Hi Trudy! Hope you are having a good Memorial Day weekend. Yesterday was hot, hot, and humid, overcast. Had to wait til after dark to go for a walk. There was a nice breeze coming off the lakes and it felt so good, the coolest I had been all day do I walked and walked until I could go no further, was out about an hour. I live in a nice safe apartment complex. It is extemely well lit, and the walking paths are plentiful and in plain view of the apartments. Meet many people walking with thier dogs and families at night and it is a safe feeling. We have a security officer here on patrol 24/7. Today I got up early and went out on the porch. It is gloriously lovely today, sunshine and cool so far, so refreshing to enjoy a cup of Joe and look at the lovely view. It sounds like you have a lovely set up with all the seed and suet feeders and it must be quite fun to watch all the birds and all their goings on. I know that your feathered friends must completely appreciate the lovely set up that you have created for their pleasure and enjoyment. I am sure that your yard is a very popular place for them to be. So much for your mint plant! I bet those racoon babies enjoyed that special treat, albeit at your expense. Maybe you can plant some in a pot and keep it out of harms way? Mint is a lovely herb, love it in iced tea and use it in some things that I prepare to eat. It is so refreshing and delicious. How are Betsy's hot spots coming along. Are those bald spots? Suri has one on her belly and sure likes when I scratch it so I wonder if it is itchy for her. Took her to the vet and they said it was okay, just like a worn spot from rubbing when she lays on it. They took a sample for mites and such and she is clear. I am wondering if I can do anything for it. What do you do for Betsy's spots. If you have any ideas I can maybe try them for Suri. I have been doing a lot of walking and Yoga lately, part of the doctors orders is to exercise and keep as active as possible. Today I am back into the Zen ironing mode. I have lost quite a bit of weight and am finding all kinds of things to wear that I have had put away for awhile. I am getting exercise trying all my clothes on, washing them and getting ready to fire up the iron and do my ironing and that for some reason is a relaxing activity for me, that and putting my closet in order. I don't have much closet space here in the apartment, so I have to work hard to fit everything inside in an orderly fashion. I have fun organizing everything by color and then stepping back and looking at the finished closet. I know, we all find pleasure in weird ways, whatever floats your boat I guess! We are going for an excursion to the outdoor plant shop right down the street. My marigolds did not fair well, I guess that the orange ones did not like water as much as the yellow ones as only the yellow ones are still doing well. I am going to pick up some purple pansies today and replant my wooden planter. I think the yellow marigolds and the purple pansies will look pretty together. I hope that you are having a nice weekend. Any plans for Memorial Day tomorrow? Wish I could pay a visit to Arlington cemetery but not quite up to it. I will probably have my son over for a visit, maybe hot dogs and hamburger or steak barbie if he doesn't have to work tomorrow. I posted a new pic of my son on my page. He is my favorite guy. He likes to work Holidays, gets overtime. Have a wonderful day, so nice talking to you!
Hi Trudy - congrats on your featuredness.... featurism? .... featuredability? sigh.... Oh... just Well Done, girl. Not sure what you done did, but it musta been done good!
Hi Trudy. Thanks for the comment. Your life sounds full of good heart things! I love camping but don't do much anymore. Sometimes we rent a Forest Service lookout tower nearby. and the 2.5 mile hike to get there just about kills me! Spend the whole "vacation" getting over it. Kind of feel like I went from 50 to 80 years old in about a decade <=( ? (I turn 60 this fall). I share your coordination problem - Boy isn't it true that we don't know what we've got till it's gone!? I so miss having legs that can go fast and hand/arm strength to handle horses! Then again I feel lucky I can still walk and type and cook and do most stuff well enough. It could always be worse, right? Glad to be friends and congrats on being featured!
U know what Trudy I'm really having a poor me moment right now and yes he hurt me so bad back then. I'm sorry about ur g-mother too. My dasd was a tirant and more or less everybody knew about him and ran the other way when he apperaed. But that's a lifetime ago I just had to get it off my chest there. It really hurt badly is all I can say. Like I said I don't think I ever forgave him for that commednt and her's been gone for almost 2 years now and today for some reason I'm reliving that. It has helped me be more understanding in the long run and I always want to help the newly diagnosed here
Hi Trudy, Yesterday I was busy giving Suri a bath. It took me a long time to brush her and wash her. It was an all day project. She is so funny. She loves to be brushed and will come running and sit patiently for brushing, but when she sees me go toward the bathtub she runs the other way. My better half got her in the tub and I sat on the edge and washed her. She shakes like crazy, scared of it for some reason, but stays still and is calm. Now she is all clean and looks great. I am hoping to get outside with her for a walk today. How are the hummers doing? Today I went out to water my marigolds and saw a red winged black bird, and mouring dove, so pretty. All the birds are singing right now. It is sunny and breezy today. Nice weather. Hope that all the puppies are well. How have they been doing?
Hi Trudy, That picture was taken right before I got sick. I am having some kind of neurological issues, the doctors don't know what the cause of it is yet. I am scheduled for a brain scan and to see the neurologist. I am on medical leave right now. I got a wooden box full of marigolds. That is so neat that the hummers are there again! I bet you were happy to see them. Suri is shedding like crazy. Today is humid here and we are stuck right in the middle at 74. Hope that you are having a nice day!
