Hi Trudy, I really liked your dragonfly poem. I love them, especially on a hot, humid summer's day. We have a great park here with a huge stream that turns into a river. There are a lot of wildflowers growing there and the dragonflies.
It doesn't look like there will be any dragonflies here soon. It is cold and windy here, with blue sky. We might get some snow after all. Lots.

Good Morning Trudy. I just browsed your photos again and as usual Betsy and Cece left me smiling. What a way to start the day!

We are NOT enjoying mud season (well, at least I'm not, the dogs seem happy!). Our snowdrops are up, with buds, to remind me that spring WILL come. Our trial season starts in May. Chaos will be in the 'Beyond Geriatric' class this year.

Hope you and H are well.

Hi Trudy,

Heheh, It looks like I am on line because I always leave my computer on and TuD open. I was actually sleeping. I had the colonoscopy and drinking the prep is a distant memory. I actually had fun! I had to wake up at 4am and do the prep a second time. Then I took a shower and dressed to be there at 1030, so I actually when back to sleep for a few hours when I wasn't running to the bathroom. The hospital was awesome. So many people took care of me and they were all wonderfully nice, especially the doctor. I was put to sleep and I remember my arm stung when they put the anesthesia in the vein. Next thing I was up and told it was done. I didn't feel a thing. They found one polyp and a hernia. They can fix the hernia in a month the doctor said he would tie it off. The polyp went to the lab. That anesthesia was great and like they said I would be, I was happy all day.
I came home and just relaxed. There was a really good documetary on the History Channel about the earth's resources. I learned a lot. I hope it will be on the YouTube History Channel becasue I would like to see it again. I am going to have a treat to celebrate this being over. I am getting a Rueben sandwich for dinner.
How are things with you? How is Hardy doing? I hope he is well. Take Care. Lots.

Hi Trudy,

Thanks for the tips on the video chat. I have only been able to attend one, so that information is very useful. I remember how much fun everyone had chatting with the host. Now that I am not working I will have time to attend future video chats, and I am looking forward to that. They have some really good ones don't they?
You are lucky with that new fallen snow. I am glad that you didn't get enough to bother you. It must be nice to see the snow on the ground when it is new fallen. I have been waiting for snow but today is really something. I woke up at 6:00 and the sun was coming up. I sat out on the deck and it was so beautiful. The sky is blue and it is very warm here. It feels like spring. I already took all my plants out on the deck so they can enjoy the light and breeze. Today it is time to feed them. I have herbs, an orchid, a huge beautiful plant with white flowers, but I don't know what it is, two house plants and a pansy. The pansy almost bit the dust, Zen ate most of it! I know it is safe because people put pansies in salad and use them to decorate cakes. I feel really good today and am looking forward to taking a long walk. Take care. Lots

Hi Trudy, How are you lately, and how is your husband? I am wondering if you are as cold as I am, no snow, just windchill. I stayed home today. I was supposed to get the MRI today but I was too sick to make it and so am going tomorrow at 7. If I feel good enough I will go to work, though mostly the time I have left will be cleaning out the office that has been like my second home for five years. I have furniture, pictures, awards, and lamps to pack up and then cleaning the desk will take a whole day. I have to clean out the computer too. I will be shredding for a couple days too.
I was sick the whole President's Day long weekend. Now I am much better. I hope you are having a good week. Stay warm and pet the pups for me. Of course Zen said to tell you hello! Lots

That is AWESOME that Wendy became a self-trained Alert Dog! I've heard of other dogs doing that, and some cats too. It is so amazing that I wonder just how they figure it out! :-)

I think you were in New Rochelle just a few years after me. One of my contacts at Joslin has been Dr. Lori Laffel, the chief of pediatrics, adolescents, and young adults in the Joslin Clinic. She grew up in New Rochelle and was in high school at the time of the fire. She lived in the same neighborhood where Kathy Adler (the diabetic who sat right in front of me in the 8th grade) had grown up, and she met with Kathy in the 1990s, shortly before Kathy passed away. What elementary school did your children go to?

Hi Trudy! I am sorry that I haven't written for a while. I got the flu and then when I started exercising again I did too much too soon and got a back spasm. I still managed to make it to work, but I was too wiped out for a couple weeks to write much more than a note to Reed here and there.
It seems like so much is going on here at Tu now with the chat and all the speakers we are having that I hate to miss all the excitement.

We finally got some cold weather, and boy is it cold! Especially walking around the lakes the wind is very brisk. Yesterday we had a snow day off and I spent the day in bed, and now I am all rested up and repaired again just in time for the weekend. It started to snow again this afternoon. It was dark on the way home and very slippery. I hope it keeps snowing so I can have a walk in it tomorrow. I like when it snows all night and the ground is nice and white and then the sky gets blue. I will have to dig around in my front closet. I know I have a heavy duty pair of winter hiking boots in there somewhere. With all the weather changes I am excited we did get some snow and I love it. I was afraid that it would stay warm for the whole winter. I enjoy the change of seasons.

How are things with you? Is your diabetes being good to you? How is Hardy? I have been thinking about him and I hope he is doing okay. I finally scheduled my colonoscopy referrral, just have to wait three days and then call for the appointment. I was hoping for a virtual one but I think I am getting a regular one this time. That is okay though, I think they are more accurate and if they are already in, if there are any polyps I think they remove them right away. I found something else that Hardy might like. It is called Muscle Milk. It is high in protein, and carbs if you get the regular not lite, gluten free and lacotose free, so it is easy on the stomach. It comes in chocolate and vanilla. I got a case of 24 at Costco for a $1 each. You may like it too. They have a light version with only 8 carbs. It is pretty tasty.

How are the pups? Do they enjoy the snow and cold? Zen is fighting me for the heating pad all the time! She likes to go out on the deck but she is not too excited about the cold or wind. I think we may make a fire tonight. We bought some wood yesterday. I am glad that it finally got cold enough to use it.

Thanks for leaving a note on my page. If you have time be sure to let me know how things are going. Hugs, and Cheers! Lots

It is very hot here, we are in the middle of a record breaking heat spell, so when it cools down a little in the evening I take Renae out to play ball and meet up with some neighbours and their dogs. Sometimes we have 4 or 5 little dogs running around together and all of us oldies chat and laugh, it is a nice end to the day.

Hi Trudy, I'm glad you like my Bush Christmas painting. Hope you had a good Christmas day. Think of the time difference like this, when we went to bed on Christmas night you were just getting up to start your Christmas Day. Enjoy Boxing Day. Maureen
