, fear not...it is only overwhelming to you NOW, because this is ALL new to you. It'll all work out Jason. I'm happy that you've joined tu.diabetes. There are so many many people here who will offer support. I'm on oral meds and so do not know a whole lot about insulins...but will have someone who is type 2 AND on insulin connect with you asap.
Hang in there IT WILL ALL WORK OUT!!!
hugs....linda
